  • @zodiacharm13 One word will never be strong enough to describe all he's done... how incredible he is.

  • My first Ghibli-movie was Spirited away.. i easily remember how it pulled me in this magical and fantastic world!

  • Comment removed

  • Crimson tide RULES!!

  • i cried at how beautiful ghibli films are and how well this put together

  • Cann you tell me what movie is 1:26? I've seen it before but I can't recall it's name.

  • @bobateahee Whisper of the Heart

  • @pumpkinbox19 thank you (:

  • Howl's Moving Castle was my hands down favorite!!

Did you hear Miyazaki's making a sequel to Porco Rosso coming in 2012!?!? That was also one of my absolute favorites of his!! Please continue with your genius Miyazaki!!!

  • This is one of the rare videos in which I think the visuals deserve such dramatic music. These clips are truly thrilling and sublime. So often movie trailers and movies use Carmina Burana-esque music to promote some false sense of drama when nothing really that interesting is happening, while ghibli movies already have that excitement, and go with music like this perfectly.

  • does anyone know any anime movies that are like Ghibli?

im desperate to see more anime masterpieces!!

    some replys would be nice!!!!

  • I loved his older works, I wish Disney wouldn't be such a conservative wadd, I'd like to see some more Princess Mononoke's, after Spirited Away, their movies have been too childish or cliched.

  • Fun, love, friendship, everyday's life, dreams, fantasy, loneliness... seriously, do you want something more? Who says anime are not cinema?! everyone of these movies is a piece of art.

  • I've only seen Howl's Moving Castle,Spirited Away,Ponyo,Castle In the Sky,Kiki's Delivery Service,My Neighbor Totoro, and The Cat Returns. I plan on watching all of them :)

  • what is th name of the film at 2:12

  • lol i played katy perry's firework to this video and it worked great with it xD but i started the video at the part where it was clouds before it showed Kiki laying on the hill...^^

  • I remember my first Studio Ghibli film was Kiki's delivery service. After my mom and I watched it, she started calling me Kiki. So Kiki has been my nickname ever since. X3

  • @anime549 aww... that is so sweet... :)

  • Does this fall under anime?

  • Love this. Awayonsoapywheels, regarding your comment, the girl on the train is from a very short Ghibli film about some office workers who go to the curry house. We have it on the excellent boxed set available from Anime United which here in UK costs 35 pounds for all 18 Ghibli films right up to Ponyo - a real bargain.

  • Nausicaa, Mononoke hime, Laputa, I recommend you to watch them.

  • The part where that girl lays her head on the sort of faceless guy on the train... what movie is that from? It looks familiar, yet doesn't...

This is going to bug me.

  • @awayonsoapyheels Love this. Awayonsoapywheels, regarding your comment, the girl on the train is from a very short Ghibli film about some office workers who go to the curry house. • What's the movie at 1:53?

  • If you want to know the soundtrack that plays from 0:08-2:00, type "Great Expectations Score - Estella's Theme" into YouTube search.

This soundtrack is so great that you can just listen to it by itself. You could also play it on another tab, while putting this clip on mute (which I just did:p). Unfortunately, the second part of this clip doesn't really sync well with the Great Expectations Score, since it's for the Hans Zimmer score. ...Still good, though.

  • I like all of the ones I have seen but my two favorites are "My Neighbor Totoro" and " Only Yesterday" Spirited away is a really close second though.

  • @yotsubafanfan Oh and Grave of the fireflies is on my favorites as well. ^ u ^

  • Princess Mononoke. . .my favorite Miyazaki animated film of all-time. <3

  • the music is amazing.....!!!!!

  • I watch Hayao Miyazaki's works to escape from the shitty world...

  • whats the movie at 3:34 - 3:35 ? (with the great wave of kanagawa)

  • @costyron I think it's a sequence from the Yamada's, at the wedding when the grandma explains the couple will have to sail the sea's and sometimes face storms. Something along those lines, but I'm not 100 percent sure.

  • May I know what music have u used from Doyle & Zimmer for this video thanks? and GREAT collaboration indeed~ <3

  • @Heartaken The one 2:00 onwards by Zimmer is the main theme from the movie Crimson Tide.

  • I like all movie from Studio Ghibli Inc. ^- -^

  • ;w;... *so full of glee* I need to watch the newer stuff soon..

  • The best one I think is Howles moving castle, can watch it over and over again.

  • Studio Ghibli have some of the greatest animated films to ever be made.

And Hayao Miyazaki, for me, is just as good as Walt Disney. Miyazaki-san, you are the best :)

  • @bradm666 I'd venture to say better than Walt Disney, but that's just me

  • @EyeSea4VseMoHajaEsAi

It's not just you. Not by a long shot ;)

  • @Karmoon7 :)

  • @bradm666 disney make better films then japan but anime is better then cartoon

  • Only for children up to 7 years of age.

