  • I love security essentails i had it for years i had scanned my computer with malwarbytes and others and i never had a virus.

  • Comment removed

  • How good is Microsoft Security Essentials? Give me a rate in a scale of 1-10.

  • @CCkeminliu959 i would say about 8 as in its great and finds virtually all malware BUT

i did find that it could not remove one that was copying itself to every exe and dll that was unprotected on my comp wich it managed to remove the copys and every thing worked fine but i had to remove the souce file my self

  • @theFinmonster

    Okay.

  • I installed it today.

  • Im getting of Norton being intrusive thinking about removing it tonight and getting this. Hope it all goes well.

  • You can run MSE along with Immunet and Panda Cloud Antivirus without having much use of resources also on same cpu you can install MBAM + SAS + Spywareblaster + Spyware Terminator + Spybot S & D 1.6 + Lavasoft Ad-aware as on demand scan which all are free to download and use.

  • I got avast on one laptop and security essentials on another one. hmm i like both lol.

  • I'll never use any other product.

  • With many AV programs from 3rd party vendors we experience complex and menus that have too many options that confuse the non-geek type of user. And best of all, it feels like a part of the operating system, simple, unobtrusive. Not a patched on sluggish 3rd party application. Way to go MS!! This is good stuff and everyone needs to at least give it a try.

  • I see no need for a extra retail AV suite now. I always used to rec AV like mcaffe and norton and others to friends. And they constantly complained about resource usage and subscriptions and tedious interfaces. But MSE, they absolutely love it and ACTUALLY RECOMMEND it to their buddies. The low resource usage **AND** a clear & concise user interface is a real hoot to boot! Trouble free ease of use is paramount when venturing into the world of mal-ware. Mcaffe/Norton were just huge juggernauts.

  • You have GRC click key running eh?

  • What exactly does a "rouge" do?

  • @MrLolhacks what a rouge does is made to look like your computer is filled with viruses and makes you upgrade which costs like 50$ so in short terms its just to make money and scam you

  • Poor College Student+Security Essentials=money for stupid stuff i dont need

  • they going go broke. i hope McAfee die for ever. so far i like it :)

  • Everyone who doesnt update there computer alot run a FULL SCAN every day... it helps so much :)...

  • Isn't it ironic how there's an ad for Norton Antivirus 2011 next to the video?

  • LOL no HD...!! :D

  • where do you get the malicios urls

  • @Atomicfartsman easy, you go to a website, downlaod something then if it says virus you know, then just compy and past the url, and then save.

  • Just got this after reinstalling windows. I switched from Comodo internet security to this and I am enjoying security essentials even more.

  • Is it normal that my pc have over a million items..?

Cuz mine do and I just bought it..

  • @UnofficialEminem well, if you got a trojan downloader or a traditional virus that makes copies of itself then yes. A new computer can get infected quite easily, especially if you went a week or two w/out an antivirus program.

  • sen some of those url plz

  • does microsoft security essentials block bad websites?

  • @donhealyou wow did you even watch 10 minnutes of this video?

  • @Champion0fTheGods sort of but the bottom right something came up the security essentials block it or they detect it in your computer means the virus already downloaded on your computer?

  • you sure this is legit? cuz every so often i will have a window randomly pop up called microsoft security essentials saying i have a potential threat and it asks me to "clean computer" to remove the threat. is this some trick or is it ok to trust it???

  • @XxsoulermachinaxX Theres a fake MSE in the wild.

  • Looks like a good free program!

I currently use AVAST free and MALWAREBYTES PRO version. Both provide "real time" protection,as does security essentials.

Both avast and malwarebytes prevent any nasties from installing in the first place---while security essentials seems to partially let the nasties in since when it finds one it has to be cleaned.

  • @pompste avast! is fake av

  • @pompste You should notice that when the review was done, MS:SE was in BETA, as stated. Its gotten extremely solid now, been using it for a year, and have had no problems with viruses, trojans etc.

  • @Storhonta

Good to know it works for you! What firewall do you use?

  • @pompste Just using the Windows Firewall, works good enough, also, the router's these days (most of em) has a decent firewall built into it, so its enough with the windows one, im sure.

  • @pompste What? SO, Are you using Avast+MBAM in real time+ a special firewall??? WHY? It's must be slowing down your PC as hell(or at least, it's much more slower than it's standard speed).....And by the way why do you need these extra protections???!?

You should watch less malicious porn sites.......

(sorry 4 my english, but i think you'll understand this...).

  • @bosshunterman

I just have AVAST & MBAM PRO in realtime with windows xp built in one way firewall. They don`t slow down my pc at all since i have Avast set to "ignore" Mbam.I prefer the extra protection--i know many others who run the same set up as mine and are happy with it.

