Gary is an old-school Van Halen fan. The ONLY reason why he did Sammy crap on this tour was for obligatory reasons - that's it. I'll go on record to say that VH3 should have been released under a different name other than 'Van Halen', it really wasn't fair to Gary. The album is underrated. Gary himself is underrated. But he was schooled by the best, which is of course, Diamond Dave - and NOT - Sammy Hagar.

Fuck Hagar, long live Classic Van Halen - and long live Gary Cherone/Extreme. Period.

I've been a VH fan since their first album way back in high school and have always felt Dave was the best singer. That said, Gary did this song justice. I know there are those who will say Sammy was the best; and I love Sammy, especially with Montrose. I just liked VH better with Dave. Their songs were edgier back then. Kind of like Aerosmith. I feel they digressed musically after Done With Mirrors. Just my opinion tho, so don't blaze me on here.

Gary: It's like the band chose him but found he wasn't the right cool for their school...oh well-Look at VH prior and since---like a bad coke--fueled marriage. I saw Gary on the Extreme tour and was blown away! Best front man I've ever seen that could perform AND sing. Diamond Dave could perform, but couldn't sing live. Gary didn't miss a note. I was amazed.
