  • Chinese commie pigs divided the Korean peninsula by invading South Korea and killing millions of South Koreans. China will pay one day...

  • god bless your father and thank him for his service

  • Korean war veterans don't get enough respect. My friend's grandfather was drafted for Korea.

The Korean war is pretty much over shadowed by World War 2 and the Vietnam War (not that those weren't important wars).

  • the war of chillin

  • ....why did u post this as korean war when your dad was chilling and resting in japan during the war? Do you really consider this patriotic and apart of the war? I dont, you should change the title to r&r in japan while korean war rages on

  • This is based on Japan... Get your countries right.

  • You look just like your dad. Nice video.

  • korean is a loyal dog of western countries. without western countries, you will become a dog of japan, china or russia. Anyway, you are always a dog. fucking dog country.

  • why is name of this clip 'Korean war' when all this video is about Japan????

  • 2:36 - Just curious here, but is your dad a lefty(left-handed person)? This is based in the pic where he hold the sword.

  • yeah , canada sent troops to korea .. but no draft

  • never mind the h8r dicks dude, its a great compilation, any record of korea has been kicked from history class, its nice to see someone still remembers, you're right to be proud of your dad

We are gonna do whatever we want whenever we want to and you wont do a damn thing about it. Your America is evil bullshit, only works on the Euro-trash and the ignorant sand-monkeys. We have done more to help and ensure global security, then all of your leftist brainwashed international org. so suck a dick! the US is just gettin warme up

  • south koreans are a very ungrateful people today. All i see are south korean college students protesting us troops presence in south korea.I say pull all 30000 us troops out and let ungrateful south koreans do thier own dam fighting against kimjongill. ungrateful jerks, why should i die for them.50000 american kids killed in the prime of thier lives.,for a people who dont appreciate the sacrifice[just like the french and english in both wars]

  • Sorry, Pjphoto. I'm calling you Doug, when I see it is your father's name. Where you see 'Doug' read Pjphoto, OK. feba53

  • One only has to look at South Korea compared to the very used-up or abused North Korea to see who really won the Korean War, which was of course, South Korea and her people.

  • Interesting photographs of Japan in the early 1950s. And oh, of course, of your parents, too, Doug. It would have been an interesting time to be in Japan as a US serviceman. The South Koreans, the US, and her other allies lost a lot of good and brave men in Korea and it is a shame that the Korean War is 'the forgotten war'. You, and all of us, should be grateful to your father for serving his country and, in doing that, serving the cause of freedom and prosperity.

  • i like this video very much

  • Great story and pics.... thanks for sharing them.

  • My dad too was stationed in Japan during this time. Thanks for sharing these photo's.

  • other countries only rely on America out of neccesity. when it comes down to it the countries of the world cant function without each other - there have been times in the past and there will be times again when America needs the rest of the world

  • I agree. With Obama as president we need all the help we can get!

  • what is the background music

  • your mum and dad is ugly lol

  • my grandpops told me a story bout heartbreak ridge.

he said that he never see anything so disturbing and horrifying again.

he also told me about bastogne, he said half his unit got wiped out, and the rest were either sick, dying or got trenchfoot

  • My grandfather was a WWII vet when the korean war started. He was there from 1950-1953.

He has pictures, letters and all his other stuff, i might make a video too

  • i know thats not nice to laugh but ... lol

  • I'm a Korean american living in korea if it wasn't for your grandfather my childern wouldn't being living here in korea thanks to your grandfather and all the us Troops that fougth for Korea :)

  • the I.R.A. destroyed the british army in northern ireland, its still amazing.england is now loaded with muslims and 3rd worlders.

  • Thank God Europe had America to save them from the fascist. Thank God for America who keeps on fighting for freedom for the world while Europe still sleeps.

  • I agree, but in WWI and WWII and the korean war, european nations played a very major role.

  • stop flattering America

    theyre not all good

  • Compared to what? The rest of the world? Comp[ared to facist countries run by dictators that starve the people? I think we rank pretty high for being good seeing we send billions and billions of our hard earned tax dollars around the world to help other countries. My tax dollars. And even during a recession when we can't afford it other countries cry for our money, which we continue to give.

  • dude shuddup. US stole lot of resources by killing and raping. Even your country was stolen from American Indians. Not even your land. You have no idea about the world. Fascism? What a typical American. Free the world I bet. IDIOT!

  • Ya. Ok. So North Korea is way better off right now, today, with a communist dictator at the helm. Last I checked the facts the people are starving and there are few jobs. Ok, now South Korea with a capitolism based economy, THRIVING and wanting peace. North Korea building nukes and sending test missles toward Japan. Before you get all lippy check your facts. Now what country are you from, Iran?

  • You and your BS American rhetoric. NK is starving because America put sanctions against them and NK being mostly a industrial country have no farmland. No trade with NATO means less supplies. Get it now.. You filthy scum.

  • @marvelous211 Oh really?? Seems the North Koreans keep getting themselves to the point of sanctions. And since when is NK and industrialized country with no farmland?? The North Koreans bring it on themselves, just like we did with our economy.

