  • hey thanks for the video, I am from Edmonton AB, I just got my 09 fit DX-A yesterday

no power locks for the base model but is still an excellent car!

  • whats does the airbag button do?

  • Does this car run for a very long time?

  • Not sure I understand what you mean. It runs until it runs out of gas! ;)

  • Because I remember my grampa had a crap load of kilometers on it and it still ran as if it has only 100 kilometers.

  • And it was a 1992-1995 gen civic which he does not have anymore.

  • @KILLER0299 Im guessing that with proper maintenance you will get up to about 250,000 no problem. Honda engines are built to last.

  • Nice car.

  • Questions! You pulled up the Honda "cargo tray" and showed some type of organizer. What type of organizer is that? (brand name, name of item, etc.) And on that note, where's your spare tire now? It can't still be under that cool organizer, can it?

Thanks for the info... appreciated! :-)

  • Hi! Under that rubber mat tray thing is a set of compartments. It's a big one-piece unit that is part of the car. That is, there is no brand name. This takes the place of a spare tire which is not included in this car for weight issues. Many cars apparently don't come with a spare tire anymore! Instead one of the compartments has an air compressor and stuff you squirt into the tire to seal the leak. Apparently it's fine.

  • Honda also has that Roadside Assistance program where they will come and tow your car and fix your tire. So I guess they decided that with this program and the tire repair kit, a spare tire could be left out. That reduces the weight and gives more storage room. I really do like the way they added those 'secret' compartments under the floor. I put lots of stuff under there, including my cloth shopping bags and maps.

Thanks for the nice comments! :)

  • Did you drove the sport model? if you did whats the diference on the ride.

  • I test drove the sport model. That makes sense because they want you to buy that one! It was really nice - leather steering wheel and black fabric on the seats. But I found the ride to be the same. It's the same engine. The sport has alloy wheels though. I just found that the sport model had some more features but the base car was the same.

  • i never knew the base model was that nice!

  • I was quite surprised too. The interior feels really classy. It doesn't look or feel like a 'cheap' car with cheap plastic. Everything is black, silver, and grey. The steering wheel even feels sporty on the base model. It feels like an SUV inside, instead of a sub-compact car. I love it.

  • awesome car! i'm getting one at the end of this month. also, what's the title of your background music? sounds beautiful! :)

  • I actually wondered the same thing because I totally forgot. I used one off the Audio Swap files YouTube provides. I found out that the name of the songs in videos is under the 'Statistics & Data' link above. The tune I used is:

    Artist: Musicshake

    Song: Gentle Shuffle

    Time: 01:46

    Genre: Jazz

  • Whats your fav thing about this car?

  • I love that it's a small car yet doesn't feel small whatsoever. Everyone who sits inside says how big it feels. And since all the seats go down, it's like an SUV in the way you can haul awkward cargo. My sister called me to help her get her new gazebo home. It's funny when people call the guy with a small car to help move stuff!

  • i just saw a car that looked like the same as yours exept it wasnt urs.reply please

  • Reply for what? You didn't ask anything.

  • OH AND NICE car!:) ONE OF My favourite cars.but sadly,i have to get a kia rio instead, because the fit is too expensive for now for me especcally the base!:(

  • DO YOU NOTICE THE THAT THING ON THE ROOF ON the back right corner?reply plz

  • Not sure I understand what you're referring to. Do you mean the antenna? It's in the middle though.

  • you know that box thing inside your car on the top?like at 1:03 on the top right corner?

  • You can hardly see it in this video but it's actually a molded square with the seat belt for the center back seat. Someone sitting in the center seat would grab the seat belt attached to the roof and pull it down over their shoulder. The reason it's up there is so that the back seats can go down quickly without having to move seat belt straps out of the way. It's a really great design.

  • SLURPEE!!!! LoL

I wonder if this has a lawn mower engine cuz like what else could they fit under that hood besides one, reminds me of a geo metro on steroids.

  • I am a Slurpee addict and I live in the Slurpee capital of the world (Winnipeg)! People get a kick out of it when I'm parked at Sev.

The engine is really good actually. I don't find it loud, even on the highway. And it provides plenty of power and excellent gas mileage. I've been very impressed at the engine that they fit inside the hood!

  • hey, how much did you get your dx for? did you get any assessories ? becuase I am thinking about getting one too!

    it's just a sweet car

  • Thanks! I It came to $18,000 CAD. After I did calculations for other cars, it wasn't that much more. I am super pleased with it. The quality is fantastic for a small car and it has run very well this winter (I live in Winnipeg, Canada where we have daytime temperatures below -20C in December and January). My buddy who is 6' 3" and like 270lbs fits inside no problem. The quality is so much higher than the competition and it feels more like a small SUV than a small low-end vehicle.

  • IM GETTING A FIT!

  • Nice ride! I have a 09' Sport model (USDM) What song is this by the way?

  • Awesome! It seems like everyone gets the Sport model and that's why I thought I would put this vid on YouTube. When I was looking into Fits last year, every reviewer reviewed the Sport model. I think the Sport model should have come with a moonroof but then I again, I've always wanted a moonroof.

The song in this vid was just one of those AudioSwap jazzy instrumental tunes that you can choose to put over your file. It doesn't tell me the name of the one I chose which is weird!

  • The moon roof is wicked, I'm sure we didn't get it cause of higher cost & safety... sucks. That was a nice tune you added. It's something I could cruise to. Anymore future mods?

  • Wow, didn't even know that little hidden compartment beneath the rubber mat in the back existed. Thanks for the overview :).

  • It's a nice little place for those things that you don't want visible through the window! Thanks for the comment! :)

  • nice car!

  • Thanks for the comment! Everyone who's been inside has said it feels big for a small car. It's higher off the ground than a usual hatchback too so it feels more like a small SUV. I'm really enjoying it. Thanks again!

  • totally! Does that rubber trunk mat come standard?

  • No. Honda doesn't seem to give floor mats standard. They make it an option for like $180 extra which is absolutely ridiculous. With winter and spring especially, floor mats protect the carpeted interior. Without them and you'd have mud, sand, and dirt everywhere.

Because I had to wait for my Fit to arrive from Japan, I asked them to throw in the all-season floor mats for me. They agreed and the rubber trunk mat came with the other mats. It's really nice because it's easy to clean!
