Why do so many snobbish banking, insurance, lending firms, brokerage firms, etc. executives play golf? I can understand it would be good excercise if they WALKED instead of cruising around in expensive golf carts full of scotch & beer. With their polo shirts, $1000 slacks & golf shoes they go with their snob "bums" to get drunk & laugh at how they screw poor innocent families to satiate their lust of greed. These execs are ignorant, incompetent & shameless. I see a golfer I shake my head & spit.
DOLFINBRETH....say no more....we lost too many to the cause of S. Vietnam.....bet you weren't so quick to "DIS" America then! Also bet you took anything offered by the US and still do!
who said anything about 'socialism' - i'm not talking about state redistribution of wealth made by the exploited majority (eg the soviet union, usa etc) - we've had enough of that in all its capitalist forms from the welfare state to the current financialised version where an elite minority loot the world and redistribute the spoils to themselves. we need real communism - something only parodied by the so-called socialist regimes. given the capitalist house is collapsing it's that or barbarism.
We do not need communism-remember the old saying about teach a man to fish. In communism it is more give a man a fish and he will expect another.
The more this country has given away the more people have expected to be taken care of. If we didn't have the welfare system a lot of people who are sitting on their butts waiting for that check would soon find out they ARE able to work.
50 pages of comments & nobody suggests maybe crisis is not the fault of republicans or democrats or even bankers & executives - it's a crisis of the SYSTEM. Capitalism is inherently prone to crisis, & the rich - whether by unions or hedge funds - try & make sure the poor pick up the tab. If you really hate bankers & execs & want to see an end to all the injustice & misery forget democrats & republicans - workers have to get together & change the world. Only we can do it. Meanwhile: Funny sketch!
its not the fault of capitalism, its the current thiefs are preventing capitalism to work by proping up the incompetent people and bailing them out with competent people's money.
But the 'thieves' today were good capitalists yesterday - capital is all about a few people being propped up by the many. Capital is inherently incompetent - ie it's incapable of satisfying the needs of the majority. The only way to hold onto whatever was egalitarian about it is to overthrow it and move to a system that truly rewards everyone's abilitites. The crisis isn't the result of a few people goofing up. The system is inherently flawed and always rewards rich 'thieves' of the right kind.
The capitalist system worked for years-until we started having CEOs who decided they were worth millions of dollars a year. I mean come on HOW many millions does it take to live well?
I bet I could do it on ONE!
Of course we cannot blame it all on the CEOs-look at the pro athletes-movie stars etc.
Incapable of satisfying the needs of the majority? Doesn't millions (billions) of people live far better, longer, healthier lives with far more entertainment and opportunities than ever before in human history? People at the start of the industrial revolution (even the rich) would have killed to live in the world capitalism has created today, even during downturns.
I guess you missed that class in college. the current finiancial issue is due to CRA forcing lenders to give loans to people that can't afford them. if you want to live in socialism get out of my country and live somewhere else.
What makes you think that I live in 'your' 'country'? More interestingly, what makes you think you live in 'your' 'country'? Ever noticed how 'your' 'country' is a legal fiction sustaining the looting of 'your' 'own' and international territories for the benefit of a tiny minority? Makes you feel big to identify with a vast decentered international network of capital that is currently about to screw you and those you blame for the crisis the system produced? Enjoy 'your' 'country'!
Phil Gramm is government, laissez-faire means free from government intervention... Dont worry.. this is nothing that 5-10 trillion dollars and 25% inflation cant fix
You missed understood my point. Anyway, Gramm also sponsored a balanced budget act. Governments practicing the same fiscal responsibility as the governed is a good thing. Somehow we sheep think the government is Santa Claus and the tooth fairey
Deregulation wasn't and isn't the problem. Congress AND the executive branch (Bush, Clinton, and Bush eras) encouraged the environment that led to this mess. And Obama doesn't appear to want to make any "change" after all.
sure, republican. its Clinton's fault. its also Obama's fault too, right?
your pal Ronald reagan got the ball rolling way back in 1982 when he signed the first landmark Banking Deregulation bill into law. he stated during the signing:'i believe we've hit the jackpot'.
Google it and learn something. you won't learn about it on Faux (fox) News.
So what's your point? The deregulation that allowed them to do what they did took place way before Clinton took office. And I seriously doubt that Clinton had anything to do with them landing the jobs they had. Not seeing the connection.
