  • This is not a singer is a dream. Your voice is just incredible!!!

  • Does anyone know what's the singer's name? I'd like to know it.

  • @Seikilou Andreas Scholl, our GOD :)

  • One word: Beautiful.

  • Beautiful! Thank you for this video, civileso! I am learning this for a recital in June of 2011. This is a wonderful level of artistry to aspire to, and is a nice review of Latin, too, as Latin is not an every day language for me! Again, thank you!

  • Very good civileso, thank you

  • Is this Andreas Scholl? Who sings this?

  • @gaudetjaja Yes it is, it says it in the title.

  • @gaudetjaja Dont you see the video's name?

  • Whats the nice continuo,..it sounds like a bass Lute. nice sound. The Da Gamba is great but I cant make out the background. Something is being plucked allright.

  • @Malloyism it's a 'basse de viole' or a bass viol ^^

  • TY for that.

  • Whats the nice continuo,..it sounds like a bass Lute. nice sound.

  • Oh, what a voice..

  • More than beautiful

  • danke

  • ...Very beautiful...

  • Amazing piece here! I love it :)

  • GRACIAS ROBERTO POR COMPARTIR ESTE VIDEO

  • very cool.

  • Wonderful. Thank you for posting!

  • magnificooo!!!!!!!!!!

  • i would like to play along the continuo part on my bass but this recording transposes, and i am not very skillful at transposition :[

also, mr. scholl sings like an angel.

  • @b0ttomzone - I can't transpose on the fly unless the piece is pretty simple. I use notation software. Just put the piece in as it is written and let the software do the transposing for you. Then just print and play! Musescore is freeware.

  • straordinario buxtehude , bella l'interpretazione!

  • Excellent interpretation!

    This cantata is so beautiful!!

  • Juste divin....

  • An other genius from the baroque era, as serious as Bach, obviously contemporary of JS with a lot of similarities in their work that some times will make you think twice if is Bach or Buxtehude, Wonderful interpretation with instruments of the time and Andreas perfect pitch

  • BRAVO!!!!!.

  • Simply wonderful, as is usual for Andreas..Bravo

    Ich hab' alles genoßen!!

  • Que maravilla de composición. Me da mucha alegría escucharla.

  • comparto su opinion.-

  • Thanks for the information about the alto clef. As you've probably guessed my musical education is a bit limited. I've noticed this clef before on other videos. I'm going to have another look at them and see if I can learn a bit more.

  • Could someone please explain why the treble clef looks like a curly 13 instead of the usual treble clef.

Andreas Scholl's voice touches the soul as always.

  • because it's not treble clef, but alto clef (key C, and C is on third line) used for such instruments as viola da gamba

  • civileso do you have Sicut Moses by Buxtehude??? That would be awesome!!!

  • Thank you Eser, for this excellent, beautiful and - sadly - to me unknown Jubilato by my much beloved Buxtehude! Now, I've learned something and have added another one of your always outstanding videos to my faves! You do an exquisite job on uploading those scripts to the music.... one can literally 'sing along' by sight-reading your musical scores! But of course, you don't just sing along with Andreas Scholl..... you stay in awe and wonder! He is be my best loved counter-tenor!

    THANK YOU

    Kiki

  • I'm fairly new to Buxtehude, but he has quickly become a favorite composer of mine. It's obvious from this recording that Andreas Scholl can sing his friggin' ass off. Kudos, and thanks for this post.

  • Andreas Scholl,contratenor barroco excepcional.Versión insuperable.

  • Dear Civileso,

Do you want to upload the "Nichts Soll Uns Scheiden Von Der Liebe Gottes" cantate of Buxtehude? I don't found it on YouTube.

    Thanks a lot,

    victooorrr (of the Netherlands)

  • bravo bravo bravo

    que obra mas bella.

  • Gorgeous

  • How do you achieve these great videos civileso? How do you get the music and score in sync? Great stuff anyway and this piece by Buxdehude is beautiful. The dialogue between the voice and the viol de gamba is lovely.

  • Hi.. I use Wındows MovieMaker.. Very simple application to use under win xp.. take care

  • Will have to check it out. Do you sing recitals in Turkey? Would love to hear you when I'm there. You have great taste in music anyway! I'm slaving over bach's 48 at the moment on the piano at moment and getting nowhere. Drop me a private message if you want a chat about music sometime.

  • this is really good and Adreas Scholl really has a great voice!

  • Bonjour

C'est très beau. Je chante cette cantate aussi. J'aime beaucoup cette version par Andrea Scholl. Paul Eswood a aussi enregistré une très belle version.

    Merci

  • And do you know Alfred Deller's recording? Completely different but also very good.

  • i think they two have different techniques, don't they.i have both versions of scholl and deller singing Bach's Cantatas, both good, but i love scholl's more, the marvel...thank you so much!非常感谢!

  • What a terrific littel piece this is! Scholl sings marvelously.

  • Thanks for putting that online ! Do you know the version by Rodrigo Del Pozo ? It's incredibly good as well.

  • I never heard of him. But you got me curious. So I went ahead and made my research. And I got some of his recordings.. He does have an amazing voice.. Very rich, striking. His voice has something touching about it. I really liked it a lot.

  • @cuicuimusic Yes, he's got a beautiful voice, but unfortunately he's a pompous arse!

  • Thanks for your comments.. It is really joyful, isn't it?

  • @civileso Can I please have the partiture?
