Gaughank, you said it all in your phrase. These artist's and song s we grew up with have withstood the stands of time and remained part of our lives as we grown older. I can think back of actually going to clubs, dressing with nice leather jackets, women in skirts, looking feminine and just enjoy being a guy asking a lady to dance etc. No ball caps or tatoos, how different but great.

Kind of sad, this was the music I grew up with in Boston back in the 70's. I am 51 years old and realize when I hear this music that although it was great it is also sad because this was real music and unless we listen to it like this then we will never hear it in today's times. Think I'm lying? Name someone or band that has something original like this that moves the soul, tells a story etc? This also talks to when us men had chivalry and women enjoyed it.

@leesa007 I read that Teddy Pendergrasss wanted it to be called Teddy Pendergrass and the Blue Notes. That led to him getting kicked out of the group around 1977. He was singing lead on a lot of tunes.
