If you want to see Patricia Arquette in her best, most haunting role ever, then dig up the 1991 TV movie "Wildflower".

She plays a deaf girl in the 1940's South, kept locked in a shed by her maniacal stepfather who thinks she's possessed. Befriended by a brother and tomboy sister, she comes out of her shell and learns to live.

This was also the 2nd great role by the young Reese Witherspoon--who's always at her best when she's allowed to be Southern.