Even though I know this is meant to be funny, after seeing that executives at man y of thes bailed out banks and brokerages still got their bonuses (like Merrill Lynch for one) I'm ready for a true revolution .... ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE COMRADES !!! The rich have fucked us over, time to storm the Bastille again !!!!
This made me CRY so much. That poor man, and all executives who could lose a portion of their lifestyles. I will GIVE till it hurts to them, I hope all of you will too.
That is hilarious! I love how it's true, some people don't even have houses to live in and once the CEOs and like that only have 10 houses to live in, then they're crying and freaking out, when it's the people with NO house are the ones in need. Loved it!
I know it is meant to be funny. I need to say this. I will only "sponsor an executive" once they sponsor me, the disenfranchised worker. First of all, they should allow the workers to unionize and hear the unions out. Second of all, they should consider that a pay cut for us and a pay raise for them doesn't equal financial success nor high morale for the company. Third of all, I don't invest in these companies just to see a CEO BS what I work hard to earn.
You think the airline pilot's union is going to make sure the CEO of Delta doesn't have a beach house?? That isn't how it works. That isn't what the 2% of your pay for union dues goes for. Unions quit being useful about 50 years ago. Personally, I don't care if guys like Bill Gates has 50 houses, he's made a good living for folks like me and thousands of others. He earned it.
In the meantime while the CEOs squander and have everything, you have poor health care, no say in how your company treats you, the employee, and, not to mention, a very poor if not modest lifestyle. Bill Gates may have 50 houses, but that doesn't mean since he supposedly pays well that he's earned them while you may not even afford to stay and live in your own house. In fact, why should he even have 50 houses to begin with?
Since he is very charitable and quit Microsoft to be so, shouldn't he be donating a good chunk of his houses to those in need of a house? Also, unions only lost their popularity when big business scared their workers silly into thinking its ineffective. Corporate doesn't give a shit about the worker at all, it will fuck the worker blind and make the worker feel that to stand up for themselves is bad for business.
Please do not give people negative comments just because you disagree with them, thats just being ignorant. Whether or not Spang06 is right or not he does bring up a good arguement. Instead of just hitting the negative comment button, use some semblance of intelligence and argue back.
Spang06 Your comment reflects a sad irony. Millions of Americans have bought into this lie that unions are bad and corrupt while corporations are the good guys. Of course as we all know there have been corrupt union officials but these guys were mere pikers compared to the masterful thieves who now control our country and our lives having reduced us to "consumers" instead of citizens and wage slaves who are finally now realizing they will never get out from under the company store. UNION!!!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Union corruption is a lie??
According to the FBI, four of the last eight Teamsters presidents have been criminally indicted.
Nearly 50% of the U.S. Department of Labor Inspector General's labor racketeering investigations involve pensions and employee welfare benefit plans.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Schemes involving bribery, extortion, deprivation of union rights by violence, and embezzlement used by early racketeers are still employed to abuse the power of unions.
Spang06 Throwing money at corrupt corporations is not the only way out of this mess. There's a solution to "union corruption" ... give Labor Unions and their members the next bailouts.
Your wish is granted, they gave the unions Chrysler and they don't have to pay taxes on their insurance. You win!!! Why hasn't the economy turned around???
Spang06 Speaking of insurance, eliminate them. Single Payer will keep employees healthy and corporations happy. The only way corporate bailouts work for us is if we make them stay in the USA, then we can work for them stateside.
It's naive to think the people that control Social Security and Medicare, (both going broke) will somehow manage universal health care. I don't want my health care rationed. You're better off with your union medical plan. I have the VA...
Spang06 You are naive. Private insurance causes both underinsured and uninsured to go broke, while stockholders rake in the profits by keeping the insured sick and dead. The entire goal of private insurance is to deny care & NOT cover your medical expenses in the hopes that we die so that they will have even MORE profits. Cutting out the middlemen is efficient and healthy, doctors and nurses know this, that is why sooo many health care providers are FOR Single Payer FOR our health !
You are mistaken. The insurance companies are seriously losing money. AETNA lost 24% in their last annual report. Their assets are down 29%. If you bought Prudential stock on 2006 @ $6.08 it is now worth $2.69.
Spang06 you make a great argument for Single Payer, which will ELIMINATE insurance stockholders. Single Payer is tax collection and health driven , NOT profit driven by denying healthcare!
