Absolutely beautiful video! This is the only thing I've seen in some time that actually makes me want to be a mechanic again. But, sad to say, I think the days of the internal combustion engine is numbered. It will be a sad day indeed. I guess though, you could always make your own bio-fuel. I fear a day will come that the government will levy heavy taxes on anyone who continues to operate fossil fuel vehicles. Or any combustion type engine in order to get people to convert to electric.

As far as I'm aware, a two stroke, no matter what you did to it, would never pass Euro IV emissions standards. Far as I'm aware, the last manufacturer to make them was GM, and they stopped production in the 1970s. Heaps of power, but they have issues with emissions, fuel consumption, reliability and noise.

I used to work for OKA motor company. They manufacture 4WD trucks in Western Australia, and their standard engine is the Perkins Phaser 4 cylinder. Some of these engines had literally done a million miles before being reconditioned, and the only thing that ever went wrong with them was clogged injectors, and oil leaks

I have twin Perkins natually aspirated in my 43 ft Gulfstar. 37 years old and still run for hours on end without any problems. Just change the oil-filters and fuel filters...Have no idea how many hours on them...Rust will probably be my worse enemy...Did the injectors once, probably not needed. 2 1/2 MPG ON MY Flowscans may even be higher, at 1600 RPM's

Have been Fla to NY, NY to Cape Cod twice, up and down the Hudson...But 6-8 kts is the price for low horse power...

Some may remember the experiments by GM in converting standard automotive blocks (gasoline engines) to diesel motors. The program was pretty much a disaster, because the blocks couldn't handle the stresses of diesel technology.
