  • I'd like to offer up the idea....THAT THE EARTH IS POPULATED ENOUGH!!!!

    You can stop now!!!!

  • Listen to the Mothers, Sir

  • Yah. I Say that that's the Prophet. HeyAh. That's the Prophet.

  • Yah. That's the Prophet

  • if mormons are christian then i guess christians are letting anybody in the club now. mormons get all butt hurt when people say they arent christian but just ask them how they would feel if I called myself a mormon, or what they think of the FLDS lol

  • Not anybody, just people that accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior.

And by that measure I should expect you to be equally as offended if not justly realized for your integrity and character that comes with faith in god.

Mormons don't actually care about FLDS, they aren't us, media sensationalizes them as us, and in turn then everyone else does. Catholics and Protestants are direct branches of one another, I dare you to call one the other. People have died over that.

    Id say come to church

  • @salinesol This is one Mormon who couldn't care less if you think I'm a Christian or not.

  • Until the 1990 changes in the temple endowment, Elohim (God) said:

*Eve, because thou hast hearkened to the voice of Satan and hast partaken of the forbidden fruit, and given unto Adam, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow shalt thou bring forth children. Nevertheless, thou mayest be preserved in child-bearing. Thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee in righteousness.*

God basically told Eve (women) that their role is to have kids.

  • This is from the May 2001 *Friend,* an LDS magazine for children. This shows that the church encourages women to have many kinds from a young age:

*Some girls at school were saying that our family has too many children already.*

    She swallowed hard.

*They said that the world has too many people, that you shouldnt be having any more children.*

A shadow crossed her moms face. Deborah sat beside her and leaned against her mothers arm.

*Im sorry. I didnt mean to make you sad.*

    (continued)

  • *Im just sorry that you had to hear that. Many people dont understand the blessing it is to bring another spirit child of Heavenly Father into our home.*

Her mother settled back in the sofa.

*When we were married, your dad and I didnt wait to start our family, like many couples do. When you were born, he was still in college, studying to be a teacher. People told us then that we should wait to have children.*

    *Wait for what?* Deborah asked.

    (continued)

  • *Until your dad was out of school and had a good job. Or until we had a house and money in the bank. People have a lot of reasons for waiting to have children. President Ezra Taft Benson was the prophet then. He counseled families to not wait to have children, so we didnt.*

  • ============================

The Mormon apostle Russell M. Nelson in his address to young adults at BYU on February 6, 2005 (entitled *Faith and Families*) said:

*How thankful we are that we heeded the counsel of Church leaders to marry in the temple, to invite children into our family, and to serve the Lord! If we had placed our education ahead of our family, we would not be so blessed now.*

    (continued)

  • *Education was a lengthy process for us. Earning two doctors degrees took me a long time. Then we struggled through many more years of surgical specialization. I did not send a bill for surgical services until I had been out of medical school for more than 12 years! By then we had five children. But somehow we managed.*

  • ============================

Although Mormon leaders might not be using the term *barefoot and pregnant,* they are certainly encouraging LDS women to have kids even if they do not have the means or time to support them. The leaders say that the Lord will look after obedient members who have kids, and that they will be blessed for doing so. Waiting to have kids in the LDS faith is often seen as not being obedient or lacking in faith.

  • @7he7ruthHurts that's a crock, nowhere does it say in the doctrine that women are encouraged to have children when they can't support them, that's just foolish. I know that any woman I know in the church would think twice about having kids if she and her husband couldn't support them.

  • watch?v=St6_V3Le7vQ

here Elder Cook, has an amazing talk about hope,

  • You are a very sad person. Find something positive to do with your life. You'll be happier.

  • Sorry you feel that way. I'm a Mormon, and you don't even know me. I have a college degree, a job, a husband and great kids and lots of great friends of all faiths. I try to follow my Saviors example and love my neighbor. A pretty happy life. I don't think I'm stupid. I don't think you knew Pres. Hinckley either. You really shouldn't judge people you don't know. Go do something nice for someone, a much better use of time, and emotion. You'll be happier. :)

  • Ha. It's funny, cause I think we all know whose pointing themselves out as ignorant.

  • wow, how dare you

  • God bless his dearly departed soul. I know he was a Prophet...how sad that people would insult Mormon women in such a way...