On March 25, Medicare trustees warned that the Medicare Part A hospital trust fund will become insolvent by 2019, unless Congress takes action. Reasons for the spending increase include rising health care costs, the 2004 Medicare prescription drug benefit, and the retirement of baby-boomers.
Spang06 Simple solution: pass HR676, Medicare for All, then everyone and corporations will be taxed for Single Payer. And get rid of the Bush Medicare 2004 prescription drug "benefit" which was just a neocon payback to BIG PHARMA contributions. Single Payer will take care of meds too.
Your givernment run plan apparently will solve the problem with inadequate care and the deaths of the patients. Kill them off and you save money!
This it from the AP TODAY:
The second of two Kentucky widows has settled her federal lawsuit over surgical care they say killed their husbands at an Illinois Veterans Affairs hospital where major surgeries have been halted for nearly two years after a spike in patient deaths.
Wrong! Exact definitions vary, but the term can refer to any system of medical care that is publicly financed, government administered, or both. Read the dictionary.
In the economic sphere, fascist leaders support a "Third Way" in economic policy, which they believed superior to both the rampant individualism of unrestrained capitalism and the severe control of state communism.[12][13] This was to be achieved by a form of government control over business and labour (called "the corporate state" by Mussolini).
Spang06 Actually , it is you that believes in a corporatist fascist state, so that insurance companies are protected by the govt so that they can run ramshod over citizens and patients for profits , insured and uninsured alike. We the People of the Constitution, on the other hand, want Single Payer voted in to end this tyranny.
You're wrong again there Sparky. Testimony before Congress last week:
The health care overhauls released to date would increase, not reduce, the burgeoning long-term health costs facing the government, Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf said Thursday.
Did they allow you to have dictionaries at your school? Look up the word Fascist; then check page 16 of the Health Care Bill which kills private insurance to set up a state run socialized medicine scheme.
Spang06 Single Payer bill is HR676, and eliminates private health insurance companies, not private providers and private hospitals. All Single Payer does is eliminate the wasteful middlemen that put profits before patients.
Spang06 Sure beats not insuring 46 million while pro-profit insurance is ripping off the rest of us with monthly premiums, copays , deductibles and out of pocket expenses.
But let's say your regular doctor feels something strange in the consistency of your prostate or breast (pick your gender). In a socialized plan the referral to a specialist takes an average of 17 weeks. The specialist. He says you need a MRI or special imaging to be conclusive. Another 17 weeks. Many cancers are very fast moving and quite lethal! You could be dead by now!
This is why the in the example of prostate cancer mortality rate in Norway is 400% higher than the US, Germany is 300%, France is 350%, England is 300%, and Canada is 300% higher than the US. Did you hear Obama say that when people get old and have health problems, they ought to consider Hospice as a viable alternative? So when you get old you should go find someplace to curl up and freakin DIE!
Spang06 Wrong again. All women would get annual mammograms instead of JUST insured women. Besides , my friend was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in early stages while on vacation in Canada, and they triaged her in ER, did total surgery, let her heal in hospital , and checked her out with clean bill of health, and NO MEDICAL BILLS, while she was an American tourist in Canada last year!
I'm glad your friend was able to be treated in ER as an emergency, unfortunately if she had to wait for tests as an outpatient, she could be dead by now. The same is true for ANY ER in the US now, they must treat emergency patients. I bet they sent a bill to her USA insurance comany...
Explain the cancer mortality rates in Europe and Canada being so much higher. Is the world health organizaton lying? Think for yourself and don't be a stooge for your union friends.
Spang06 I believe my friend, not your corporatist hacks. She is cured with no bills, not from her insurance company either. Wanna quote stats with links, instead of just saying you say so?
Why do you keep pushing a system that doesnt work? A majority of Germans have lost faith in the country's health care system, according to a new study by the Institute of Opinion Research in Allenbach. The study, presented in Berlin on Wednesday, showed that 62 percent of the general population and 87 percent of physicians do not have a good impression of the health care service.
Spang06 So people who have a better healthcare rating than the United States are complaining, and we are not supposed to complain when our healthcare rating is only 37? It sounds like people in Single Payer Western Industrialized nations have more FREEDOM to improve even a better situation than ours, while we are stuck with the status quo and have to remain suffering in ours with no hopes of improvement. This is what you want, perpetual servitude to insurance CEO's? That's like Grapes of Wrath.
