  • just out of curiosity and this may sound dumb. I'm getting huge into fish, I have a 55 gal tank and i was wondering if you think I could house a grey bichir, black ghost knife fish, dragon/violet gobbi and various semi aggressive cichlids together, I have done some research and nothing is really telling me I can't so i thought i would get some advise from someone who has clearly had success with a black ghost. Thanks

  • My dried bloodworms usually float. Will they eat if the food is floating?

  • @iliya24izz They usually stay at the bottom of the tank, so they might have trouble finding floating food

  • @iliya24izz

If you have the lights off, they may come out. Mine used to frequently skim the surface at a really fast rate for the floating worms. Just needs to get comfortable with it.

  • can you mixed up the tiger barb, tin foil and black ghost fish

  • you can keep black knife fish with tropicall fish

  • Ghost knife and guppies? WTF

  • can BGK fish be with guppies and platys??

  • @gerry200008 no non no no no. the bgk will eat them as soon as he gets bigger.

  • Can I keep bgk with an elephant nose fish just wondering coz I might get one or both XD

  • @looterwolf I've seen Black ghosts frequently housed with Elephant Nose fish when I go to fish stores. I would assume it would be fine as long as your tank is big enough

  • @tagardne i have seen them housed with elephant nose too so they should be fine

  • @looterwolf not a very good idea at all! elephant nose fish and bgks both have electric sensors that help them navagate tru the water, and if you keep the two toghether, it disrupts eachothers navagation and can cause fatal accidents.

  • @looterwolf no do not do that. i had an elephant fish and it constantly attacked my ghost knife, i had to take it back in order for the knife to be happy

  • @looterwolf i have a ghost knife and it fighting to not die the fish that almost killed it well lets just say it in the oscar mouth

  • hi i was just going to ask how big in gallons is a 70 litre tank

  • hi will al these fish get on 6 platys 6 tiger barbs 3 clown loaches 4 green tiger barbs

  • if i got a black gost fish can i keep him with shrimps

  • @jamie5838 lol no, well maybe. It depends on the temperament of the BGK.

  • how big is your tank

  • @jamie5838 55 gallons. The BGK in this video actually died about a week ago from unknown reasons :(

  • @tagardne sorry to here that

  • @tagardne What were your NH3/4, NO2/3 levels?

  • @tagardne what is the min size of tank for these kinda of BGK?CAN I KEEP IT WILL GOLD FISH AND GUPPIES?WILL THEY EAT THEM?

  • @9912699125 Minimum size is 55 gallons. They do get pretty big. I used to have guppies with my BGK fish and he never ate any of them. This might change as the fish grows though. Not sure about gold fish. My BGK never really nips any fins, and it never seems hostile to other fish. From my experience as long as your tank is big enough and the BGK has a place to hide (very important), it will mind their own business.

  • @tagardne sorry for the caps,i forgotten to turn it off.....i have a climbing perch thats about 10 cm plus or so and i am afraid that it might eat my bgk if i do buy one ....

  • @tagardne

    do u live in houston

  • @9912699125

many people say that a 55 gallon tank is minimum, but if yuo want to keep ablack ghost long term, you need something 80 gallons or up. when they get bigger, bgks can easily eat guppies and goldfish.

  • @silverheart105 oh.......i want to keep it with my aro but not now cus i just got a albino tiger oscar :)

  • @9912699125 oh lol. you know what i do when i see a oscar fish? i yell "DADDY!"

    figure it out yourself. XD

  • @silverheart105 wth ?

  • @9912699125 my dads name is oscar.

  • @silverheart105 lols

  • @9912699125 yup. so, have you ever had bumblebee gobys?

  • @silverheart105 naa i heard of it before only but my friend has got a marble goby that we caught!

  • @9912699125 kewl!

  • @tagardne Dang... do you test your water for Ammo, Nitrite, Nitrate? Any idea at all how it happened?

  • @jamie5838 hi there can i have all these fish in a 240 litre tank 1 black gost fish 1 bala shark 1 hoplo catfish 1 opaline gourami gold gourami 2 angle fish 1 brisle bose catfish 2 polli synodtis catfish 2 clown loaches 2 clown pleco s

  • Hi Im planning on getting one of these BKG do you think it will fit in a 29 Gallon tank?

Lovely Barbs by the way. :D

  • i am getting a 55 gallon tank and i wunderd if two balas would get on with a red tail shark

  • i have finally chosen my fish 4 punguin tetras 4 rummy nose tetras 4 neon tetras 1 blue fighter

  • say if i got my bigger tank can i keep 1black gost fish 6 tiger barbs 1 red tail shark

  • can i have 6 tiger barbs 2 corys

  • can i have these fish 4 tiger barbs 4 green tiger barbs

  • @jamie5838 Yes, 8 tiger barbs will fit in a 16 gallon tank

  • can i have 6 rummy nose tetras 2 coolie loaches 2 clown loaches 4 glass catfish

  • @jamie5838 A good rule of thumb is to have 1 inch of fish for ever 1 gallon your tank is. Your tank is a little bigger than 16 gallons, try not to keep more than 16 inches of fish in there. Make sure you think about their full adult size. That tank is definitely too small for even 1 clown loach. Make sure you research the fish and read up on the minimum size tank they need. If your tank is too small they won't grow and it will be painful for them. Either get smaller fish, or a bigger tank.

  • @tagardne i like to follow this rule. but this is the minimum space a fish should get.

1inch of fish per gallon.(1"-5" fish)

    1inch of fish per 2 gallons (5"-10")

    1inch of fish per 3 gallons (10"-15")

so if you got a 6 inch fish , you should have a minimum of 12 gallons

  • hi agian i was just going to ask can i have all these fish in a 63 litre tank 6 rummy nose tetras 2 colie loaches 2 clown loaches 4 glass catfish 1 black gost fish

  • @jamie5838 No! I definitely would not keep them all in a tank that small. It's recommended to have a 55 gallon tank for the ghost knife fish. They grow pretty big. 63 liters is a little over 16 gallons. BGK fish have also been known to eat smaller tetras. BGK are also very sensitive to water conditions and if you have that many fish in such a small tank, the water quality will be very bad.

  • how often do u fed your black gost fish

  • @jamie5838 Usually once a night right before I go to sleep. It's nocturnal, so it prefers to eat at night. Just make sure not to overfeed. At first I used to be worried about it not eating because it didn't come out when the light was on. He eventually got used to the light, and comes out to feed regularly.

  • i use to have awesome fish but my sister left my window open when it got to 45 degrese= cooked fish=(

  • Nice tank, you running co2 and peat? Check out my bgkf...

  • I'm running a relatively cheap CO2 system, but just using normal substrate. Thanks for the comment.

  • @tagardne

It maybe cheap, but it seems to be working well. Nice work. 5/5