  • You want an insult to women and men read the polygamy revelation. I posted it. It nullifies all non mormon marriages and contracts, defines innocent blood, threatens his wife with death and that just the part of it. Their is nothing like Mormon Polygamy. It is a compulsion brought but by the Mormon Hierarchy onto its victim the man and then onto the women who is often already married and is thus forced into a passive polyandry. whew!

  • I have read the revelation, and see nothing insulting about it. It is the truth, just as was taught to the Saduccees by Jesus in the Bible as far as marriage in the covenant goes. We do not practice polygamy.

Would you apply the same standards to the great patriarchs of the Bible that practiced polygamy under divine sanction?

  • Well, When you accept "Nullifies all non Mormon Marriages and Contracts", threatening his wife with murder (and by implication the entire world), When we look at its role at The Mountain Meadows Massacre and that in conjunction with the Blood Atonement Doctrine, we must reevaluate our definition of "insult". No? The "reward" for Abrahams use of mans law to find Gods reward was Circumcision. For thumping Hagar he had to cut his pee-pee. Paul calls the Jews the Cult of the Circumcision. Guess why

  • Murder? I think not. God can not "annihalate" anyone in LDS theology. It is clearly a figurative statement. She would not be able to recieve the celestial kingdom if she did not follow the commandments of God.

It has nothing to do with the Blood Atonement, which was never an implemented "doctrine" at all if you do your history.

"Thumping?" You disgust me. That was a covenant, not a punishment. You clearly show your lack of ignorance by that statement. There is nothing to support it.

  • Circumcision is dead. It was the Penal ty for thumping Hagar. He didn't have Gods Permission, he had mans law. Paul, A Jews Jew calls the Jews "The Cult Of The Circumcision". NOw, why would he do that? Circumcision and all the dietary law, all the foolishness is dead. Christians do not have to live in any OT nightmare. Except the one imposed on them by occult maniacs. Your exaltation of Emma nullifies all non mormon marriages and contracts. JS Said what he said to Emma and you call it a blessing

  • There is no biblical support for your "penalty" theory. If you actually read the Old Testament, you would see that the Lord sent an angel telling Abraham to take Hagar to wife.

  • Please give ref for Angel telling Abe. Call it a blessing if you like. I go with Paul. He got the Message. There was controversy on the subject then, of course. No Christian is under any Jewish Compulsion for such a ritual. And that is what it is. DO NOT fall into the "Cleanliness" argument. It has Zip to do with the "covenant". If Abe had kept his peepee in place things would be different. This little act was a reminder

  • " And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

And he said, Hagar, Sarais maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.

And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

And the angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

    Genesis 16

  • Genesis? If you're trying to tag this stuff on Mormons, you do realize that Genesis is in the Bible and therefore a religious reference to all Christians, correct?

  • well I am sorry to inform you but mormon's use the Bible too! As well as the Book of Mormon ! I guess that make's them apart of the Christian Faith!!

  • Ok? I know that?

    Mormon's are Christian. Duh.

  • Forgive me, It was not telling him to take her to wife, but the angel did command Hagar to go back to Abraham, and that her seed would be multiplied exceedingly, and in that she would be blessed. Given that and the Lord's promises to Abraham, it isn't hard to put two and two together and see that the Lord desired Abraham to take Hagar to wife.

  • I attest that the indifference perpetrated by those of higher magistrate of the land did nothing to rectify the reparations committed by those insidious characters in the states of Missouri Arkansas and other southern states, and lest the fact that send armies against the saints to Utah territory, lead up to certain conditions not fully understood and appreciated by citizens of our day. Thus concluding that while said tragedies of early american life occured, they have nothing to do with our day

  • Nicely done haidermann. But I disagree...

  • The Polygamy Revelation of Joseph Smith states Emma is going to be killed if she doesn't commit. That is murder. God isn't going to do it. Joe is or one of his avenging angels.

  • Not really. Read such things in context. It will be a spiritual destruction by the fact that she will be denied the blessings of exaltation.

  • Straight talk from a true prophet of God. Pure truth sure does sting the haters of truth.

  • Pure truth? Really? Can you please, then, point out one single prophesy that Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, or any other Mormon prophet made that came true?