Maybe your friend is pulling your leg. I sent an inquiry about how US Citizen receiving care in Canada. Here was the answer:
"Although costs in Canada are generally lower than in the US you will be responsible for any medical costs incurred. Each province in Canada runs it's own health care system and citizens of the province belong to that. Although plans for one province can assist a person in another province people from outside of the country have to pay for any costs." Hmmmmm....
Spang06 That makes no sense, my best friend from high school is 51 and has no reason to pull my leg, in fact she was not that way in high school! She has been an accountant for years and talks about bureaucracy and red tape when it happens, like when she & hubby adopted their daughter from Eastern Europe. Now THAT she went on and on and on about all the hoops they had to jump through. But her emergency surgery in Canada as an American tourist was short & sweet, and she owes her life to them.
78% of Americans are happy with their insurance. Your Facists want to control it. The cabal your obviouly protecting are the trial lawers and the absurd malpractice judgements from socialist judges.
Spang06 78% of nothing is nothing. 46 million Americans , 18% of all Americans under age 65, have NO health insurance! You are against malpractice judgements? You must have a vested interest in malpractice insurance or a doctor with too many malpractice suits then, that is the only cabal against it! Here's a thought, raise only the malpractice rates of bad doctors, and if bad doctors cannot afford it then the state takes away their license to practice medicine !
Social Security and Medicare are projected to be insolvent. There is no plan in place to rescue either. A functional government run single payer insurance is as inaccurate as your allegation that insurance companies and their shareholders are getting rich. The only folks getting rich are the bureaucrats of both parties in Washington. Please note that congress is not on a single payer insurance system, they have their very own program one you and I cant join.
Spang06 It is impossible for Social Security and Medicare to be insolvent unless we turn into a Third World Country with no corporations and employee incomes to tax. If that happens , then we will be worse off than not having Social Security and Medicare. This country needs to give incentives for American corporations to stay stateside, and penalize those that ship American jobs overseas.
We finally agree! If we continue to spend 4 times what we make in revenues, you are correct, we will be a third world country. Read the GAO reports versus the special interest blogs. Single payer cannot work given the govenment's own cost estimates.
One can always tell when there is not a serious argument when shouts drown out facts.
Spang06 The only way we will become a Third World country is by deregulated American businesses sending our last American job overseas. No businesses means no jobs means no taxes means no revenue.
Spang06 And stopping stupid wars would stop the bloody spending , because no more no-bid cost-plus military contractors to rip off our treasury (by the way, THAT's what corporate fascism is )
Why would anyone want to have a business here where they are overregulated and taxed to death? You're proposals are driving business and jobs away. Look at the number that has moved to Switzerland just this year. People want a free market where they can prosper on their own merit, not a socialist bureaucracy. Heck, Obama sold the part of Chrysler he didnt give to the unions to Fiat, an Italian company! That isnt keeping jobs here.
How would you describe someone who has called for forced abortions? For mass sterilizations? For mandatory population controls? Or would you call him some sort of nasty fascist?
Answer: you have to call John Holdren--the Director of the Office of Science & Technology Policy within the White House.
Your answer to health care expense, kill off the old and the sick. If your one payer plan is so good, how come the unionized federal employees, congress and Mr. Obama are opting out of it?
Spang06 The fed employees, Obamians and Congress are COVERED that is why they don't give a damn about 46 million Americans NOT covered by health insurance. The "public option" is really a Bait & Switch Bill , NOT what Single Payer advocates (the majority of all Americans) need and want. Even the insured in this country see the writing on the wall> "wealth" insurance is a scam! Pres Obama is going from change to compromise with Blue Dogs & Republicans who care nothing about the American people.
The facists covered by a plan that they are not offering other Americans-why not?? Subtract those that can pay (make over $50K a year) , those eligible for Medicade, illegal non-citizens and you get 8 million who actually need insurance. Why not simply make them eligible for Medicade at a fraction of the cost? Because the facists would not be able to control the economy. The only way to make single payer work is eugenics. It sounds like you're prepared for that. I'm not...
Spang06 The only way to make Single Payer work is eliminate all for-profit "wealth" insurance companies like every other Western Industrialized nation out there. I'm prepared for that. The majority of Americans are too.
Sooo you'll dump over 256 MILLION Americans (most of which are happy with their insurance) by eliminating the private insurance companies into the government insurance system and expect the people that can't run Medicare or Social Security to take care of them BETTER than they are now???
Come-on, you can't be serious.
