Hey Tom, how is the copy of the VHS going?? Finished? That still is the best performance of Johnny Lobo I've ever heard... How many songs did Kris at this recording? I have the only two Highwaymen concerts that are available on dvd, and another audio Highwaymen concert, but Johnny Lobo is with none of them, it's only the album version on his A moment of forever... But it doesn't sound as sad as it does here.
25000 plus views and only 1 dislike....either a typo or YOU are feeling VERY small right now............thank god that this world is better for having kris kristofferon having lived in it,god bless you and may you live(like waylon, johnny and willie)till eternity
I've been a fan of KK all my life and since I heard his song on FM in early 70s. What an iconoclast...a jesus freak, country, folk, "left of liberal" DILLIGAF, Rhodes Scholar, natl guard chopper pilot, Nashville floor sweeper...hope he writes his memoirs soon.
I was just fliping through videos of The Highwaymen when I stumbled across this one; by far one of the most heartbreaking songs I have ever heard I fell in love with it the moment it came on, considering I'm Native American this song is very dear to my heart now.
Thank you for posting this very moving and beautiful song. It always brings tears to my eyes. Because it's true, it's so sad. Kris sings with so much emotion. Thank you Kris and keep sharing your beautiful music with us. I truly love this man. I've seen him in person twice and hope to see him again.
Wow got to see Kriss tonight at Casino Rama ontario and at the end of the show was with 15 feet of him for his last 3 songs then I got to shake hands with my hero been listening to Kriss for 40 years took me a long time to get to shake his hand worth the wait. Thanks kriss great show as always. 74 and still belting out his songs. It was a full house . he sung Jonny Lobo. Kriss rocked Rama.

Another great song from Kris, and i like the versions of his songs, when the Highwaymen playing them - just amazing - This concert should be released on DVD
Sad story, and thank you, biggestkrisfan for all nice comments and video you also are sharing. And thanks a lot to Thomas 2878 for sharing this. I'm glad Kris has so many who loves him, while he is living. He will know how much...This is a great video and song..Thanks and love from Marie, Norway.
I saw him last month ... He forgot a verse, some gal kept yelling "they burnt the house down", Kris said "yeah, but I forgot the words leading there".. He is such a charmer. Performed .. just him and his guitar and harmonica.. What a pleasure. He says that he does it alone now (without a band). "so I can make a mistake and not cause a train wreck". I hope he is around for a LONG, LONG time. Please don't tell me if his story ends.
I seen Kris perform this past Thursday night (4/09/09) at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY, a guitar and a harmonica. One incredible show and he sounded great. He played for almost 2 hours with no break. Hope to go see him again real soon. Great show Kris!
I seen Kris perform this last night, just him, a guitar and a harmonica and at 72 years old and still put the place up. Just such a great guy and songwriter.
Will add it to my mp3 disc for my car with more than 60 of my favourite songs of Kris for my two-hours ride to get to work every day. It's really awesome.
I'm glad everyone likes this video. Kris is awesome. This one however is not from a DVD. This was from an HBO special that I taped on VHS back in 1993. I have never seen this available on DVD or any place else. It was a Highwaymen concert that took place in Las Vegas in 1992. I have the whole concert on VHS tape.
Maybe some producers don't like this song, cause they didn't and don't put it on a Highwaymen dvd. He used to sing it at every concert as far as I know.
It sounds even sadder than on the "Moment of forever" cd, I just can't stop to listen to it over and over again.
I've seen Kris many times live in concert perform this song. He sang it in Albany, NY last year and I had a front row seat. This year, I hope he adds it to his list when he performs at the Turning Stone Casino in April.
That was one of Kris' concerts that I had to miss this year because I had to work that evening.....sad because it was in my home town. I'm looking foward to seeing him at The Turning Stone Casino in April. Long live Kris! He is indeed the best!
It's about John Trudell, whose wife Tina and three children Ricarda Star, Sunshine Karma and Eli Changing Sun were killed in a fire in 1979, and it is told that the FBI was involved.
It's such an amazing performance. Which concert is it? Is it on DVD? I have two DVDs with Highwaymen concerts, but this is on none of them, damn...
Trudell is the man, Free Leonard Peltier!!!
