Efterklang is like Sigur Ros flavored Arcade Fire

@kehandrew Much as I like Arcade Fire, Efterklang are a much more interesting band; there is a lot more variety between their albums, and they are far more willing to experiment with their sound. Arcade Fire have written some excellent anthems, but Efterklang make beautiful, understated music. Only Sigu Rós beat them in the pantheon of greatness.

@shannibobs, I am not disagreeing with you, but I do think you missed the point of my statement. I was not trying to say Sigur Ros or the Arcade fire were better than Efterklang or the other way around. I was simply stating similar qualities in their music makeup. E.G. the ambiance and obvious European influences of Sigur Ros and the cult-like multi instrument ensemble of the Arcade Fire. In my opinion(which all music taste is btw) Efterklang is a better band than A.F. especially their livestuff

D: What happened to my favourite band!?!??! It has lost that twinkle which attracted me to them in the first place. The mystery and understanding. What I hear is so 'main-stream' it pratically hurts. I hope the rest of their album isn't like this.

If indie wank sounded like this, then indie wank would not be wanky. QED. Whenever a band does something different it will always alienate some, yet attract others, and that's fair enough; bands have to keep changing and updating in order to stay fresh. They could have made another Parades, but that'd be dull, that record's been made. This record may be their most accessible, but that doesn't make it bad, it's still a beautifully crafted and layered thing, written by superbly gifted songwriters.
