As long as parents and teachers keep giving these kids the "I don't care" attitude, then the kids are going to say "Well I dont care either." It has to be give and take on both sides, not just "Well, those kids are stupid and criminals and dont deserve to be in school and should just go learn a trade, dig a ditch, or die." Because I'll tell you one thing: you can be a rich, intelligent, educated person and STILL be a criminal. EVERYBODY knows it's true.

It's way back in the 80s, but the problem is still the same.. Even though the students are aweful, the teachers are worse because they confirm exactly what the kids think: they can never make it, so let's just become criminals. Those teachers are not formed to work in those schools and it hasn't changed a bit.

@reuscmar It's not the students, nor the teachers. It's the insane idea that every kid is able to go to school. Some kids can't handle it and should be learning a trade or digging ditches.

Actually, that makes sense. On the other hand, we need structure and if we give every kid the choice, it's just not gonna work. I still think the teacher should have a better pedagogic background to deal with children. It's just not enough to know the stuff they teach, they need to know how to deal with youngsters!
