  • very interesting, thanks for sharing. :-)

  • Fantastic - thanks for sharing this, it brings back great memories.

I purchased 4 of these Spanish Iwer Looms from a scrap dealer in Ireland back in 1984. I then converted them to weave straight lengths of paper covered wire weft with twisted paper warp to reproduce the world famous Lloyd Loom Fabric which I still produce today in my factory in West Java, Indonesia.

The Iwer is a very versatile workhorse & I am sure that these machines are capable of weaving any material you wish

  • @northernhouse

    who was the scrap dealer

  • had one of these on try out-were to replace lineshaft driven Lancashire looms dobby and crossrods-years ago now but i found this loom so interesting-great post

  • Really, really, really, really, cool!

  • Wow, so many moving parts! I can't imagine troubleshooting if something breaks.

  • Thank you. Absolutely the best I've ever seen on a rapier loom in operation.

  • Nice to see someone else running Iwer Looms!

    New England, USA

  • Iwer looms rock !

  • gorgeous woven images of all the activity and metal. the sound of this, when slowed too, is sooooooooo lovely relaxing, and this is quite fascinating, sonic fabric. yet the video itself is sonic fabric maybe?

  • Awesome video, awesome machine.

I wonder what it would sound like if the tape was pre-recorded and you played the fabric ?

  • Yes I know, should have watched your other video, silly me.

  • Nice Alyce. Nice. 8)