  • O' rly! Like? Nukes? Last time I checked US have nukes. I suppose US have to get sanctioned if NK gets sanctioned. Typical American hypocrite.

  • You do know that canada fought in korea? 26791 to be exact, with 516 KIA, and 1042 wounded. But i do understand what you are saying that they were draft dodgers who did not serve when it was asked of them.

You do not need to be on the front line to do your part in the war.

  • CANADA HAS AN ARMY?

  • america got battered in korea

thank god they had the british to save them

  • my grandfather was stationed in japan as well, and he has many storys form his experince

  • It's about time I comment about my video. . It was the "Korean War",I was stationed in Tokyo during 1953 and 1954 with a unit in Korea. We operated the Voice of the United Nations Command. We also , printed and dropped propaganda leaflets over enemy lines. I looked for the beauty of the Far East and not the horrors of war. I ended my draft status as a Corporal and now am very proud of my service to my country and of my sons, Art, John and Phil . God Bless America, Cpl Doug Koch

  • did he survive? write me back please

  • my grandpa was in this war

  • your dad must be a brave man if he did not go off to canada during the conflict

  • that has nothing to do with brave. Only idiots let them get killed for the New World Order.

  • WAS THIS GUY EVER IN KOREA ?the war looks nice in these pictures.COMBAT VETS MIGHT TAKE OFFENSE TO THIS VIDEO,CAUSE ITS LISTED UNDER KOREAN WAR .

  • This guy, my father, was stationed in Japan during the Korean war. He was drafted, yet didn't run to Canada like so many cowards. I'm sorry there is no blood and gore for your viewing enjoyment, like most sick people want to see. I do not think anyone will take offense by these pictures, especially those that have served with honor.

  • My grandfather luckily survived the war as he was a south korean soldier, but his best friend died fighting in the front lines i heard he was on patrol but he's friend was killed by an ambush

  • @Pjphoto so many cowards? who are they

  • @Pjphoto dude there was no draft the war was small enough 4 volenteers only genus

  • y was he at japan and not korea?

  • He was based in Japan.

  • Not to say crap about this video... but this is not about korea~ although your father fought in the korean war... this video has nothing to do with korea.. its only japan.. soo yh... u got here something totally wrong..

  • That is where he was based. So nothing is totally wrong here. He captured the experience of being in Japan while he was there.

  • lots of korean ppl still believe USA saved korea from nth korea and chinese+russian invasion and when we're young we were taught about general MacArthor's biography who was the korean war hero

  • Very true. Lots of heros in a war though, in fact, all that served, including my dad. To this day I believe South Korea is still not communist? I believe America did something right.

  • That was awesome!!!

  • Yup, thats my pa.

  • The picture quality is incredible. It's in the blood...

  • It's almost after WW2 Japan! Not Korea!

  • you do know that in 1954 the korean war was overit ended in 1953

  • Yes, and your point is?

  • oh nothing the title was wrong thats all

  • I know, thanks for the heads up, it was labeled that way for about a year. You were the first to catch it.

  • the infinite perceptions of war.....

  • I watched again and am impressed again.War is a terrible thing. You have to rise above it or die."Better I die on my feet, then live on my knees."

  • Well said!

  • dam im from south korea but im only 16 and i didnt know alot about the war wow im glad i was born after the war phew lmao!

  • Glad you think it's funny that so many Americans lost there lives, as well as your brothers and sisters, to to keep South Korea from becoming a communist regime. I guess you could always move up North, I hear it's much better up there.

  • I'm glad he got to see some of the world.Memories he will never forget. And oh by the way,he also served his country.

  • Yes he did, and I'm very proud of him. He was drafted, yet didn't run to Canada. He married my mom then shipped out.

  • Very nice photos. Japan hasn't changed a lot as far as I can judge, well except the clothes and vehicles. It's nice to see photos from the past.

  • half of the pictures mustve been taken in tokyo. there're views of the building of ghq, the diet around the imperial palace and the gates of it. in the others there're views in hakone, enoshima, kamakura, nikko and probably the northern areas 7-8km away from the ghq building. even now none of japanese had color prints of their own at that time. in the point that the views in tokyo were taken in color, they have historical value.

  • I will let my dad know. Thanks for the information. Phil

  • then u should not put the title "korean war"

  • Some people are so dense. This was the war he participated in . It was not WW2 or Vietnam. When you get out of the third grade you will understand this!

  • that picture taken was not korea, korean war? u sucks!its japan...mount fuji, idiot!

  • He was stationed in Japan.

  • You should take it a little easy there, shankoo. However, I will say that in the Army, there's this big rift between pogues and the combat troops, something civilians don't quite see. This probably happened back then too, with the lucky troops stationed in Japan, and the others sent to Korea. This is where shankoo's animosoty comes from, even though he should check it.

  • Bloody militant glorification video. Spare me.

  • No, just how my dad was drafted into the army and instead of running and hiding in Canada like a coward he served his country. I am proud as hell of him for his service. So please, if you have done anything for this country worth an ounce of spit, spare me!

  • Thanks America. South Korea best good friend USA

  • No, they're not.

  • Moving video. Very touching
