I have been listening to the album nonstop. I LOVE all the songs except Neon Tiger and A Dustland Fairytale, but they aren't bad. Just don't love them.

Apoptygma Berzerk was based on synths and now it's a guitar based band, Depeche Mode includes more guitars as time changes... And guitar based bands experiment with synths and that stuff... It seems The Killers got bored of alternative rock songs...
What?! Come on! Hot Fuss is an amazing album, and so is Sam's Town (the best one, in my useless opinion xP). Yeah, may be Sawdust is not as good as the other two, but it's still pretty good (I LOVE the song Tranquilize... just love it). And Day & Age... well... I'm kind of glad this album is nothing like the last two. it is so diferent in a lot of ways. i've listened to these songs a lot since I bought the album , and to me it feels like some one is like in the hospital dying. I can't believe someone hasn't said this yet. This album is a trainwreck. There's no edge like Uncle Johnny or Tranquilize- it's just a bunch of pop songs with vague and sometimes stupid lyrics. My prediction- they piss off a lot of earlier base fans that liked the indie-rock music but gain a lot of mainstream fans. I'm not so sure I like the more mature killers.

yeah it was leaked. I heard there are around 5 really great songs, but then the other stuff is a bit experimental and didn't pull through. Maybe they're songs that have to grow on you, though I think 5 solids is pretty standard for a Killers album.

I'd call this Sam's Fuss. It's got a good combination of both albums before and new things they've come across. but noone can be certain till you hear the whole thing. It's got a few good reviews so hopefully it will be as good as they are claiming it to be. I hope it is...
Dustland Fairytale is amazing. His vocals are so impressive, i keep watching that 30 seconds. i so cant wait for this album. Killers, are the best band on the planet.
I think its really unfair to judge any of these snippets as a full album because esp with songs like goodnight, travel well that song is like 7 minutes long. And you know almost all of these songs will have killer guitar riffs. :)

this album has all decent songs with no real mega hits like somebody told me, mr brightside, or when you were young, the songs sound good but i expected more..

Day and Age isn't "going back" it's a continuation. The Killers are growing as a band. They are getting better and better.

The reason....
Two god awful tracks 'Goodnight, Travel Well' and 'I Can't Stay'
The tragedy is that this album could have been a classic. These two songs remove that possibility.
They should have replaced one of these quite frankly embarrasing songs with 'Crippling Blow' which is a fantastic bonus track on itunes.
