However, this tends to be the case with every musician or band I enjoy. If they're not great live, they probably aren't in my record collection.

@DumbosHero They are written for baritone guitar which is tuned B E A D F♯ B. They are not made to be played in standard. It just doesnt have that deep groove there if you try. That's why I like to tune down a whole step when I play them.

@DumbosHero Ebon Coast isn't in standard tuning and neither is Heather's Song, they're in standard tuning for baritone guitars, which is a perfect fourth below standard tuning. There are tabs on the internet of Ebon Coast that are transcribed to standard tuning, that's probably why you're confused.

@bart99111 Saw a gig with the two of them back in 2007 in Glasgow, Scotland. Good night. Unfortunately Andy's sound was a bit quiet and scratchy since he was using the Fishman Ellipse Blend pickup system which sounded nowhere near as good as his current system. When I saw him with Don Ross though he sounded amazing.

i'd say andy Mckee and Antoine dufour are tied for best acoustic (fingerstyle) guitarist in the world. Their styles are so different, yet equally phenomenal. So much innovation in fingerstyle came from these geniuses. (or father hedges. you could argue.) there are so many masterpieces coming from candyrat. I can't wait for their future albums.