Oh yea, um, my cousin owns an insurance agency in Ireland. I guess he missed the elimination.
Obaba told the AMA there will be no malpractice insurance or tort reform. So there will no serious attempts at savings. I don't want rationed heath care and the people that can't run the post office or AMTRAK to run (or ruin) my heath care. Remember the care you recived in the Navy hospital? Have you not read about the wounded Vets not receiving care? It is criminal... That may be the future you want but it's not for me or my children.
Fantastic! Very well done. Brought a smile to my face. There's much truth in the humour but when you laugh about it, it's easier to take. Thanks for a great video!
poor bastard. I've already factored out my 1000 lattes for this year to help Barak Obama and Hilary Clinton get elected to "work for the people" so I might have to come up with some other type of constructive executive empowerment debt restructuring vehicle. I would put it on my credit card but, ooops I don't qualify for one and my car and house have been repoed and foreclosed on. Pass this on to the Obama campaign. They're sitting on a billion dollars in campaign funds!
OMG - why are some of you taking this so seriously? It's COMEDY with a satiric edge - it's what we Americans do best. Seems to me some people just aren't getting that... this isn't a talking head show taking itself too seriously - it's YouTube!
I think it's hilarious - and I'm passing it along...
to the ignorant morons who want to use youtube as a vehicle for their hatred and stupidity... GO AWAY. No one group caused the current economic problems. We all contributed, with out addiction to credit cards, cheap clothes and TVs from China gas thirsty cars.
"Blame the Jews"? I don't think so. Blame ourselves... each and every one of us... for our greed, petulance, sense of entitlement, laziness and lack of interest in what our governments and corporations get up to.
This is hilarious! One of the best i've seen recently!
And given that the supposed crisis is in Portugal also i feel that this is a really good wake up call for schmucks that think that CEO's are good people! hehe
Another comment... Giving your opinion is acceptable. That's how we learn and form our own opinions. That is NOT what I'm referring to.. Hope those who left constructive criticism will continue to do so.. Just concerned over the potty-mouth, which does nothing but make people defensive, angry or dismissive..
What do you think you accomplish by calling names and giving stupid insulting comments?... You will get more respect if you listen, and TRY to give an intelligent solution or just enjoy the humor... Why would you post such ungracious comments? You should be encouraging kindness and resolution. NOT juvenile name-calling.. I'm sure you can do better than that. Why lower yourself to this?..
Did any of you people stop to think that it takes more than just ONE person to make an economy a success or a failure? Did you remember that the CLINTON administration was responsible for the mortgage sub-prime lending? It was the CLINTON administration that start NAFTA which are 2 reasons our economy is failing. Bush is not blameless, but as in all big business and politics you must also depend on your advisors, If he did NOTHING after 9/11, what would you say then, through your Burka??!
I would comment on this...was sent to me by a friend....but afraid my knees would get pulled completely off.
When are you pod people gonna wake up and realize that 1] One reason the melt down happened is due to the fact that most people do NOT understand the economic system and 2] All the the leadership...red and blue...are reading from the same script. It is live wrestling guys, wake up and smell the coffee.
Do you expect the common citizen to understand the Derivatives market? Have you read HR 5660 put through Clinton's lame duck session in 2000? I have. I understand parts of it, but I can't hope to understand the technical parts. My guess is that neither Lugar nor Graham understood that bill either. I think they might have had some help writing it. Warren Buffett said the D. Market is "the equivalent of economic weapons of mass destruction" Clinton [crook] signed it into law. Deluge.
What is so damn hilarious to me is how some of you people take an obvious comedy bit and use it to bash republicans over the head with so much hatred. You people are falling for the oldest trick in the book. Politicians use income envy as a weapon and it always works. I don't hate the rich. In fact, I hope to be rich someday too. How many would be unemployed if is wasn't for the rich? Until a poor man pays me a decent wage, I guess I will continue to work for a rich man.
This is supposed to be a joke because people can barely afford to keep their houses or pay for food.3700 is like expensive rent or housing can feed a family for a month thats the joke!!!
Corporate CEO's are stupid. And rich. Bush made the entire country poor so his rich corporate 250,000 dollar donors could add another million or two to their already swollen bank accounts.
The subprime was a Republican and Democrat caused the prime mess. I conducted a lot of research on the subject and you can find it all online. It was their rush to help people that could not even pay their bills. They were not poor, just damn irresponsible to pay their debts.
