Really nothing extraordinary there, i had far far much worse situations in Rome Total War : Defending against 2000 people, divided in two armies each one attacking one side of my city, so i had to split my 500-men force... Guess what? They made only two holes in my walls, and i just had to rape them one at a time with elite romain force. Still was much more epic and harder than your video.

using catas from town square or in this case, Castle is awesomme^^ espec with the stupid AI. place one or two spear militias as meat wall and watch the waves of enemies burn!!!

Was playing turks and defeated 2 full mongolian hordes (one with general, cav mostly ofc) in a minor city with half an army of spear militia + two "squads" of catas :) Targeting the forces closing in or the ones behind the engaging enemy front^^

9 out of 10 where burned 2 ashes

still had 2 full militas left :)

Reminds me of what I do with on the English campaign; I have longbowmen put spikes in front of the gate so when the AI rams through it, all the cavalry run straight into the spikes and die. What's better is that I usually put mercenary spearmen behind it so they take care of the rest.

for me defending a castle is easy,put archer or ranged units on the walls and have melee people either bottleneck the attackers at the gate or defend the streets and for attacking attack in multiple places,streets get ur men bogged down easily so never charge down 1 street

Once fought off 2 full Norse armies with 2 units scot pikemen, 2 units highlanders, 2 highland archers and a unit of peasant bowmen during the brittania campaign. It's amazing how you can win even against all ods when defending a castle or settlement.

i won a ground battle with 4 groups of 50 levy spearmen and 1 unit of crossbow mercs. against 180 french knights and 1 unit of peasant archers. The archers made most kills and the spearmen put into schiltrom formation and formed a small wall. I used one unit to flank and kill the enemy archers.

Ouch! well at least yours runs, my GOOD computer decided it didn't like me and therefore wouldn't play the game so I (having no money to take it to the shop nor do I poses any computer savvy friends) had to install it to my laptop which doesn't have the power to play battles just the campaign so I have to auto resolve everything and you won't believe some of the easy battles your troops will lose when you auto resolve! hahaa all u did was lure them into a choke-point or "fatal funnel" as SWAT teams call it, and dumped artillery on them. Every time that happens in this game or Rome Total War, the attacker gets slaughtered. Like on the bridge levels. Funny how they couldn't decide whether to attack or not tho..
