They said it was to improve visibility, but the visibility here is fine, plus you feel more immersed in the game with a proper driving position like the one here =/

To any of those wondering, this game has the exact same damage models as Forza2...by no means is the damage/roll overs "realistic" like one of the recent developer interviews!
I, personally, was hoping for a full on sim...meaning damage like that seen in Burnout Paradise, where your car is totalled when you crash at 100+MPH! Based off the "trailer", I thought that was how it was going to be and the main reason for the Rewind feature.

I used to be a GT fanboy, until I finally got sick of the same garbage game after game. I loved Forza 2 and will be getting Forza 3 when it comes out. I sold my PS3 because of lack of games. Outside of MGS4 I had no reason to get a PS3 anyway. Forza 3 will likely be better than GT5 anyway. Everything I have seen on GT5 doesn't impress me much, considering the wait on it. No doubt I would have GT5 is I had a PS3, but its not worth it to buy another.

my problem with GT5, is that they have openly admitted their not doing everything on he same scale, some cars recieve more realisitic damage than others. I dident say how the car handles I said how the car acts in REAL life with about 500-700 parameters to effect the physics (GT4). if you ever cared to actually learn how to tune/drive a car in GT, theres endless ways to alter how the car performs with different driving styles. Playing both GT and Forza, GT does NOT have realistic physics. Yeah, that's why it was a surprise for me the first time when I played Forza in a RWD car, took a corner and spun out. Do you know why I was surprised? Because in GT you can hammer it in any car around a turn and simply understeer, but not have to worry about flat out spinning out. Play both games, and then you'll have a good idea about what you are saying. Plus are you a rep. for GT? You make yourself sound like one...
In Forza, WITH TCS on, in a RWD car it is not difficult to spin out a car in a turn. When I take TCS off...I can do donuts in an AWD car.
And I turned on GT4 recently after having played Forza 2 ever since, and I am sorry to say the handling was complete garbage. I used to think GT was the be all, end all. It the graphics department it is, but in physics, I am sorry, you simply haven't played Forza and come to terms with the reality that Forza's physics are superior.

Hahaha i'm not a Forza fanboy, I love GT graphics but I got an 360 and wanted my racing sim so tried Forza and after playing it I found it has more realistic physics.
ive got to afree with divadkab on this one. I played GT1-4...and was at around 98% (yes, i did almost all of the endurance races) in GT4 before i ever played Forza 1. Unless you have played Forza, GT, AND driven a car on a track...you can not credibly say which of the games is a better simulation. I have played the Gran Turismos and played the Forzas and have drive at race speeds on a race track and can tell you without a doubt, Forza is WAY closer to the real thing.

Forza developers focused their development on the reaction and physics of the cars and road surfaces.
Polyphony however, only concentrated on how the road surfaces and neglected physics of the cars. Polyphony stated themselves once in a interview they mainly focus on the road and tire contacts because thats what simulating the real driving is like.

It's an R10. Screw it. It's gonna be an awesome game, and maybe the audio isn't recorded as well as it actually is. The car sounds of FM2 were actually accurate to a degree. They just didn't sound as crisp. I've seen some other footage on here that's gonna make the next two months feel a lot longer.

Forza is IMO more realistic. I have owned all gran turismos and Forzas. I like both, but prefer Forza!
Maybe its just the way I like to play, but I hate the driving assists and can't drive with ABS on or auto trans. If you turn all the assists off, that is when Forza really shines, unlike GT. If I remember right GT4 had trucks in it, how gay is that!
Lol, the rewind is so even casual players can have fun too, just like atuomatic transmisions, abs, traction, stability, racelines, ect... it can all be turned off for a hardcore race fan and that's when Forza comes into a class of it's own!!!
As for the driver shifting, they had that in Forza 1, 8 years ago it's a pretty safe bet the released version of Forza 3 will have the driver shifting the car, and stearing the wheel. Considering both Forza 1 and Forza 2 had it =)

