Maya Beiser is the most unique and amazing cellist. I saw her at TED conference on tuesday (where she played Kashmir!!!) and then again on the big stage on Wednesday playing two haunting multimedia works she commissioned. You could hear people breathing, totally engrossed and mesmerized by the sheer genius of this unbelievably talented young woman. Many people woke up when she finished playing, as if from a trance, before the thunderous standing ovation. Cello Goddess indeed.

The fusion of Metal and Symphony is truly amazing! Maya plays with such passion too, I love it!

the cello brings the song to a new light. gives it an almost eeire sound but the way she played it with the vibrato's and constant pitch and tone changes on the notes was beautiful. so full of emotion

Like while watching American Idol which I normally don't do, Simon Cowell said to not use weird faces since they're bad, if I would be the singer, I would have said "fuck you!" on live TV and explain, he surely doesn't understand too.
