  • @megalodonNL

dont bother other ppl, there will be always some di*kheadz that will insult anyone just because they can!

  • this keyboards is just a MIDI controller. what it mean? you NEED to have SOFTWARE like Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools, or any software SYNTHESIZER to use this keyboard!! if you want keyboard that u can play without plugging it to a computer, go for synthesizer/digital piano.

    cheers!!!

  • thanks

  • do i need all 88 keys or should i go for the 61

  • hi there, I have a question for those who have tis keystation. is it essential to connect it woth your pc? because i just want to put it in the normal socket. is that possible, or am I just asking too much? I want to use it like a normal piano without having to connect it to my pc. looking forward for answers:P

  • Hi! i just bought a M-audio 61es. But im having a hard time to set it up. I already did everything on the manual but it still doesn't work. When i press the keys, the sound doesn't come out. Do I have to download a music software or anything? Can anybody help me, pls? i will very appreciate that.

  • @raymond041591 Aye up chap. Erm usually you will need to download software e.g. cubase. Search for how to download it free on youtube, I found a vid and it worked; incredibly haha. But that's it I imagine and then it's dead simple once you have the program installed. Just message me if anything else comes up mate :D

  • I'm sorry guys but are you all retarded?

  • @wildrocks123 YES, it is a midi controller ONLY. no audio out, no built in sounds, only midi signals.

  • What's the music in the beginning?

  • please.... what is the background melody??? is it from you??? ... perfect video!!!... please tell me what is this for a background music... it will be veeeeeeeryyyyy frendly wen you tell me...

  • Does it have any output jack? where the sound come from?

  • maaaaannn i can't set this damn thing up can some one help me this user guide needs pics for dumb asses like my self i cant get the sound to play or any thing

  • Nice review, smile.

  • can't do jack with a semi....

  • @AntiPirateSquad

true you cant jack with a semi

  • Hello there! what do you recomend? this 88es or the oxygen 61? I'm waiting for your answer!

  • @PowerOfStrings I'm trying to decide between this and the Yamaha Mox8....because my problem with this is you have to be sitting at the computer all day to get sounds and mixes...whereas the mox8 can be played like a normal piano unplugged from the computer but at the same time gets effects and can store mixes that you can transfer over later on...of course, one is 249 and the other is 1699 for a reason...but if only the M-audio could be used like a normal piano without a computer, I'd be sold...

  • How to set m-audio keystation 88es on windows 7? I just bought it and don't know what to do!

  • Does this keyboard have built in speakers? or do you need some sort of amp?

  • Do the weighted keys change the sounds? Like the harder you press them the louder it plays?

  • @ianh97 It's velocity sensitive. So yes.

  • can i use this keyboard with a laptop and with an amplifier using adapters?

  • hey, they say that M-audio Prokeys has too noisy keys (compared to the 88es)... is it true?

  • hi, a question, i've seen the input for sustain/switch pedal but...can i use both?? I always use the sustain pedal but i would need also the switch pedal and i need a keyboard that let me do it.

    Thanks

  • I've got this keyboard and I love it.

  • hi

    i actually hav one querry...

can i use a midi controller like this one along with a sound module like yamaha qy100 and make it sound like an advanced keyboard....??

    thanks..!!!

  • can an expression pedal be used with the volume pedal in port to control any midi parameter or just volume?

  • I have a question, I have requested, to school, a keyboard with weighted keys. I see that this gave them to semi-weighted, this is fine?

  • whats a good grand piano software for pc?

  • HOW LARGE IS IT!? I MEAN HOW MANY CM!?

    THANKS ANYONE

  • @EruHighVoltage It's about 1,3 meters or 53"

  • will the included software alone allow me to play? (i.e. will i need to buy or download plug ins, other software, etc. or does the included software have everything i need to start playing?)

  • Price Range? what is it? How different is it from the other 88 key keyboards? Cus im looking 2 buy a 88 key keyboard / piano

  • how do you transpose??

  • I appreciate if you'd help me with few questions. I've understood that there are no speakers on the device, but instead you need to use the computer. If that's so, will the sound just come out from my computers speakers and does it require good sound card to avoid the lag between pressing the key and the sound coming out from my speakers? Also, are there many different sounds like "string ensemble" and "synth effect" and if there is, how do you choose between them? Thanks already!

  • hi i what know the name of the song on the back

    you play that?

    Can give me the score?

  • Would you mind firing up a Live-version of Ubuntu Studio and check if if works there? It is a bit difficult to find reviews of the keyboard for other OSes than Windows.