  • @pompste Windows XP?........Then, you just have to download a light AV with a good firewall like ESET( XP firewall is garbage).....Currently, your both AV has no firewall(Avast have web shield, but its not the same....)

If you need a simple but good protection, I also recommend MSE, it's enought 95% of the time(now Im also using it :P)

    (sorry 4 bad english again...)

  • @bosshunterman Such as pornhub.

  • I'm using it right now... But jeez.. This demonstration is like peace of mind now! I'm going to love this AV. :D

  • @pryvisee - You're comment makes me want to throw up. Just kidding! :) haha

  • this antivirus is awesome

  • @ihavebieberfever409 yea this antivirus is awesome but it is not recommended to protect you from most dangerous threats...because it misses several threats!

  • @thepredatorwinner

I heard it misses several threats too as it only updates once daily. The AVAST and MALWAREBYTES combo i use both update several times daily.

  • Norton is good now but to expensive. This is a good free programme, but you will need a firewall.

If you delete Norton, get the Norton removal tool from Norton’s website.

You can also do a search for any Norton that is left over.

Avast is a good Antivirus free & Comdo Firewall, they also combine Antivirus & spyware too

  • I have 2 months free Norton, should I keep it for now or uninstall it and get this?

  • @mdon26594 keep till time goes out

  • Use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and SUPERAntispyware.

  • malwarebell didn't stand a chance. reformat my butt. I will just use MSE and SAS

  • NICE VIDEO PRESENTATION GREAT PRODUCT

  • It is so low on your frame, that it actually beats avira!

Very light and brutally stable product.

  • Microsoft Security Essentials The Best AntiVirus,Thank You Microsoft.Good Job :)

  • the best thing is its free :P

  • Why is it start instead of Start ?

  • @Umbolele pirated copy of windows xp!

  • @dell11700

Nope. I ask because in polish version there is Start.

  • when MSE is clearing the computer, the Icon for security essentials in the system tray looks like a washing machine!

  • Anti-Everything? then that means... Anti-Computer. LOL!

  • @TheBigDolphin1 You're not funny.

  • Comment removed

  • thing is a brick wall

  • Can you do a new review of MSE 2?

  • Comment removed

  • hay i was trying to download MSE yesterday and i kept seeing this pop up talking about putting a Microsoft antimalware disk in the cd-rom how do you get rid of it so i can use mse

  • @darknessthehedgehog3

Microsoft AntiMalware thing is security essenitals

I dunno but my computer didnt have it till MSE installed and same with my other pc

  • is there any place that one could download the program without going through a validation for windows? a pirated version? ... (ps. pirating software is a horrible thing)

  • @jad3948 Do u have windows 7 or xp?Because if u have xp i found on some page or forum how you can install mse without validation..but you must have xp

  • Security Essentials WTF

  • @bosshunterman you mean FTW right??

  • @bosshunterman why wtf its a good program

  • @MrJeansy95 Yes, I know, but it's surprising from Microsoft, because their previous security softwares(Windows Defender, Firewall) were just ornaments.........

  • The great thing about MSE is that it uses LOW system resources. For example, I play KUMA WAR (see my channel) and I did a FULLSCAN with MSE and it not cause any lag whatsoever. MSE is very very good. A good switch from AVG Free Edition...or any free anti-virus etc. software that is out there.

  • is it a good antivirus cause i love my AVAST or is it substandard like any other Microsoft free essential product like windows movie maker or windows photo gallery ??

  • Microsoft Security Essentials is nice antiirus for windows...

  • @thepredatorwinner

    lol. hence the word: microsoft

    xD

  • hey thanks for your efforts and work for helping us choose these stuff lol

  • @mrizos does any AV ever keep or track what youre surfing on the internet? im just curious cuz i wanna wut the heck happens on my computer when im gone lol.....(some relatives like 2 play on it)

  • guess what i didn't get on any validation

  • thanks i`m using microsoft security essentials 2 now and i like it!

I also use winpatrol plus i was wondering if that`s a good choice?

  • no free anti software is top of the chart.

  • MSE Is amazing. Using it with Dr. Webs CureIt creates an amazing safeguard.

  • dear i have to install microsoft security essentials bt it require validate your copy of microsoft windows so wht i do plz help me i installed avg it delete files thts why i want to uninstall it and right now i want to install microsoft security essentials i think its the best antivirus than avg antivirus

  • @IKmatli2010 you can install Avast if if cannot install Microsof Security essential...Avast is way better then AVG and can be used on unActivated Copies of windows !!

