you use layers for each object that you draw in the animation so that the other objects cannot be affected if you make some changes with one of your drawings

it is the same as adding music, but instead of adding the sound at the begining of the movie, add it when the sound effect will be played. For example if it is a kick sound effect add it when he is hit by the kick. Just make a keyframe when you want it to be added then in the properties panel, click on the dropdown menu beside the word "sound" and select your sound. But it must be in your library.