You "conducted research" huh. Greedy right wing douchebags destroyed our country and now is the time for them to shut up and stick their stupid Karl Rove talking points right up their Nordstrom shopping asses.
darlw MY attempt to smear others maybe you shold go back and read what the person I spoke of wrote. Talk about smearing. And as for your remark about spell check-spell check this ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahahahahahaha AND
sh10492 RIGHT ON! Be care others would say your "smearing" folks though, especially if they're Rethugs!
Blame it on the Democrats? Huh? Couldn't a republican congress and President change bad legislation in 6 years. And, since we are stating facts, how about the Paulsen led effort to reduce reserve requirements in 2004 when all this risky paper was out there? This was bad leadership all round. Hopefully that will change.
This is one "nervous" video. =p

That is hilarious! I love how it's true, some people don't even have houses to live in and once the CEOs and like that only have 10 houses to live in, then they're crying and freaking out, when it's the people with NO house are the ones in need. Loved it!
daisylover99 3 years ago 2
I know it is meant to be funny. I need to say this. I will only "sponsor an executive" once they sponsor me, the disenfranchised worker. First of all, they should allow the workers to unionize and hear the unions out. Second of all, they should consider that a pay cut for us and a pay raise for them doesn't equal financial success nor high morale for the company. Third of all, I don't invest in these companies just to see a CEO BS what I work hard to earn.
outinsider 3 years ago
Gee, the union bosses with their history of corruption, mob ties and posh resort perks aren't any better.
Spang06 3 years ago
Well, nothing's perfect, but, I'd rather have that then CEOs who squander money on pampering themselves.
outinsider 3 years ago
You think the airline pilot's union is going to make sure the CEO of Delta doesn't have a beach house?? That isn't how it works. That isn't what the 2% of your pay for union dues goes for. Unions quit being useful about 50 years ago. Personally, I don't care if guys like Bill Gates has 50 houses, he's made a good living for folks like me and thousands of others. He earned it.
Spang06 3 years ago 2
In the meantime while the CEOs squander and have everything, you have poor health care, no say in how your company treats you, the employee, and, not to mention, a very poor if not modest lifestyle. Bill Gates may have 50 houses, but that doesn't mean since he supposedly pays well that he's earned them while you may not even afford to stay and live in your own house. In fact, why should he even have 50 houses to begin with?
outinsider 3 years ago
Since he is very charitable and quit Microsoft to be so, shouldn't he be donating a good chunk of his houses to those in need of a house? Also, unions only lost their popularity when big business scared their workers silly into thinking its ineffective. Corporate doesn't give a shit about the worker at all, it will fuck the worker blind and make the worker feel that to stand up for themselves is bad for business.

UNION!!!!!

Spang06 3 years ago
Spang06 Throwing money at corrupt corporations is not the only way out of this mess. There's a solution to "union corruption" ... give Labor Unions and their members the next bailouts.
Yankhadenough 3 years ago
Your wish is granted, they gave the unions Chrysler and they don't have to pay taxes on their insurance. You win!!! Why hasn't the economy turned around???
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 Speaking of insurance, eliminate them. Single Payer will keep employees healthy and corporations happy. The only way corporate bailouts work for us is if we make them stay in the USA, then we can work for them stateside.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago

Yankhadenough 2 years ago
It's naive to think the people that control Social Security and Medicare, (both going broke) will somehow manage universal health care. I don't want my health care rationed. You're better off with your union medical plan. I have the VA...
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 You are naive. Private insurance causes both underinsured and uninsured to go broke, while stockholders rake in the profits by keeping the insured sick and dead. The entire goal of private insurance is to deny care & NOT cover your medical expenses in the hopes that we die so that they will have even MORE profits. Cutting out the middlemen is efficient and healthy, doctors and nurses know this, that is why sooo many health care providers are FOR Single Payer FOR our health !
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
You are mistaken. The insurance companies are seriously losing money. AETNA lost 24% in their last annual report. Their assets are down 29%. If you bought Prudential stock on 2006 @ $6.08 it is now worth $2.69.
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 you make a great argument for Single Payer, which will ELIMINATE insurance stockholders. Single Payer is tax collection and health driven , NOT profit driven by denying healthcare!
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
On March 25, Medicare trustees warned that the Medicare Part A hospital trust fund will become insolvent by 2019, unless Congress takes action. Reasons for the spending increase include rising health care costs, the 2004 Medicare prescription drug benefit, and the retirement of baby-boomers.
