if you use the remote bombs it wont explode unless it hits the right spot, which if you know where, it always will hit.

Theres actually another pretty easy way: put yourself on top of the boss and just drop large bombs, they explode automatically when they hit the duck pilot causing LOTS of damage to him while not getting hit at all ; )
