@shooter348 There are many homeschooling groups (especially from Vermont) that are liberal/progressive. But the individual homeschooling families I find to be very liberty/small gov oriented.
You'd be surprised how many homeschoolers actively voted for Obama because of Global Warming, or vote for whoever has an R after their name because of their fundamental christianity, both of those groups expecting the State to save them from the evil other-party-types.
In an atheist homeschool email list I read, Obamaniacs actively shouted me down for daring to suggest that the state is an unnecessary evil. On a list with hundreds of homeschoolign parents, only one other posted in support.

Home school groups push socialism? That seems antithetical to home schooling. Most home schoolers I know want to get away from the state.