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 Simple solution: pass HR676, Medicare for All, then everyone and corporations will be taxed for Single Payer. And get rid of the Bush Medicare 2004 prescription drug "benefit" which was just a neocon payback to BIG PHARMA contributions. Single Payer will take care of meds too.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Your givernment run plan apparently will solve the problem with inadequate care and the deaths of the patients. Kill them off and you save money!
This it from the AP TODAY:
The second of two Kentucky widows has settled her federal lawsuit over surgical care they say killed their husbands at an Illinois Veterans Affairs hospital where major surgeries have been halted for nearly two years after a spike in patient deaths.

Spang06 Singlepayer Universal Healthcare is not socialized medicine.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Wrong! Exact definitions vary, but the term can refer to any system of medical care that is publicly financed, government administered, or both. Read the dictionary.

I figured out where you get your stuff:
In the economic sphere, fascist leaders support a "Third Way" in economic policy, which they believed superior to both the rampant individualism of unrestrained capitalism and the severe control of state communism.[12][13] This was to be achieved by a form of government control over business and labour (called "the corporate state" by Mussolini).
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 Actually , it is you that believes in a corporatist fascist state, so that insurance companies are protected by the govt so that they can run ramshod over citizens and patients for profits , insured and uninsured alike. We the People of the Constitution, on the other hand, want Single Payer voted in to end this tyranny.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
You're wrong again there Sparky. Testimony before Congress last week:
The health care overhauls released to date would increase, not reduce, the burgeoning long-term health costs facing the government, Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf said Thursday.
Did they allow you to have dictionaries at your school? Look up the word Fascist; then check page 16 of the Health Care Bill which kills private insurance to set up a state run socialized medicine scheme.

Spang06 2 years ago
This is why the in the example of prostate cancer mortality rate in Norway is 400% higher than the US, Germany is 300%, France is 350%, England is 300%, and Canada is 300% higher than the US. Did you hear Obama say that when people get old and have health problems, they ought to consider Hospice as a viable alternative? So when you get old you should go find someplace to curl up and freakin DIE!
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 Wrong again. All women would get annual mammograms instead of JUST insured women. Besides , my friend was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in early stages while on vacation in Canada, and they triaged her in ER, did total surgery, let her heal in hospital , and checked her out with clean bill of health, and NO MEDICAL BILLS, while she was an American tourist in Canada last year!
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
I'm glad your friend was able to be treated in ER as an emergency, unfortunately if she had to wait for tests as an outpatient, she could be dead by now. The same is true for ANY ER in the US now, they must treat emergency patients. I bet they sent a bill to her USA insurance comany...
Explain the cancer mortality rates in Europe and Canada being so much higher. Is the world health organizaton lying? Think for yourself and don't be a stooge for your union friends.
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 I believe my friend, not your corporatist hacks. She is cured with no bills, not from her insurance company either. Wanna quote stats with links, instead of just saying you say so?

Why do you keep pushing a system that doesnt work? A majority of Germans have lost faith in the country's health care system, according to a new study by the Institute of Opinion Research in Allenbach. The study, presented in Berlin on Wednesday, showed that 62 percent of the general population and 87 percent of physicians do not have a good impression of the health care service.
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 So people who have a better healthcare rating than the United States are complaining, and we are not supposed to complain when our healthcare rating is only 37? It sounds like people in Single Payer Western Industrialized nations have more FREEDOM to improve even a better situation than ours, while we are stuck with the status quo and have to remain suffering in ours with no hopes of improvement. This is what you want, perpetual servitude to insurance CEO's? That's like Grapes of Wrath.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Maybe your friend is pulling your leg. I sent an inquiry about how US Citizen receiving care in Canada. Here was the answer:
"Although costs in Canada are generally lower than in the US you will be responsible for any medical costs incurred. Each province in Canada runs it's own health care system and citizens of the province belong to that. Although plans for one province can assist a person in another province people from outside of the country have to pay for any costs." Hmmmmm....
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 That makes no sense, my best friend from high school is 51 and has no reason to pull my leg, in fact she was not that way in high school! She has been an accountant for years and talks about bureaucracy and red tape when it happens, like when she & hubby adopted their daughter from Eastern Europe. Now THAT she went on and on and on about all the hoops they had to jump through. But her emergency surgery in Canada as an American tourist was short & sweet, and she owes her life to them.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Comrade Sparky,
78% of Americans are happy with their insurance. Your Facists want to control it. The cabal your obviouly protecting are the trial lawers and the absurd malpractice judgements from socialist judges.
