IF it just ahd a grapple and a heal it would be very usable.ITs a bit tedieus as is but could be easily improved upon.Looks to be of a good stable structure so far tho.
dude...tell me you live in tn...i want you to build me one..i have a twenty foot trailer that i really REALLY hooked up...that was until i seen your vid. awsome job
@shooterm24sniper about $1100 (without grapple) but i was very resourceful about getting parts- like my axles and wheels were $50 from craigslist, and i bought almost all the hydraulics used, used/painted metal. just shop around before going and buying new
@shooterm24sniper its built out of a dump truck axle. the axle housing is welded directly to the trailer frame. the boom and cylinder is welded to a wheel which is bolted to the hub. the axle shaft is what spins the hub which spins the booms. because the bearings and hub is so rugged it works very well
Sounds like a Briggs motor. Very nice setup.

Dude Nice Job. Except I could Cut that log into firewood and chuck in my truck in half the time!
How much does that thing lift? Can we see like a 30" oak log?
TheTreeDoc1100 2 months ago
@TheTreeDoc1100 thanks, the trailer is meant for trees that are to be cut into lumber, so they have to be at length for lumber

Hey 1 more question how bog is your tubing on that boom it looks like 2x4 ????
shooterm24sniper 3 months ago
@shooterm24sniper i think it is 4x4 1/4 wall
trucknut324 3 months ago
And that works good because. Im lookn to make like 15 at most and lift 7 or 8. Hundred pounds. Or more do you think 3/4 ton axle will hold ?????
shooterm24sniper 3 months ago
@shooterm24sniper ya i think a 3/4t axle will hold but you should frame it very strongly and reinforce the wheel somehow.
trucknut324 3 months ago
hey how big is your trailer and how long is your boom
shooterm24sniper 3 months ago
@shooterm24sniper deck is about 12 feet long and boom is about 13 feet long
