UK has always been sceptical of the EU because of the France-German axis. The Brits felt more or less forced in to to not be outside of the loop. Mainland Europe on the other hand often viewed the UK as a Trojan Horse for Anglo-American influence. It has never been a happy marriage.
As to the future of the EU I think there will be a split between the core and the mantle countries. I can see Germany taking the lead in a coming reform.

The best thing Europe could do would be a standard free trade treaty.
Any country who signs on drops their import/export tariffs to all other signatories to 0, and drops all travel/emigration restrictions.
Basically, recreate the reason that the United States became such an industrial power-house: a continent sized free trade zone.

The entire reason and basis for the EU is so the privately-owned central bankers can form an EU central bank, which they own the stock in, where they can print the euro currency and get it free when it's printed.
Problem is, they can print more new currency to match growth in social problems and immigration, but they don't have to pay the downsides for that growth, the member governments do.
They use some of their newly printed euro currency to advertise the EU as being great, that's all.

As for the euro, when EU states can admit that they have surrendered all semblance of national sovereignty by joining the EU, then the euro can work.

UK has always been sceptical of the EU because of the France-German axis. The Brits felt more or less forced in to to not be outside of the loop. Mainland Europe on the other hand often viewed the UK as a Trojan Horse for Anglo-American influence. It has never been a happy marriage.
As to the future of the EU I think there will be a split between the core and the mantle countries. I can see Germany taking the lead in a coming reform.

take the 'god' of the bible for example, no other being in all of history has killed as many women, men children and babies (oh and 'sinful' animals) - according to the bible itself. reread 'the great flood' story if you are unclear of what i mean.

Well I guess the laws of nature are God's laws....and He can do what He likes with them. The greatest mass murderers in history are the atheists. But you can rest happily ....knowing that the good will enjoy eternal bliss with God...not the evil :) Fair don't you think...not that it matters what you think! CATHOLIC STATE for me!