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 78% of nothing is nothing. 46 million Americans , 18% of all Americans under age 65, have NO health insurance! You are against malpractice judgements? You must have a vested interest in malpractice insurance or a doctor with too many malpractice suits then, that is the only cabal against it! Here's a thought, raise only the malpractice rates of bad doctors, and if bad doctors cannot afford it then the state takes away their license to practice medicine !
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Spang06 waaa, they lost profits, that's all. Let's put them out of business altogether, then AMERICANS will make money from the savings !
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Spang06 There will always be taxes and death for all of us, so Single Payer will cover all of us till we die.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Social Security and Medicare are projected to be insolvent. There is no plan in place to rescue either. A functional government run single payer insurance is as inaccurate as your allegation that insurance companies and their shareholders are getting rich. The only folks getting rich are the bureaucrats of both parties in Washington. Please note that congress is not on a single payer insurance system, they have their very own program one you and I cant join.
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 It is impossible for Social Security and Medicare to be insolvent unless we turn into a Third World Country with no corporations and employee incomes to tax. If that happens , then we will be worse off than not having Social Security and Medicare. This country needs to give incentives for American corporations to stay stateside, and penalize those that ship American jobs overseas.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
We finally agree! If we continue to spend 4 times what we make in revenues, you are correct, we will be a third world country. Read the GAO reports versus the special interest blogs. Single payer cannot work given the govenment's own cost estimates.
One can always tell when there is not a serious argument when shouts drown out facts.
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 The only way we will become a Third World country is by deregulated American businesses sending our last American job overseas. No businesses means no jobs means no taxes means no revenue.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Spang06 And stopping stupid wars would stop the bloody spending , because no more no-bid cost-plus military contractors to rip off our treasury (by the way, THAT's what corporate fascism is )
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Comrade Sparky,
Why would anyone want to have a business here where they are overregulated and taxed to death? You're proposals are driving business and jobs away. Look at the number that has moved to Switzerland just this year. People want a free market where they can prosper on their own merit, not a socialist bureaucracy. Heck, Obama sold the part of Chrysler he didnt give to the unions to Fiat, an Italian company! That isnt keeping jobs here.
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 lol, yeah, de-regulated anarcho-fascism has really "boosted" the economy the last 8 years.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
How would you describe someone who has called for forced abortions? For mass sterilizations? For mandatory population controls? Or would you call him some sort of nasty fascist?
Answer: you have to call John Holdren--the Director of the Office of Science & Technology Policy within the White House.
Your answer to health care expense, kill off the old and the sick. If your one payer plan is so good, how come the unionized federal employees, congress and Mr. Obama are opting out of it?
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 The fed employees, Obamians and Congress are COVERED that is why they don't give a damn about 46 million Americans NOT covered by health insurance. The "public option" is really a Bait & Switch Bill , NOT what Single Payer advocates (the majority of all Americans) need and want. Even the insured in this country see the writing on the wall> "wealth" insurance is a scam! Pres Obama is going from change to compromise with Blue Dogs & Republicans who care nothing about the American people.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
The facists covered by a plan that they are not offering other Americans-why not?? Subtract those that can pay (make over $50K a year) , those eligible for Medicade, illegal non-citizens and you get 8 million who actually need insurance. Why not simply make them eligible for Medicade at a fraction of the cost? Because the facists would not be able to control the economy. The only way to make single payer work is eugenics. It sounds like you're prepared for that. I'm not...
Spang06 2 years ago
Spang06 The only way to make Single Payer work is eliminate all for-profit "wealth" insurance companies like every other Western Industrialized nation out there. I'm prepared for that. The majority of Americans are too.
Yankhadenough 2 years ago
Sooo you'll dump over 256 MILLION Americans (most of which are happy with their insurance) by eliminating the private insurance companies into the government insurance system and expect the people that can't run Medicare or Social Security to take care of them BETTER than they are now???
Come-on, you can't be serious.
Oh yea, um, my cousin owns an insurance agency in Ireland. I guess he missed the elimination.

You "conducted research" huh. Greedy right wing douchebags destroyed our country and now is the time for them to shut up and stick their stupid Karl Rove talking points right up their Nordstrom shopping asses.
