People on welfare started moving in and rather than taking care of the neighborhood they contributed to the decline that lasted over 30 years. Well no dear I was born and raised in Bklyn. Born and bred. I was born in the Williamsburg area and then moved to Bushwick. It is only a few blocks difference. I am not from the city nor do I owe a cafe. There was a lot of factories. They still exist but unfortunately people have lost their jobs and it has been converted to high paying lofts.