1000 cars will have cockpit view. GT5 releases this fall. Know your shit before you talk smack. 160 cars have damage right now but they will be adding more including future freeupdates. Crash damage is something I won't even see because I don't drive like a dumbass smacking into walls and crashing into other cars. GT5 wins hands down

yep. only 170 cars have damage(prolly the WRC and nascar ones) and as for the rest nothing. out of those 1000 cars i expect them to have 300-500 cockpits, not all the cars. GT5 prologue had 70 cars and like ten didn't have cockpits.
I have owned all of the gran turismos and both of the forzas. From my experience both are very good games. And Forza is NOT a arcade racing game.
I prefer Forza because you can do more to your car both tuning and visual. Now with the addition Forza 3 I think Gran turismo 5 is going to be delayed again, because they are going to have to compete with what Forza 3 offers.
Actually alot of cars on this game are made out of plastic, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and or a combination of the 3. Most of the D and C class cars have plastic pannels my 1997 Saturn did, best idea ever, they are designed to be dent proof!!!
While the 99% of the S-R1 Classes will most likley all be carbon fiber, or fiber galss!!!

I used to be a GT fanboy, until I finally got sick of the same garbage game after game. I loved Forza 2 and will be getting Forza 3 when it comes out. I sold my PS3 because of lack of games. Outside of MGS4 I had no reason to get a PS3 anyway. Forza 3 will likely be better than GT5 anyway. Everything I have seen on GT5 doesn't impress me much, considering the wait on it. No doubt I would have GT5 is I had a PS3, but its not worth it to buy another.

It has been confirmed no shift animation for forza 3. Christ, NFS has shift animation.
Also no active aerodyanmic breaking on bugatti, even GT PSP has this feature.
Also theres still no day/night racing, or dynamic weather.
Good try Turn10, wait until Forza 4 when you actually add new features.

i never said gt5 has realistic damage. it has good damage. have you ever drove a car over 100mph? or better yet even drove a car? because if you smack into a wall going that fast your pretty much dead. its a video game. no video game will have 100% real damage without it being no fun. it has good damage. which im very happy with. and i like the fact that each car feels diferent better than even having damage.

my problem with GT5, is that they have openly admitted their not doing everything on he same scale, some cars recieve more realisitic damage than others. WHY the fuck would you do it halfway? if your going to it, do it right, or at least have all the cars with equal scale of damage modeling, but i guess halfass only equals perfection to a GT fan. "But hey, we have 1000 cars!" ummm, yeah, you sure do, now run along.

GT5 doesnt need damage, they focus entirely on how the car should act normally not what if your dumbass hits a barrier and gets the same damage effect everytime. Gt5 left out damage for the most part because it cant be perfected realisticly and thats what gt5 strides for. Btw forza doesnt even have great damage anyway... GT:5 was to compete with forza 2... I dident say how the car handles I said how the car acts in REAL life with about 500-700 parameters to effect the physics (GT4). if you ever cared to actually learn how to tune/drive a car in GT, theres endless ways to alter how the car performs with different driving styles. Playing both GT and Forza, GT does NOT have realistic physics. Yeah, that's why it was a surprise for me the first time when I played Forza in a RWD car, took a corner and spun out. Do you know why I was surprised? Because in GT you can hammer it in any car around a turn and simply understeer, but not have to worry about flat out spinning out. Play both games, and then you'll have a good idea about what you are saying. Plus are you a rep. for GT? You make yourself sound like one...

In Forza, WITH TCS on, in a RWD car it is not difficult to spin out a car in a turn. When I take TCS off...I can do donuts in an AWD car.
And I turned on GT4 recently after having played Forza 2 ever since, and I am sorry to say the handling was complete garbage. I used to think GT was the be all, end all. It the graphics department it is, but in physics, I am sorry, you simply haven't played Forza and come to terms with the reality that Forza's physics are superior.