  • Hey man, can you please tell me the name of the song playing in the back ground? I'd really appreciate it!

    Tobs

  • where did you purchase this keyboard bro and can u tell me how much

  • can you play thru usb and midi out at the same time

well i install everything right and i use a live6.01 lite

    something like tat

but the audio reaction is really slow..

i put track delay to -1.0

but still the reaction is slow will you plzz help me

  • Always glad to see someone properly produce/edit a review video. I appreciate the fact you didn't just sit there and ramble while filming with 1 hand.

  • what is the advanced functions button for? thanks!

  • I am probably going to get this keyboard. But I have two questions about it.

my first question is, does it have a built in speaker?

My second question depends on the answer to the first. If it does not have a built in speaker, how much would it to be to buy one?

My third question is can I hook it up to my guitar amplifier?

Thank you if you do answer my questions. So please do answer.

  • @jakespidermonkey948 That's three questions.

    1. No.

    2. This is not a keyboard, it's a MIDI controller. You need to hook it up to a sampler or synth (usually on your computer).

    3. No, because once again, this does not have any audio.

  • Is it possible to transpose pitch with the octave buttons? And what can you do with the "Advance Functions" button?

  • Nice video, sorry but i speak spanish. ¿Puedo usar este controlador con el yamaha motif rack es y otra pregunta, se puede controlar el sintetizador motif rack desde el teclado, o hay algún teclado midi que haga eso? Muchas Gracias (Thank You so much)

  • do synths and piano and bass sounds come with it in the softwear or somthing?

  • @neosouljazz To clear up any confusion. This is not a so-called 'keyboard.' It is a MIDI controller. What this means is that it does not make sounds itself, it just transmits data regarding the note, pitch, etc. to a synthesizer or software such as Ableton, FL Studio, etc.

  • Is the modulation wheel suppose to be spring loaded?. Just bought this keyboard and mine isn't.

  • do u need to use the software to hear the piano.

  • @Clo13579 : this key controller don't have any sounds, but it's bundled with ableton software for pc to hear any sounds...

  • tiene aftertouch?

  • Hi, i have the m-audio prokeys sono 88 & when i plug it into my laptop i cant get any sound from it? would you know why?

& if i bought the adapter would you have to buy speakers to plug into it?

please reply, dont no what to do :(

    thanksss

    x

  • what camera do you use?

  • what camera have you used to film this? xx

  • Has anybody told you have some resemblance with John Lennon?

  • I wonder if it is possible to make a vibrato with the pitch bend without making a bend on this keyboard?

  • hey what's the song called that you have playing in the background for majority of the video? I'm hearing it everywhere lately and found a small part of it and have learned that so far by ear and i'm really wanting to learn the rest of it, it's been driving me nuts lately because i'm honestly hearing it everywhere lol

  • is it cd in teh pacaked?

  • is it headphone compatible?

  • m-audio makes great products, but their studio monitors are weak, any monitor less than $100, is bad

  • 1:52

  • That wasn't a review. Sorry.

  • Don´t buy Hardware, buy a Haircut first! But...good Review! ;)

  • what is the advanced button for....???midi channel change??

  • what is a controller? can I use it as a digital piano if i plug speakers??? or do i have to be connected to a computer to use???

  • it's just a controller. but there is a simillar keyboard with sounds but a bit higher price tag

  • whats the name of the program?i got the keyboard with no program(used)

  • ableton live.

  • ableton live 8

  • Do you think this would be a good option for my 15 year old who has been taking piano lessons for 5 years now. We have a piano and he spends lots of time on it creating his own music, I thought it might be nice to give him a way to plug into his computer so that he can create a larger variety of music.

  • well i think it´s always a good thing to plug it in and everything, but the production programms are very difficult to learn.

  • Yeah maybe. But it doesn't carry the weighted action that a real piano has. I would get to guitar center and buy the yamaha kx8 for 300. It was 800 and it has the weighted action....just my own opinion.

  • @WynGator for 15 year old who are taking years of piano lesson i think the yamaha M3 is the best or roland juno g or rd-700

  • @WynGator, just keep in mind that a controller like this does not have any audio capabilities; it's only for controlling an external sound engine (software or hardware). Something like the slightly more expensive Casio CDP100 functions as a standalone instrument and also outputs MIDI - so it can be used as a controller as well. Not dissing the M-Audio, but I know that it can be a real drag to want to play and have to wait for the computer to boot up, open the software, load an instrumnt patch...

