Through discovering this video, I explored the best band with the best sond in the world. I saw the best movie ever made, and so I have one absolute favourite book now. And through the combination of both, because of this video, I got the idea for a storie I wrote and which I really like. So, thank you very, very much for making this video and showing me this great movie.
There´s only one thing for me to say: I´m so fucking THANKFUL to you for making this video. Only because I found it by luck, I know yet this great song, the much more greater movie and book and the whole of it inspired me to one of my own favourite stories. If you would never had made this video, I would have never known this great, great song and the best book in the world. So, I´m really thankful to you. Very much.
Besides the fact that you chose something that sounds like 80s garbage to be the soundtrack for this video, I found the splattering of video clips from the movie plastered throughout the entire video to be more offensive than the song. I also thought that the song would have fit the video better if it, with all its lyrics, had a much more ambient tone, which is what the album, done by Vangelis, had!
i think you'll find mate, that this "80s garbage" is Sonata Arctica and in my opinion one of the best bands in the world, listen to some of their songs like Fullmoon or sommot. i am offended that you have named it 80s garbage. however you are right that the lyrics fit perfectly with the video but in my opinion, the song is just amazing full stop.
excellent music and excellent movie. i am a huge sonata arctica fan and replica is one of their greatest songs ever. blade runner is also my favourite movie! soo all around good video.
hey, i was just wondering if this was the original or the directors cut. and if anyone could help me with this question, it would be greatly appreciated. how does ridley scott send the ultimate message of hope in blade runner? i have a few ideas but i need more! thanks!
what we have to remember is that when movies such as blade runner were made, the directors were an arrogant proud bunch who depended on thier works to assure them more work down the road, so we can expect movies of this genre to be pretty signifigant commitments. nowadays movies are cookie cutter crap made by what ever director happens to be next in line
this is not meant as in insult, i agree with you as far as how great this movie is, but this music does no justice. since we only know this movie in one way, any change can be seen as bad
The movie does its own justice. This was just for fun. But atleast people who like Sonata Arctica and this movie will find some enjoyment, and perhaps people who liked Sonata Arctica will have looked up this song, found this video, watched it, and decided the movie looked fantastic and went out to buy it and adored it, and put it in their top favourite films and told everyone about it. If so, then this was worth it, no matter what. :)
I don't think there could be true offense just because you personally don't like the song. I think I just offended YOU, and that suits me just fine, LOL.
i'm sorry Unilka, but you wouldn't know good music if it was dangling infront of your face. Sonata Arctica are great and their songs have so much meaning but i guess your too stupid to listen to the lyrics and just the music which you have a jaded opinion on.
The game is awesome, but it is that way in large part bc it's not like in making the game they were making the book into a game. They borrowed some of the elements of the book for the game, yes, but the book is not the game AND they stayed outside & didn't mess with storyline in the movie!
This is bc besides the fact that the 2nd book does NOT follow what happens in the 1st book, both books suck ass!!! They were terrible! Ridley Scott made Blade Runner what it is! Hampton Fancher and David Webb Peoples also did tremendous work on Blade Runner. Philip K. Dick should have written the original story as a short story so that at least it wouldn't have sucked so horribly!
The movie was based on/inspired by the book, so yeah they're quite different. That doesn't mean the book "sucks" just because it isn't like the movie, they're both excellent in their own ways. Philip K. Dick was ahead of his time, and Do Androids Dream Of electric Sheep? isn't really that long of a book, so it might as well be a longer short story.
Of course Blade Runner 2 wouldn't follow teh first book, because the first book isn't Blade Runner (even though they call it that to sell more copies).Philip K. Dick never even used that term, that was Ridley borrowing it from some other novel. If you want to see the genius of the book be used with the movie, you can play the computer game, and then you'll probably appreciate it more.
I've played & love to play the game. The only two bad things about the game, that I know of, are the fact that the game gives me a rather large error when I try to play it on windows vista. And the fact that EA put Westwood out of business & now EA, who owns the rights to the Blade Runner game, isn't likely to remake the game with updated graphics, etc.
2. I've read "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" and the sequel "Blade Runner 2" and I am confident that Philip K. Dick should have been a script writer for Star Trek or Star Wars, or something other such sci-fi fantasy franchise where other writers would able to mold him and his ideas, which were outstanding, into workable storylines.
1. I've heard that the regular version of the movie and the directors cut are described not just as two versions of the same movie, but as two versions of the same story! In the regular version, with Fords narration, he is not a replicant and in the directors cut, with the unicorn dream scene & all the other metaphorical scenes, that were cut out of the regular version, that seem to indicate that Deckard is a replicant, he is, in the directors cut!
Jesus Christ! What were you thinking? This music sucks ass. By the way, an artificial human in Blade Runner isn't called a Replica, they are called a Replicant. The ass clowns who performed this "music" couldn't even get the proper name right.
I'm not the biggest fan of the song, but I love what the lyrics say, the editing and choice of shots is VERY tight, and of course Blade Runner is the best sci-fi film ever...period.
I can't please everyone with the music. I'd be surprised if I didn't get comments like this, because not everyone likes something. So I displeased you, but not others. Can't win them all. :D
Erm ... Sonata Arctica is in no way punk. Btw no-one will take you seriously if you just act like a kid says 'ye is fukin shit'. Seriously how does that point out the bad points of it?
It is extremly disappointing to have such a splendid -and original music score (which still is dateless in it's originality)-overlayed by a contemporary urban soundtrack which is entirely inappropriate both in connectiveness and synergies with the film....
lmao your an idiot spotty...this is an original piece by Sonata Arctica. Its just that the music and the lyrics go well with the theme and plot of the movie
Urban? Punk? Try Metal, then you'd be a hell of a lot closer. It's been a while since I've seen Bladerunner, but from what I remember the idea of 'Replicants' ties in close to Sonata Arctica's song 'Replica'. 'Empty shell inside of me, I'm not myself, I'm a replica of me...' 'I had no name, last December, Christmas Eve I can't remember.' Now I admit, the story of the song is different to Bladerunner's but some elements are very similar ... it is quite appropriate in 'connectiveness' as you say.
Awesome film and nice choice of music, I've only heard one/two songs at most of Sonata Arctica and they particulalry good, glad to hear soemthing else and the two were a nice blend together.
i agree, sonata arctica is one of the greatest bands ever, i love power metal. And blade runner is one of the greatest movies ever so this video is all out awesome
Sonata Arctica is THE Finnish epic/power metal band, over-the-top ("cheesy") in a way that Americans (like myself) haven't been accustomed to since the 1980s, when "metal" properly faded and hip-hop-fusion took its place.
Cf. S.A.'s "The Cage" (track 03 from Winterheart's Guild).
SergeStiles, well done. _Blade Runner_ is a favorite movie, and, obviously, S.A. is a favorite band. You married the two media superbly. Thanks for this addition to YouTube.
Thank you very much! :) I know putting it on a public site will bring the negative perhaps more than the positive, so those few who really connect and appreciate with its purpose are very well appreciated by me. So don't mind with the negative... There will be plenty without hesitation, and as inane as they are, they would never irk me.

What is irrelevant is your inane comment. If it sucked, give it a low rating. If it *really* sucked, point out in your *intelligently articulated* comment what exactly you didn't like. Was it the integration of video and sound? (Did you, like BlueNocturne, find the music "cheesy"?) Otherwise, keep your negative-for-negativity's-sake comments to yourself.
Groovy. Not as good as your one with "Time, What Is Time," but still really good.
