Come on people. The Movies II is what we all want - we have to get it made and I don't care how. I loved this game more than life itself. For all the flaws and foibles and hair-raising difficulties, it allowed more originality and creativity than anything else I had ever played. It captured the spirit of being a kid making your own movies with friends in the back garden. And it was beautiful.

@hahagirl727TV There's a sandbox mode in The Movies, in which you can select how much money you want. I have it and it's an amazing game, too bad it had low sales, that caused it to go off sale :(

It would always equal out when you buy it, no matter the currency. I'm only saying it because Lionhead haven't made tonnes of games (compared to other companies, I know they made Fable xD) and each one they have made has been amazing so I think they deserve it

Can someone PLEASE help me? I want to install this game sooo bad but i have windows 7 and this pop up keeps coming up saying that i need to install the latest edition of mac. flash. So i looked it up and saw that some people have got viruses but i still downloaded it. So now i did it again and it still won't work.

@zingpick The problem is you have the version of this game designed for Mac computers. What you need to do is go on Amazon or eBay and buy the Windows version of this game. I hope that helps! =)

@andrewl3779 it means it got less succesfull than it deserves. while The Movies is both original and fun, not having a sequel in 6 years means it didn't sell very well. as opposed, for example, NFS games are overrated: same crap every year, and EA makes a shitload of money with it.

@omnisphera that's true the NFS games are fun but they keep making same stuff like 1 game has no free drive and then the sequel has free drive then the sequel has free drive WITH cops the the OTHER sequel has no free drive but some beauty stars to make you keep playing (that's NFS Shift it's almost the same asphalt something like that)

hi, i bought this game a few days ago and i got it to day. i tried to install it on my computer, i have windows 7, but it dident work:/ what have i done wrong? dosent it work with windows 7 or do i need to install a program or something? please reply someone, i really wanna play this game and it cost me 50 kr (7,76 dollars) btw the gameset included 3 discs, but the manual only talks about disc 1 in the installation guide:/

Yo, i need help. when in custom scriptwriting thing, those stars underneath the name of my movie, theres only two! (so i can only have a two star quality script) and i seen everyone else have like 5. Someone help me out here?

You need to progress further in the main game first before getting a max of 5 stars for a custom movie, For example: All years are locked in sandbox (exc.1920) until you progress to 2000. So when you go that far, your can choose any year you want, so if you only got up to 1980, you couldn't go higher than that in sandbox, so when you play the game enough and unlock the best scriptwriting office (5-stars) you will be able to unlock a 5-star movie (max) in the custom scriptwriting place.

I just got this game today and was wondering if you could help me out. I only want to focus on the AMM. As much as I want to, I don't have enough time to devote to the tycoon business part.

Using sandbox, I went in and tried to make a movie right off the start. But I noticed my sets were limited. I didn't have alot.

Do I have to unlock them? Does what you unlock in Tycoon mode go to AMM mode?

Most things you unlock in tycoon go into the AMM, So the only way you get pretty much get more sets or more specific stuff for your movies is to play out the tycoon part of the game, also if you have the expansion "The movies stunts and effects" You can get alot more stuff which makes the game alot better.

Really, you need to progress to 2000 in the main game before unlocking that year in sandbox, so its the same for a 5 star movie, you need to unlock a 5-star movie scriptwriting place before able to unlock it in sandbox

lionhead has no idea how the movies can be even better than the sims, they just need to release their simulation games away from another the sims expansion date. That is why The Movies dint selled as expected.

People were all looking forward to buy The sims 2.

@DJTechify It may not work well with the setup though, so just open a folder and in the side bar thing, click the disc under Computer, then find the setup.exe folder and right click and click run as administrator, thats the only problem ive had.

What I loved MOST about this game, beyond playability and the genius level design was the score. The music captured the eras so well. When you're the best studio in the 70's, descending from Hendrix into the 80s is just amazing.

This program needs Adobe After Effects to be really useful. I have a tutorial of how to do so. What's funny is, I have set out to make the best movie possible with this program, Strait to Hell, but has recieved hardly any views as opposed to amateurs. Probably because youtubers are just tired of seeing half-assed jobs done with this game.