Lol forza must be easy to play, computer assisted and such, GT4 is a much better simulator, and until you can find one major with the physics, my opinion stays that way. takes alot more skill to control a car in gt4 than forza. GT4 doesnt have an off/on option for TCS, its 0-10

The only reason why you think GT4 is easier to play is because you haven't played or barely played Forza to form an unbiased opinion. So what that GT4 has a 0-10 scale for TCS? Does any car have a 0-10 scale for TCS? I HAVE seen cars however with TCS on/off. So I don't understand what point you are trying to make.
Until you play Forza your voice means much less seeing as I have completed 90 odd % of GT4, and over 50% completed Forza 2.

ive got to afree with divadkab on this one. I played GT1-4...and was at around 98% (yes, i did almost all of the endurance races) in GT4 before i ever played Forza 1. Unless you have played Forza, GT, AND driven a car on a track...you can not credibly say which of the games is a better simulation. I have played the Gran Turismos and played the Forzas and have drive at race speeds on a race track and can tell you without a doubt, Forza is WAY closer to the real thing.

Forza developers focused their development on the reaction and physics of the cars and road surfaces.
Polyphony however, only concentrated on how the road surfaces and neglected physics of the cars. Polyphony stated themselves once in a interview they mainly focus on the road and tire contacts because thats what simulating the real driving is like.

It's an R10. Screw it. It's gonna be an awesome game, and maybe the audio isn't recorded as well as it actually is. The car sounds of FM2 were actually accurate to a degree. They just didn't sound as crisp. I've seen some other footage on here that's gonna make the next two months feel a lot longer.

If you dont own both consoles and both games then I dont think you have a right to discuss which is better. Personally I own both and I'm really baffled at how any PS3 owner can argue that GT5 is better. I play both and honestly Forza's damage to exterior, axles, clutch, drive train, steering, wheels, fuel, and gear box is much better physics than well GT5's nothing. Especially when playing GT5 I glide against walls & hit other cars to help me turn & brake better. How is this better physics?!

...But:
1. The gameplay of Forza is better, realistic,
2. Forza has more tuning options
3. Forza has also VISUAL tuning options...
4. Forza has it's own painting feature which let's you paint with unlimited possibilities.
5. Forza has more tracks, and cockpits of all cars (instead of only 170 cockpits)
And this all runs on 60FPS!

You can turn Rewind and Auto-Brake off, so that's just an excuse. And actually you don't look good at trailers and stuff because the driver was already shifting gears since Forza 1.

Forza is IMO more realistic. I have owned all gran turismos and Forzas. I like both, but prefer Forza!
Maybe its just the way I like to play, but I hate the driving assists and can't drive with ABS on or auto trans. If you turn all the assists off, that is when Forza really shines, unlike GT. If I remember right GT4 had trucks in it, how gay is that!

Lol, the rewind is so even casual players can have fun too, just like atuomatic transmisions, abs, traction, stability, racelines, ect... it can all be turned off for a hardcore race fan and that's when Forza comes into a class of it's own!!!
As for the driver shifting, they had that in Forza 1, 8 years ago it's a pretty safe bet the released version of Forza 3 will have the driver shifting the car, and stearing the wheel. Considering both Forza 1 and Forza 2 had it =)

yep. only 170 cars have damage(prolly the WRC and nascar ones) and as for the rest nothing. out of those 1000 cars i expect them to have 300-500 cockpits, not all the cars. GT5 prologue had 70 cars and like ten didn't have cockpits.

I have owned all of the gran turismos and both of the forzas. From my experience both are very good games. And Forza is NOT a arcade racing game.
I prefer Forza because you can do more to your car both tuning and visual. Now with the addition Forza 3 I think Gran turismo 5 is going to be delayed again, because they are going to have to compete with what Forza 3 offers.
Don't get me wrong I like both, but prefer Forza

Actually alot of cars on this game are made out of plastic, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and or a combination of the 3. Most of the D and C class cars have plastic pannels my 1997 Saturn did, best idea ever, they are designed to be dent proof!!!

the higher price doesnt mean the ps3 is better. ever tried the "real driving simulator"? gt5 feels like driving shopping carts, there is no damage at all, engine sounds suck .... neverending story

no the damage is off they were still weeding out all of the bugs with damage so they kept it on Asthetic damage only.
I was woried about that to but my brother asked about that when he was at E3 and told me thats what they said
