See how the sides of the mouth crease inwards? That is the dog trying to get air into is passages. Those dogs are renown for having breathing problems which is why they snore when awake.

No, it's just the breed of dog. Some Bostons have trouble breathing silently, expecially when they're relaxing. My mom's dog does this all the time, and she's fine. It's actually kinda cute...
