does anyone understands what is whritten in hierogliphes on red cards when the countdown finishes? looks like egyptian simbols. I looked at an online hierogliph dictionary, and i only understand 3 letters, 1-s/z, 2-o,3-(unknown),4-a,5-(unknown­)

Not 100% sure, but I believe the hieroglyphs say Jacob. Ancient egyptians wrote left to, right, right to left and up & down. The letters left to right (if im not mistaken are C,O,B, A, J Because the last two leters are in red they are read first and right to left JA.. and the last 3 letters are in black so they are read right to left BOC So you have JA-COB. (you got the first & second letter right, but the first letter can be read as S,C,Z or X

Jakob and his brother are no gods, they only have to keep the light in the isle. Jakob only bring these people to the isle because he need one to replace himself, because if no one keep the light in the isle it would sink to the ground of the ocean. It's never really fully explained what exactly will happen, but there are hints throughout the show.

Essentially, the computer is there to discharge an electromagnetic "anomaly" that builds up within a sealed area of the station every 108 minutes. If the button isn't pressed and/or the failsafe isn't activated, then it's implied that all life on Earth would end.
