I made it up to the judged finals and is now shortlisted for to win the competition… However this second stage of the contest is done by general vote…

So we need your support for the short film… and as per the rules of the contest it was shot with my cellphone… Thank you!

  • Hay una ciuda llamado Mexico en Pampanga, Filipinas:

In 1571, Mexico became the capital of the new colonial province of Pampanga at a place called Masangsang.[1] It was named "Mexico" in honour of the place where the first Spanish Governor General Miguel López de Legazpi founded his new life, Mexico City. Subsequently Toltecs, Aztecs and Mayans migrated here as by-product of the Manila Galleons' trade between New Spain and the East Indies.

  • asian is not a race nor a country...it is a continent....we are filipinos with hispanic culture

  • I love my Phillipino people, greetings to you all from a friend in Mexico.

  • My nephew who is now 16 years old is a Filipino with Mexican features. This is because his great grandfather (his father's side) is a Mexican. The grandfather came to live in the Philippines because of his employer - a Spanish Don.

Filipinos are not hispanics. We are Asian. Colonized by Spain and the Americans. This made our country different from our Asian neighbors. The only Asians with Spanish last names.

I am a Filipino and proud of my Spanish heritage. Oooppss...I look Chinese.

    ..

  • we're not hispanic. we're asian.

  • @justgurLz i thout ya were spanish cross kind of like asian

  • Sorry but you only have read a part of the studies. in the north of mexico are the oppisite. Studies have found that the population there are almost "europe" people. on the other hand there are not "pureblood" as you said. that is a big lie that have divided mexican poeple.

  • Bond between philippines and mexico started in manila- acapulco galleon trade, as history says, the spaniards that live in the Philippines are actually mexican -spanish,,,that lead to culture exchanges, samples of which are some languages. like hora, para, el, de, la, alas. bueno, dela, lolo(abuelo) pasko(pascua) mas, larga, tonta, zimberguenza, hehehe!!!those words are still used here in the philippines.

  • aww these its so cute hehehe

  • To all the Mexicans out there:

Filipinos and Mexicans are brothers! Your culture is our culture as well, from religion to values etc. You eat lechon, we eat lechon also, chorizo, etc. etc.

  • haha thats hillarious the last part

hehe well thats really sick that you think like that thats why improud to date asian =] cuz there really nice and cool

  • Muy bien niños y gracias por representar nuestra cultura.Y al que no le gusto que chingue a su madre se los dice un Michoacano!!!

  • I really hurts to see comments saying "Filipinos=Mexican wannabee".

  • don't worry about that, you know that is not true.

I'm Mexican and I know that both countries have a lot of things in common.

Mexico is a contry that always receive the foreign people with open arms, so if you read negative comments, I can tell you that it's just a small group of people that just want to disturb you to get some fun.

    Viva Mexico, Viva Filipinas!!

  • and Viva all the Hispanic countries Peru Colombia Ecuador Mexico and Filipinas

  • España, México, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Filipinas, Panama, Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Perú, Venezuela, Guam, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana, Cuba, Chile, Bolivia, Guinea Ecuatorial...

    ¡Viva la hispanidad!

  • @micahrayne

seriously? lawlz! we just happen to have almost the same culture as them. An American Wannabee would have been a bit more appropriate. O____e

  • @benteunerz36 MMM...what you by that?

  • @bwockee

well... I'm not putting Mexico's culture down. it's just that... some Philippine's music are like Americanized, language and some shows too... bah! you know what I mean. So it's more realistic to say RP is an American wannabee and not Mexican. And saying that Philippine's is a Mexican Wannabee... well it's part of Philippine's culture! I mean, give me a break! After being hispanized for 333years.... >___O..

  • OMGosh they look so cute. thanxz fer appresiating our cultural dance.

  • It is also our cultural dance as well, Don't you know that Mexico and Philippines have alot in common? You have Flores de Mayo, Semana Santa, Misa de Gallo.. same here in The Philippines, also our months, days and numbers are actually Spanish :)

    Gracias! Salud!

  • go filimex!!

my mother is filipino and my dad is mexican which makes me filimex!

  • filimex, hehe, that sonds really cool!!

  • it's weird to see an asian in traditional mexican attire...just like it would be weird for a mexican to wear asian clothes. and that's bull; mexican aren't racist against anybody. we're like everyone else...there's good and bad people in every race.

  • i agree, and it's weird that filipinos as asians has spanish lastnames.we're so weird.

  • its becuz spain took over the phillipines in like the 1600's or some shit like that

  • Comment removed

  • true that

  • @ksovosk

China poblana traditional dress is actually of filipino origin...

