@randomdude581 The hubs are (obviously), but the game itself is not. The flying is actually 2-D and on pre-set paths, but you can travel any direction along that path as you like.

Imagine a curved invisible wall and the player character being a point that can travel along that wall but nowhere else. That's how the game works.

@randomdude581 Yes and no. There's a hub world called the Dream Gate that's free-roaming. Each world (Pure Valley, Crystal Castle, etc.) is represented by a door. However, the stage select within a world is a menu.

nights JoD is okay, the only reason i like the original more is because

sonic team accomplished the "dream" factor better.

in the original there were no cutscenes or explanations, there was only this world you ended up in,

where you had to figure everything out for yourself. THAT is what a real dream is like and i just think it makes it more interesting.

Well, let's put it this way: You have no radar and no way of keeping track which ones you've got by location--just a counter on the fountain.

I'd recommend a guide.

Yeah. There are 60 Dreamdrops ttal, and Will and Helen share the counter.

You can see how many Dreamdrops you have by looking at the number in the fountain at the Dream Gate.

Claris and Elliot are unlocked simultaneously.

Hey question, if you invite someone into your dream world via wi-fi (or vice versa), can they see you as Claris or Elliot, even if they're Helen or Will? Because I got all the dreamdrops and invited someone into my Dream world while playing as Claris, and the person kept sending me emoticons with fingers pointing at me, followed by ?'s and !'s, lol.

Maybe it meant nothing and they were referring to something else, or maybe they noticed I was a different character.. I really have no idea.

Gotcha. One more question, while you're walking around near the dream gate and where the fountain is, how did you get it to play the nights sweet snow mix and have snow on the ground?? sorry for all the questions, i appreciate it though!

You need an A-rank in every mission in the game. The Dream Gate will start snowing.

Yeah, you need all of the Dreamdrops. There's a Dreamdrop guide on GameFAQs, and it's very very useful, since you're not really given any hints until you're close to it anyway.

NiGHTS can be a boy or a girl depending on what you prefer. NiGHTS is neither, actually.

Do you mean the story goal, or the immediate Chase Mission at hand?

In Chase Missions, you're supposed to chase down the birds, grab the keys their riders hold, and unlock the cages. Once you unlock all three cages in a Chase Mission, you're taken to the boss stage. The Chase Mission ends when you beat the boss.

The overall storyline for both Will and Helen is a "coming of age" story: Will is toodependent on his father, and Helen constantly abandons her mother. They come to terms with their flaws and correct them by the end.

The cutscenes explain it all.

I've never played the original NiGHTS for the Saturn, so I can't say I have any nostalgic feelings for these secret characters. All I can say is good job.

I never played it either. I don't really feel much for these characters.

But I do know that their roles in their game are much much smaller than those for Will and Helen. Claris wants to be better at singing, and Elliot wants to be better at basketball. They meet NiGHTS, they fly around and defeat Wizeman, and in real life, Elliot finds Claris singing in a parade. That's pretty much it. No extra missions or anything like that.

I want to play NiGHTS into Dreams..., though obviously I can't say which is better until I've played them both. I've seen it front to back and have read extensively about it, however.