  • which film is it at 1:53, 2:04, 3:01, 3:27, and 4:34. lol Iv hardly seen any of them. The one at 4:21 is The Cat Returns

  • Comment removed

  • @Elindigoful if ur talking about the one at 4:34, its not a movie. its a short clip made for a music video for chage & aska (the song is "on your mark"), a music group that consists of 2 men in japan. i personally love it! the good looking guy resembles aska, and the guy wearing shades is chage

  • pom poko or the cat returns 4.21

  • whats the anime @ 4.21?

  • Its ''pom poko'' during operation poltergeist.

  • I LOVE STUDIO GHIBILI!

They have the best story lines and animation. :D

  • 3:38 -Chihiro's hair goes *boing boing* lolz

  • Jeez... I've seen all these except for Ocean Waves. I wonder how to find it, and with english subtitles. Or is that not possible? Any way, really nice video :)

  • cant wait for the English dubbed Ponyo on the Cliff

  • Hayao Miyazaki's work is truly beautiful, a kind of beautiful that cannot be described in words. His movies touches every single one of our hearts.

  • @Wingx0

my favourite thing in the Ghibli movies is the Goose bump moment they create,

its sad that other than Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata

and the other director`s we never know the name of those animator`s who gave such life in the images.

  • @Wingx0 i want to live in these movies, cant wait to watch them on psycedelics

  • @Wingx0 Isao Takahata made the saddest film I've seen ... "The Grave of the Fireflies"

  • Im sure i watched one where this cat just sits on a train and later this girl follows said cat into antique shop. calls it mr cat lol..This was on during studio Ghibli season on film 4 and i recognise those racoons, and the castle...anyone knows what that ones called?

  • The ones with the Raccoons is "Pom Poko" , The other is "Laputa" "Castle in the sky"

  • Thanks...will try and find them somwhre :).....btw do u know the one with the cat on the train ..the cat just sitting like a passenger staring into space and a girl chases it round then ends up in a street, then into an antique shop

  • That one is Whisper of the Heart.

  • Thank you

  • What's the futuristic Blade Runner-esque one at 2:04? Seen most Studio Ghibli films but I don't recognise that one at all.

  • Maybe it's from the short On Your Mark.

  • @CrowbarSka Yeah, it's from the On Your Mark music video. (song my Chage and Asuka)

  • i'm not 100% on this, but i think that's galaxy express 999

  • Thank you...will look

  • im mostly a fan of Lupin the 3rd: Castle of Cagliostro, pom poko, and The Cat Returnes.

  • Me too.

Castle of Cagliostro is my favourite Miyazaki movie, apart from the others.

  • My favourite is "Spirited Away", amazing characters! Never 've seen somethng similar before...

  • Comment removed

  • @asikosha yeah me 2. The first studio ghibli film i ever watched! also the girl in it plays as Lilo from Lilo and stitch

  • @asikosha ha same here, such emotion in the anime, howls moving castle is awesome aswell.

  • can somebody tell me whats the movie of the little girl flying on a broomstick at 0.23? Thanks.

  • Search "Kiki's Delivery Service"

  • Hey, The movie is called Kiki's Delivery Service. Loved it

  • its kikis dilivery service

  • i heard of these movies but never saw them

  • what's at 3:01 too? the guy with the bow and arrow

    :D

  • Comment removed

  • 3:01 is from Princess Mononoke

  • maybe it's from "Pom Poko".

  • what was at :49 ?! O_O

  • and this is from "Ocean waves", less known, but still excellent film, not directed by Miyazaki or Takahata, but it's only Studio Ghibli film directed by Mochizuki. (Miyazaki fan from Serbia, Europe:)

  • love them all!

  • as a PS I was only able to watch Grave of the Fireflies one time, I think I actually grieved for a week afterwards, the most moving film I ever seen.

  • Hayao Miyazaki is a genius, no doubt about it :)

  • Ghibli movies always put the females in more dominant role than the males

  • Actually, Studio Ghibli is almost strictly hand-drawn animation. Miyazaki allows only 10% of his films to be computer animated. He is quoted as saying, "Do everything by hand, even when you're doing it on a computer." I don't know about the rest of the films from the company, but as I said, Miyazaki's films are almost completely done by hand.

  • fantasia was boring, ive hated it since i was a kid. ghibli has no rivals because of their classic storytellers. their only rival could be final fantasy writers.

  • Comparing limited animation with Fantasia is like comparing pop art with the Mona Lisa