  • validate your copy of microsoft windows wht is that

  • @IKmatli2010 Apparently, your copy of windows isn't legit. Or you never activated it.

  • how did u do this plz tell me

  • hey guyz which is the best antivirus without avg?

  • Are you going to do a review of Advanced System Care? I've been using it for quite a while and it's a good piece of software.

  • Is Microsoft Security Essentials good?

  • Nice job mrizos, nice clean sound, and good video quality. I'm running MSE on this notebook, and feel better about it after your review :-)

  • Just watch, Microsoft will only make the next build for vista and seven users like they are with IE 9

  • I like it :) i'm with it

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Your "stick" keeps getting infected, eh? Just playin' bro :3 Love your reviews.

  • Does this remove AntiVirus 8? Cuz I'm having a hard time trying to remove it

  • Lets see it take down a new version of the ILOVEYOU virus XD

  • i cant update my MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSNTIALs help pls

  • if i install 2 antivirus on my PC and my PC will slow down?plz tell me if it will slow down i d delete one and Microsoft Security essentials is good but i d want to delete it bcoz i have other one :)

  • It's a good antivirus the only thing i don't like is the slow scan :)

  • your keyboard sounds like an old typewriter

    good review though

  • Here is new version link:

    Go to Microsoft and search

    security essentials

  • Where do you get the URLs?

  • @30126andrew

    Find on Microsoft

  • OMG 20 MINUTES FOR CRAPS

  • @brunosertanejo your spelling is crap

  • I'd say that this is the best for a free anti-virus. Of course, it IS free so it won't be perfect. I'm not sure what many of you guys do to get infected. If you're visiting very common websites (common like Youtube), just don't be stupid to download anything you see and you'll be fine. That includes pop-ups. JUST press the X on the window, some will automatically download if you just touch the window anywhere else.

  • @MrFavorite01 well yeah, everyone knows it, but too many people downloads cracks and keygens, some of those work 100% perfectly but some don't work at all, because they have some kind of god damn viruses, and then they come complain in forums how they got virus from nowhere...

  • mine keeps saying mozilla is a trojan

  • Man right now im in a pre college for doing stuff like you and i feel for ya when you had to go its hard as hell.

  • MSE kills my computer while it is updating and for five minutes after. When I can't switch windows or open or close programs, I know MSE update is at work. During a scan, the computer is 20% functional. No virus it ever had has slugged the poor machine so hard.

  • This antivirus sucks i had a trojan downloader and it couldnt delete it when i switchet to avast it deleted it

  • @NikolaGB

You`ve found AVAST is way better than MSE---i agree so far.

  • @pompste Well this comment is 9 months ago a friend of mine recently installed MSE on his pc and he says that they have improved it alot =) but avast is still better ^^

  • My friend recommended me installing spybot search and destroy, and I was wondering if security essentials will do the same thing as spybot. Should I install it and have only Microsoft security essentials running on my computer?

  • hey ive got mcafee, do i have to stop it to install security essentials or can i just leave it ?

  • @clubpenguinvideos919 Uninstal Mcafee. It'll just conflict with MSE anyway.

  • What exactly are drive-by and sality?

  • @Coi1221 Drive-by is when you enter the website you get infected straight away without having to click anything. Sality is also known as virut it patches alot of Executables and Dlls

  • I press Update and nothing happens, any help?

  • @Harvoable96 it takes some time depending on your net and comp speed

  • do you think you can combinate avast internet security and mse together?

  • microsoft security essentials is good for lite internet usage, it doesn't detect all malware... I have used it and a virus infected my computer. I uninstalled it and installed nod32 and solved that prob.

  • Mrizos, the setup is 7 MB. Not the actual unpacked antivirus.

  • i love it but, suddenly it stopped and it refused to Udate and scan. HELP!!!

ill subscribe to EVRYONE who helps me! okthxibai :D

  • @rubseman Hey, just uninstal and reinstall it. Should help.

  • @jacobo02160 nop allready tryed.

  • @rubseman I had install this on a computer already infected and virus won't let it update or clean infected file. so most mostly you are already infected. try different problem. works good once computer is clean then install again

  • wow, its a very good for a free one! It slaps AVG in the face!

  • it just slow down my computer and i have scan my drives it just invisible my important files this antivirus sucks

  • @mayank6169 It never sucked for me. But make sure you did a clean install. If your computer is still slow install a new AV. I would recomend COMODO internet security.

