  • White wall tires were an option then...LOL....

  • Thats so funny $318.00 off are they crazy thats the 318 v8 engine just happens to be the same number or what??

    A833 4-speed manual

    A998/A999 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic

    Engine

    3.7 L Slant-6 I6

    5.2 L LA V8

    5.9 L LA V8

  • The Volare was selected as the ugliest car by Hollywood when they made the Batman movies. it was the car of choice driven by the Joker. Quite a distinction.

  • All American cars suck big time By Toyota that's real quality

  • @planetearth1210 Toyota could never make an engine as good as the slant6 chrysler completely engineered developed that motor and its the most reliable engine ever made.I would never buy toyota only american quality not a rice burner haha

  • I think that guy is Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

  • ROADRUNNER DECALS MADE IT FASTER TOO.............

  • These pieces of shite were well on there way to rusting through before they even left the dealership lot. I remember back in '77 my uncle bought one of these brand new, and we all went for a ride so he could show it off....it broke down on the way home. What a disgrace.

  • @dshmechanic I think that's the reason why they painted these rust buckets with the browns, tans, and oranges.. because it matched the inevitable rust!! LOL

  • I wish Plymouth could make a comeback, it would be amazing

  • I owned a blue 77 4 door with the mopar 318. it broke down all the time.

  • @madtownband what went wrong with it causing it to break down?

  • @jakesaintsrow123 Where do I start? These cars were the reason that Lee Iaccoca has to rescue Chrysler from bankruptcy. The major components were good (318 Mopar, T1 transmission) but everything else was an engineering nightmare. Example: the rear defrost consisted of a loud blower fan that cleared up your window after about 30 minutes on the highest setting.

  • Buying a volare in the next few days =P

  • Has anybody bought that Plymouth car before.

  • RIP Plymouth: 1929-2001

  • Funny they just happen to say $318.00 off haha the 318 V8 was one of their best engines except for the all time greatest dependable slant6 engine.Wish I could find a volare with a slant6 now i would jump at that even if it smoked heck yeah.!!

  • We had a gorgeous 1979 Plymouth Volarie red with red interior. That was beautiful car until my older borther totalled in 1985. Man, was my dad pissed. LOL!

  • the 1976-1980 Plymouth Volare was assembled in

    Hamtramck, Michigan, United States

    Bogotá, Colombia

    Mexico City, Mexico

  • @Annihilator1111 The Mexican Volare wasn't produced in Mexico City, Mexico, but in Toluca, Mexico. I know that because I live in Mexico and I know the Toluca Chrysler facility. By the way, the Volare was marketed as "Chrysler Valiant Volare" in Mexico.

    Best Regards.

  • and the new Fiat 500 is assembled in the Toluca plant

  • These cars are perhaps one of the most underrated Mopars in Chrysler history. Sure these car were made during the time when Chrysler was going broke and even the quality wasn't the greatest on their cars, but they were DAMN reliable. My 78 Volare Premiere Coupe has has some factory defects here and there, but nothing to throw a pisser over. It was special ordered from the factory with a E85 360 Police Package, and yet it rides like a smooth luxury car. It's fun and outstanding.

  • Wow, my family and myself always pronounced it "vole-air" instead of "val-ar-ee" all these years.

  • $318 better lmao

  • I own one of these cars

  • @DEMO12015 How many miles on the odometer now?

  • Its Sipowicz from NYPD Blue!

  • Was a manual even a option?

  • @12bucklemyshoe1 Yes indeed. A 4-spd. (Mexican) transmission with Overdrive. It was a very unusual transmission. The 3-spd. Torqueflite Automatic was the best.

  • I still occasionally see cars like this on the world, though not this exact model. They were really built to last, it seems.

  • @MattTheSaiyan I have one, it still runs great.

  • I just got one for my first car today

  • @thepersonwhowatchedt Congratulations. Depending on the year and condition, I think you'll really enjoy it. Very reliable.

  • Ooo ! An AM radio with a rear speaker !! Sweet ride !!!

  • @JoshuaTaylor LOL, nothing but the best !

  • I dedicate this commercial to my 1978 Plymouth Volare. I don't know what I would do without it.
