From the moment I heard this track on the Uptight LP in 1966, I recognized the Four Tops accompanying him, What you have to remember, Motown still had a family atmosphere then and it was commonplace for whoever was available to sing on each other's records. It was rare for anybody to be credited (the Vandellas on the early Marvin Gaye hits being a notable exception) - remember Lou Rawls' uncredited accompanyment on Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home"?. Anyway, best version of the song, hands down!
I was 10 when I heard the up tight album, I got stuck on Stevie Wonder then. The first music I ever purchased with my own money was My Cheri Amor on a 45 record. Now as far as the Four Tops on this cut I'm sure they worked out some type of deal before hand. No doubt a Motown thing!

That's definitely Duke,Obie and Lawrence in the background. It SHOULD have been credited to Stevie and The Four Tops.

This should be credited Stevie Wonder and The Four Tops.

Why would it be credited to The Four Tops? Levi Stubbs was the only one on the track, not the whole group.

Your not listening to the background, thats the other tops.

They weren't credited with an appearance. Unless I'm missing it. If you got a link or something that says as much I'll be happy to change it.

Im not saying they were credited anywhere, just the fact they can be heard on the song.
