The UFO was very small compared to the rocket and looked nothing like this cgi remake.

That ain't no animated simulation. Animated simulations cannot accomplish this effect without seeming utterly fake. Examples abound Rovers on Mars, unmanned probes asteroid flybys, those are really fake. Additionally part of the footage was aired on CNN without the animated simulation caption.
