Oohh! Regardless, I think you made a work of art with this video, so keep the video, at least. Very cool all the dynamics, mwah, vibrato, and slapping on a fretless. Work of art.
Wow really good groove! I love when you start mixing up the slapping and vibrato towards the end. Good feel! And I love the sound of your instrument the Pedulla buzz. Very inspiring... Cheers, JJC
Great playing! And I looove the sound of this bass! Am tempted to plonk a ton of money and acquire one. I have a Fender Jaco Artist Series bass, which btw also sound great in an all-passive way, but this to me seems even better!
@blorevicproject Good thing for you, there's actually a red fretless Pedulla almost just like this on ebay right now, for $1200. Search ebay for "Pedulla Fretless Bass (Buzz)"
I have a fender jazz bass fretless, but my bass can't ''sing'' like your bass, is more dark the sound (also with new round strings). I think the pickups are farther from the bridge than the pickups of your bass (sorry if my vocabulary is wrong, i am chilean, i talking in spanglish) but may also be that your amp responds better to the sing of a fretless. I have thought install a pickup near the bridge. what do you think?
@rcsmith67 thanks but I'm only a bad imitation of the real pro's like the late Mick Karn or Pino Palladino and John Giblin. Just listening to a lot of people and trying to intonate well (still hard after many years). It still remains a challenge but that is the fun of playing fretless : sometimes it's just bad and sometimes you are a bit more lucky :-) Thanks for the response and enjoy the bass !
What is the fretboard material? Also, I hear that Pedulla fretless basses have a finish on the fretboard for roundwound string use, do you know what that finish is?
@dinges : i always think that there are no restrictions and no rules (otherwise we would still be playing like fourty years ago). If I feel like slapping I should have the freedom to do so. A good example of slapping on fretless :" You can call me Al" (Paul Simon), a song which opened up a lot of ears or "Frustration" (Joan Armatrading). Everything is possible in music (sorry to have disappointed you)
Why is it that people always start slapping when playing bass..especially on fretless, it's terrible. You are a great example of how NOT to play bass, so stop.
@dinges slapping is a style of playing. i dont see why you are upset by his slapping when the purpose of the video is to demonstrate the sound of his Pedulla. and slapping on a fretless is awesome. especially on upright, its really hard to do but when you get it right it sounds great. you don't know what your talking about
The best fretless bass video I've ever seen!!! Man u r good!!! Keep it up!

@squiresuzuki Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I couldn't find it on ebay. There was only a Pentabuzz (5) blue one.

@blorevicproject Are you sure? I can still see it there. Here's the link (add a dot before the com):