    I can't find a single one.

  • Well, Moparmonster;

Guess you haven't done your homework very well!!

Joseph Smith, God's true prophet, who restored The Gospel through Divine Powers, prophesied that Mormons who lived in true faith and obedience could save a ton of money on their car insurance by switching to GEICO!!

Try educating yourself for once. The GEICO Doctrine is in The Urinal of Miscourse!!

  • I'm not often at a loss for words, but the last sentence leaves me speechless. Good work!

    LOL

    LOL

    LOL

  • Nothing less than a complete apostasy from the Christian religion would warrant the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

(Joseph Smith, Jr., History of the Church, verse 1, page 40)

  • BAhhh! That was his personal opinion!

He is dead, gone, six feet under, pushing up daisies!

Women are here for one thing and one thing only, to marry us righteous mormon males, pop out babies and be one of our many wives when we become a god!

So get back to popping out those future tithes payers!

  • I love the clear and concise message here!

  • Thanks for this post. Although not a Mormon, I miss this man's sincerity and loving kindness.

  • Thanks for saying that. Sometimes it gets very hard to live in a world that doesn't understand you and mocks you. You don't have to be of any particular religion to see that this man had a love for all mankind. Thank you again.

  • He's NOTHING like the Pope was, Pope John Paul was very much loved

  • Who ever compared him witht he pope? And noone denies that the pope was well loved just as President Gordon B Hinckley was also loved by many.

  • and well um Hinckley was to if you havent noticed

  • Wow dude can we say envy here? You can't even compare the man of God the Pope to some leader of a cult are you nuts?!? Why are the mormons so jealous of the Catholics is it glory you people want? If so then thats of satan because he always wants glory over God

  • You ROCK Pres Hinckley! You will be missed...

  • Thank you for this video!

  • Thank you President Hinckley for standing up for women and families everywhere!

  • Once again.. the prophet Joseph Smith said.. I give them guidence.. they rule themselves.

Never would the Church direct the number of children a couple should have. The General Authorities speak to the entire church in general terms.. but it is always an individual decision. Though we are told to be fruitful and multiply.. and we understand why this is so. we are told not to bring children into a world that we could not afford to take care of them. Forcing poverty on oneself is wrong.

  • S.O.S snake oil salesmen.

  • most of those things are either false, not practiced, or opinion of a few members. Actually, the salamander was a totally made up lie and the guy who wrote it went to prison.

Mountain Meadows was terrible, and our church takes responsibility and it working with the descendants to honor the memory of their ancestors.

Invoking satan? you have got to be kidding me.

  • Poor women, having to have children! I imagine all of us who were priviledged to have a Mom at home wish that she wasn't there, that she was working. I'm sure we all wish we had a nicer car, nicer house when we were growing up and not have Mom & Dad around to play with, or go on holidays with. Women have such an important and sacred calling for they form much of what happens in the home and those kids then go on to form the next generation, not a new concept and embraced by most countries now.

  • @joefisheries

    How wrong you are !

My Mother was always out at work when i was growing up. Sure, i had the best of everything. The best clothes, toys, holidays .. But i never got much attention, or love, from my over-worked, stressed Mother.

I would have loved to have had my Mother be around in those earlier year.

As a result of her absence, we now don't have a very great relationship.

  • You guys are funny. Any chance to spew out your rubbish! What part of what President Hinckley was saying don't you believe, or does it day somewhere how many kids we should have?? Polygamy although not my idea of fun is biblical, priesthood selectivity is not new it is also biblical. If you are angry go punch a wall or something. What we believe in is sacred & true and all the rubbish in the world & cleverness of words cannot discount that. Demon spirit to hell, please?! You guys are classic!

  • MormonNegro:"Mormonism was clearly to be a queen ant, pumping out Mormon maggots"

I realize you have turned Judas, but do you have to turn David Duke too?

What you cite is HATE speech! Despicable in every way!

Please don't teach your children to be like you!

  • im sure ill see you there then

  • Great logic there, max.

  • Did you even listen to the video? He's saying the number of kids is up to us - he's not commenting on not the timing or urgency or where kids should be in our list of priorities.

    Sheesh - calm down.

  • lol

    Some people...

  • Geez... that's nice.
