I actually disagree about Laurie. Of all the characters, she bears the least resemblance (in terms of characterization, not looks) to the canon (she wasn't presented as well as she could have been in the movie either), but hey, this is supposed to be a typical high school movie, so I guess she's purposely merged with the high school girl cliches.
