Man, this one may have been mainly affects, but look at the 22 episodes that came prior to it...there's little effects in any of them (at least the PX ones) and tons of storytelling.

Cataclysmo, WebSerial's other series, has more effects, but it doesn't get in the way of storytelling.

From an effects perspective, you guys could stand to make the lightning more luminous. It looks a little too much like the default setting at the moment.

Acting-wise, it's not so great but you can see a LOT worse in Star Trek or Star Wars fanfilms. This is a pretty tidy short, well done.

I guess, as one of the two people who worked on music for PX, I'd say that all in all we weren't going for "unique" per se. The desire was to make music that wouldn't take the audience out of the genre, and to make it internally consistent. (Hence the "power on" music is derived from the "hero" them, and the piano that plays during the quiet section references the Satie waltz from earlier in the series (episode 13)) (cont'd)...