  • man it stopped every kind of possible infection in this test...very impressive

  • I Have been using it now for 3 Months & I Love it My Computer is Faster Microsofts Automatic Updates are working Fine, It's as Good as adding Ram & I'm fairly sure it will not do any damage to my computer, Norton on the otherhand has done damage to my Hardware in the past & AVG Restricts your Computer, While this Is Like Giving the Computer wings. Love It !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @silvybling Dude, Norton Frickin destroyed my explorer.exe file and wiped my HDD trying to restore the file. Wow. Now i've had to reinstall everything.

  • Simple, other companies are more famous.

  • i got a question... why does mine always go off? after a bit it just disables itself and then i have to manually put it back on... :(

  • I have superantivirus and windows security essentials and I searched for viruses on superantivirus and it found 12 threats then I scanned with windows security essentials and it found none

  • @ziggybadoodah It works fantastic for a free program :|

  • it might be my computer but it worked for six months until it it started crashing my "uninstall or change a program" on my computer and the quick scans took like 20 minutes. i uninstalled and installed again but it was the same. it worked good until that happen.

  • It doesn't slow down the PC ... and it actually works!

  • does it slow down the pc ?

because i have verizon security it really slows down pc to stand still

  • Security Essentials has saved me so many times and it fixed my friend's computer when he got the Live Security Suite virus thing.

  • Woah.. It's pretty light on system resources and it has great detection rates!

  • Is it better than avast

  • @NikolaGB Yes much better and has a easier-to-use interface.

  • @xxdeejinxx I'd say it's a little easier to use than Avast 5 (but a whole lot easier than 4.x).But "better" than Avast overall? That is up for debate. I'd still use Avast over MSE for now.

  • Can you run SuperAntiSpyware with Microsoft Security Essentials?

  • @casioplayer Yes the free version of SuperAntiSpyware works great with Microsoft Security Essentials, I use those 2 on my laptop.

  • @xavier2511 Thanks for the reply.

  • If Microsoft Security Essentials is based on RAV antivirus, a product acquired by MS in 2003, then this is offering a very good advanced protection.

RAV antivirus, was a top antivirus software, when BitDefender was AVP aka just on-demant scaner, RAV was a complete antivirus protection solution, it was popular even on Linux platforms. My advice is to use MSE, if you whant a free antivirus, hell its powerd by RAV :) I salute all old rav users !

  • This works like Eset dosen't it? Is it a resource hog?

  • @Theonegamefreak no not at all is very light on resource

  • My Bitdefender runs 500 k =)

  • @haynakaw999 You sound like a fucking bitch. Don't watch the video then, LOL.

  • @SmurfBlurf

Youre a fucking retarded faggot arent you? I made that comment 3 weeks ago. Whats the point of telling me not to watch the video now? What a fucking stupid ass faggot.

  • oh no. Everyone please help me decide. I have to choose Microsoft Security Essentials Or Norton Internet Security 2009. Please help me decide. I already have Norton and it is slow SOMETIMES so do i go to Microsoft?

  • Norton 2009.. of course go with the more recent one.

  • Go Norton Security 2010, dude. It's actually much better than previous versions of Norton. But if you don't feel like paying, go for Microsoft Security Essentials.

  • @Tekkenfreek234 Either way, Norton SUCKSSS!

  • if you have these microsoft security essential, your computer will protected even if u have no other anti-virus like(eset nod32 4)????thank u and regardz.

  • too many false positives with avast, I switched to AVG free on 3 of my computers and I use MSE on my dell, it's working great so far.

  • @Tony11244 another good one is avira its free but of course they have purchase adds that pop up on you but you dont have to buy it

  • @gtrracer9107 Why would you deal with that shit?

  • When he is on last Trojan 19:50 it says under staus when he is cleaning not found

  • i was using avast MSE and Mcafee

and when i went to play flash game

    only mse detected the trojan...

this concludes that the up to date of MSE is true after all

not saying avast sucks but idk about mcafee tho

  • It's funny that most free antivirus programs are actually better than the paid ones.

the only good paid antivirus in my opinion is KIS 2010

  • Amazing program. Just as good as one of the extremely expensive anti-virus programs!

    Great review, thanks!

  • MSE and avast are both great Anti Viruses IMO.

  • You call THIS a fantastic product??? That is the worst user experience I have ever seen in a video review.

I love how you fail to mention that "potentially unwanted software" means anything that Microsoft deems illegal. "Anti-everything" indeed.

  • you are so unique! your videos are long but i dont get bored!

  • I have had this since i first got my computer. At first i had norton and well its good, but... on iTunes it will give you a error saying could not connect. I researched and i found that i needed to unstall the program. Even though i spent money. I should've known to download microsoft security essentials, the day i got my computer. I'm glad i downloaded it. it detected a trojan in my program.(iTunes Giftcard Generator)
