I got called up as a "Nasho" in 1970, did basic training at Pucka, posted to Saigon in 1971, worked at the Free World Center and lived at the "Hotel Canberra" . Doesn't seem real now. Once I got back to Australia, I got discharged went home, grew my hair back, not many people wanted to admit that they had been to Vietnam. Haven't seen anyone from that era since. Not sure if it really happened. I saved enough money to buy a HD Holden for cash, so I guess it must have been worthwhile.
Thanks Mate. Pleased to hear from another member of Old Faithful. Yes it was, and is, one hell of a Battalion ... and only the best serve there. Take care Digger.
Great song remind me when I used to play for the Australia Force in Ba Ria and Vung Tau.Thanks Mate
