Alen Tully is Pipe Sergeant in St Laurence O Toole pipe band, Ireland, son of the Pipe Major Terry Tully. These are two awesome pipers, Alen and Stuart that is. You'll not hear piping like this very often.
@PipeSensei Yeah that is what I thought, the other video I posted was of him playing his set in the competition..... I loved the end when he just goes off on some crazy ending lol. great great talent..and really cool guys to talk to
@MsC1953 That little guy is Gordon Walker, he is attempting to tune their pipes lol......before playing or during playing you have to tune the drones to a certain note. If you ever get a chance to see them, I suggest you do so.
Ah! I wasn't sure if he was being helpful or mischievous! Maybe both? :-) I love the pipes, grew up around them, wish I had learned. Too old now! Haha! My uncle was drum major for a pipe band here in Syracuse. My Dad and his family came from the borders on the English side (don't hold that against me!) so the music was always playing in our house. Uncle wanted me to learn but parents didn't think it was right for a girl back then...sigh... Anyway, thanks! Great video of great pipers!
@MsC1953 your never too old to play the pipes...trust me, there was a beginner piper that was 62 in my other band, and she was got really good since the last time I saw her!
gordon is the BEST !!!