    :D

  • for someone whos has limited time here on earth...i find all this bickering between filipinos and mexicans specially concerning in boxing to be rediculous.....i think we have a lot in common...from values, traits to religion....so stop hatin and just let love and peace reign....we all bleed red and life is too short for our lives to be consumed by hatred of other people and races....

  • wow!!! I'm Mexican and how cool is to see Filipino kids learning our culture :)

  • I love the Filipino people, nice video!

    [i'm Mexican-American] =]

  • on behalf of my people, muchas gracias:P

  • Haha this is awesome. Im half filipino but date usually mexican girls and some filipinas. Not to many filipinas where i live just mexicans. Its ok i always loved the whole mexican culture anyways and culturally we get along well since we share so many things with each other. Viva mexicanas y filipinas!

  • what is your half??

  • this is too cute! mexicans and filipinos are so similar anyways. god now im gona get so many haters for saying that! lol ibigin at pagpitaganan! oh im mexican by the way

  • Please moderate your language everybody. Young children are also viewers. This was a school foundation celebration - the 9th anniversary of the founding of the school. As one poster has mentioned each class presented a dance in the style of one, of about 10, different countries. I fail to understand why this should result in the sort of language and commentary I've seen in response to this video. I am deleting responses with unacceptable language.

  • wat tha hell??...I'm from this school..foundation day means anniversary of our school not some mexican blah blah blah you're talkin bout..each grade gets to represent a country!!...with just a dance!!

  • Well, I saw a video that was taken in Mexico where they showed Mexicans practicing Filipino Martial art called Kali Eskrima, they even had little kids in the tournaments. I think everyone have a reason to love art, wether its sport, music, or dance.

  • Youre over reacting. Theyre just having fun. You want to see something sad watch the news.

  • i love the spanish cultural.. i am filipino always wanted to learn more about mexicanos and the spanish cultural and language... i couldn't belive that we use thousands of spanish word in our language ,, in our everyday life...i wish we were a spanish speaking country.... anyways espanol para siempre

  • wow.

    cuuuuuute.

    :DDDDDDDDD

  • Hah,

I just want to say that those little kids look so cute. I'm Mexican and I have dated many Filipinas. The last 3 being Flip. I knew we had close ties to them besides being the best looking people on the planet. I think its totally coo and brings a tear to my eye to see Filipinos showing us love. Ever since I can remember, I've been doing the same. Filipinos are not only the best looking Asians but they also have the most culture.

  • It's cool to see that the mexican culture can reach places so far away from México:^^

  • ohh thanks for the info on that :]

n i noticed that the last time when i researched their language i think its pretty kool :D

  • you're welcome lilchica

    I think it's cool, too.

  • you should watch this you may learn alot about philippines!...its a chavacano language not tagalog it has more spanish words than tagalog.

  • Jajaj que chistoso, un poco distorcionado el concepto mexicano, pero gran esfuerzo, qué lindo que nuestra cultura Mexicana llegue hasta aquellos lugares.

    Good job!

    Mabuhay Filipinas!!!!

  • haha..my brother was one of the performers there!!!

  • that is pretty cute

  • That's awesome...so proud to be a mexican and a pinoy

  • Even though this is not exactly the way we dress and perform the steps in this kind of dance, it is close. I think what matters is that cultures and people should learn from each other and enjoy the good stuff from one another. Personally, I'm happy to see that mexican music and dance is appreciated in other parts of the world. Thank you.

  • on2fan finally! someone who isent saying anything about Filipino's ughh all ive been

hearing is that they're trying to be like us

which isent true its just a part of their culture also and i think its pretty cool that

we have something in common withh them :D

  • Mexico has a big influence in the Philippines.

Spain governed the Philippines through Mexico so the governors were Mexican. Most 'Spanish' settlers were from Mexico. The soldiers who were sent there were Aztecs, Yaquis and other Indios. Of course, they married Filipino women.

There's a town in Pampanga called Mexico.

Virgen De Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Philippines. Alot of the words in Tagalog are Nahuatl. Spanish traditions and customs were brought there by way of Mexico.

  • don't forget that the original mexicans migrated from asia through the bering strait to north america. these people worked their way down to populate all of america. mexicans are washed out orientals. that's wierd that they found their way back to asia to the philippines thousands of years later. but mexicans in los angeles are pretty racist towards everybody---blacks, asians, whites, native americans---are attacked by mexicans on a daily basis here. and that includes kids and elderly folk

  • where did you learn your geographical history?

  • Seriously, you are all wrong.

    What a shame
