The only other female singer that I find as mesmerizing as Ms. Simone is Rachelle Ferrell. I think they embody true musicianship and pure musical genius. Their voices are instruments within themselves. Nina was just talking here and still managed to out sing half of the female "vocalists" out there.

I can't wait until her biopic comes out ....I heard that it's rumored to have Mary J. Blige play her. If this is true she is a good choice b/c her voice exhibits that type of struggling pain when she sings.

But critics and others involved said she was a bad choice because 1) she had minimal acting skills (so they allowed her to get more experience by doing "I can Do Bad All By Myself) 2) she looks nothing like Nina Simone 3) and she is not a stage presence or electryifying story teller as Nina Was. The movie has been in pre-production since 2006. It's 2011. So, more than likely, it will not be made.

I've just finished to publish the16 songs of the Paris Olympia concert in 1968.

It's superb from the beginning to the end. One of her best film records with Europe Icons, Harlem 1969, Antibes 1969 and Montreux 1976. Other films of that period should exist in Europe.

Some years after, Hamburg 1986 and London are yet limit.

The others later (Pompei, Lisbonne, Barcelona) are too much painful by respect for what she was when she was young and in good health.