  • i would rather save $200 more and get the keystation pro 88

  • can you provide a comparison about the feel of these keys versus a controller from the Axiom series? The keys look identical, and are described in both cases as "semi weighted", but I'd like to hear from someone who has actually used them.

  • does this works d same with macbook pro?

  • is it just plug and play or need to connect to speakers to produce sound?

  • Why are there 'octave +/-' buttons on it, if it's a full (88-keys) controller?

You shouldn't need to switch octaves on a full controller, right?

  • You wouldn't have thought so, but because it is a MIDI controller, it is designed to be used with Virtual Instruments. Some VST's can go up tens of octaves, and this keyboard allows for that, such as an electronic instrument that doesn't really physically exist.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks for the quick answer.

I might get this MIDI controller. I have Pro Tools and bought myself an Axiom 25, but after I purchased the Axiom 25 I realised I want to learn to play the keys (for which the Axiom 25 is just too damn small).

Do you like the semi-weighted keys?

  • I don't particularly like them, to me they are the worst part of the whole keyboard. If you are looking for good keys, try Yamaha, Roland or a decent Casio. But for the price, they could be worse.

  • @Techwebolution hello, I just got my Keystation 88es yestserday and it works fine but i was just wondering if i could hook it up to an amp?

    Please answer haha thanks

  • @Metalsk8er486 no it doesnt have sounds tha amp needs to b connected to your soundcard on your pc which runs to your monitors this just triggers sounds in your DAW

  • @cripoutloc yaaa i got it all figured out now haha

    i tought myself :D

    but thanks :)

  • @haapri

When you work with electro acustic sound design a "octave +/- " function is very important, if you wanna check out, you can listen some effects that i use in my own soundtrack in my channel here in Youtube.

    Regards,

    Eduardo Caetano

  • Are you overall happy with it? I am going to learn how to play and am considering getting this. I have a pretty good pc so it wont lag or anything will it? And does it come with any piano software or do i need to get something like fl studio for the sounds?

  • For beginners it is perfect, unless you want to become a brilliant pianist. To really learn to play properly, you need to feel the weight of the keys, that will help you develop fingering techniques much more quickly, however, if you just wanna muck around with some sounds and play a few song you know, this would be perfect.

    Thanks for the comment,

    Chris @ TechWebolution

  • @Techwebolution I am considering buying this one, - but - I have played keyboard/piano for several years, however never on a professional level, and I play by ear. This autumn I will start taking piano lessons, first of all to learn how to read notes, and I am wondering if this is good to practice on? Cause I want to make music myself, as I do now, but I wanna use one of the music programs for PC, and I really don`t have room for a piano...so will this do? I`m thinking about the "key issue"...

  • And, it does come with some software, but Fl Studio is a much better option.

  • I was just wondering, does this controller come with any pre-recorded sounds, or do you have to plug it into something in order to use it?

Also, I just wanted to make sure that the output on the back would allow this to control a non-computer synthesizer. My plan is to get this and then once I get the money get a MicroKorg Synth or something along those lines.

    Thanks man, and great review.

  • Thanks for your comment. The basis of the 88es is to just act as a MIDI controller with no built in sounds. You would have to hook it up to a computer and run some kind of audio software such as Ableton or Garageband to make sounds.

As for connecting it to a non-computer synthesizer, that should work fine. As long as the synth has a MIDI input there should be no problems.

    Hope this helps,

    Chris @ TechWebolution

  • Alright sweet, thanks.

Do you like Ableton, or have heard good things about it? I've heard great things about Garageband but I don't have a Mac so I'm trying to look for something else.

Lastly, do you think that this would be a better keyboard to learn piano on than a 61 key? Or is there not much of a difference.

Sorry for all the questions haha, but thanks again.

  • I'm new to VSTs, having tried FL Studio and Ableton. For just tone generation, I found Ableton a simpler software to use. FL Studio has a cluttered interface that confused me.

As a learner, the 61 Key option should be fine. Most teachers would prefer their students learn on a full size keyboard, but rarely does a beginner encounter a piece that pushes past the range of 61 keys.

  • hey man. Thnx for the review!

What is the advanced functions button for?

  • I myself have never used it, but it is for advanced MIDI functionality in software such as Logic or Ableton. The keys can have functionalities such as acting as a record button and stuff like that.

Hope this helps, Chris @ TechWebolution

  • nice It better than mine.. :)

  • Thanks for the comment, what do you currently have?

  • its a Yamaha, Model: something I don't remember

  • Great review :D

  • Thanks!
