  • did you ever get around to changing the cd drive?

  • @Edm001 Nope, never found time for it.

  • ive just seen one of these on ebay for a tenner

    lol im sniping that

Item number: 250970911286 got to be a bargin

anyone got a link to a manual?

  • that thing is awesome

  • Where do the saved games go? I remember the saves from your games would be placed on the game cartridge inserted. Does everything go onto a memory card or onto the cd64?

  • @jc1899 You are correct they are saved to the inserted cartridge. Then in the cd64 you transfer then to the memory cart.

  • @jc1899

savegame depends on game, could be saved on carttrige ( for some games u need different save Ram and so different boot cards with right save ram in em),

some games save to the controler pack memory.

The Unit is also able to back up the cart memory to the controer pack one.

  • LIK3

  • homebrew n64 cd player for cd64. i wish someone would make one

  • @Luigiisdead its called overdrive

  • @TheYoshiPC shoot someone already beat me to it. how about a DVD player? that would be cool

  • @Luigiisdead lmao

  • ok ! is it possible to liszen to audio cds, or just playing roms ?

  • @applefreak441 Dont think you can play audio cds, its just for roms.

  • So, is it possible to backup n 64 cartriges on cds with this device ?

  • @applefreak441 No download and burn from PC.

  • @applefreak441

You cab backup every N64 game with this unit and a protrcted cartrigedecoder.

But u will need a pccomms card or the parallelpoert adapter to send then to a pc.

for software i suggest get rtool by blackbag.

  • I would be interested to know if you were able to upgrade the drive in the device. I have one of these but i believe that the cd drive is bad. No matter what i use or what speed i burn them at it won't read the cd's anymore. I thought it could not handle anything faster then a 12x cd drive but maybe i am wrong.

  • @chris12599 I installed a 16x speed CD a while ago, always wanted to do a DVD but never got around to it. It's still working great.

  • @Mysteriozone Cool. Thanks for the update. If i can find something that old i am gonna try it. Did you have to go with the same brand?

  • @chris12599 No it's just a standard IDE CD-rom.

  • You can use and DVD driver for cd64? :)

  • @shwabo1000 Is that a question? If so I am not sure, I want to try it one day as time permits. If it's an answer then GREAT, I will try it even sooner!

  • @Mysteriozone yes. that's question.

  • i have a question do you need necesarily a catridgue of n64 to work the thing or not????

  • @lamsdark Yes a cartridge always needs to be plugged in. I always leave Mario 64 in there, it also uses the cart to store the saves of other games.

  • @Mysteriozone oh you know this would have been so usefull to me back in 1998 when i first got my n64 and i just cant image the thing i would do it whit that thing i mind at last i have like 12 original own games but i could played so much more whit that well at least i enjoyed enough sorry for my bad english

  • Does it run BFD?

  • can you give a link to where i can buy i totally need this

  • @whitemamba345 I am willing to sell it, if you are still interested.

  • @Mysteriozone Yes what is your Price

  • @whitemamba345 $150

  • @whitemamba345 I am willing to sell it, if you are still interested.

  • @Mysteriozone what is your Price?

  • Cruising Erotica? Now that's a game I never read about in Nintendo Power...

  • Isn't this the same as a doctor v64?

  • @jglwba Yeah. But V64's had to be modded to run backups, I think this is designed to run them.

  • @NOOBNUT08 i think ebay might have it but thats the only one i know that could sell it

  • I don't have Super Mario 64 (I bought my N64 used)

Which of these cartridges that I have will work best as a default? -Conker's Bad Fur Day -Pokemon Stadium

    -Castlevania

    -Turok 2

    -Yoshi's Story

    -Goldeneye 007

  • @PIKACHU49386 Yoshi and Goldeneye work for sure as I have used those.

  • I have to have one of these!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET ONE!!!!!!! :( PLEASE???? :(

  • @mrburke101 They no longer make them.

  • @Mysteriozone Do know of any websites that sell old ones?

  • @mrburke101 ebay

  • @Mysteriozone Where did you get yours?

  • @Mysteriozone do i need to have any special software to burn the games or do i just use any burning software.

  • @64ddking Anything will work, I used a old version of Roxio.

  • @mrburke101 look on ebay or something like that.

  • @mrburke101 I am willing to sell it, if you are still interested.

  • @Mysteriozone How much? And do you need a Japanese n64 for this?

  • @mrburke101 $150 and no it requires an US N64.

  • Comment removed

  • @mrburke101 Dude just get a Everdrive 64.

  • pleeeeaseeee can you tell me where to buy it (im from spain D:)

  • @adaam97 I am willing to sell it, if you are still interested.

  • @Mysteriozone ill pay between $200 and $250 for it.

  • can u downloads roms from internet then burn disc then play??

  • This is so cool better than z64 I'm sure to try to find one.

  • Just bought one of these from eBay for £50, looking forward to it

  • @danesite Congrats!

  • @danesite please i beg u how did u do it to find it, i tried on the ebay search "cd64" or "cd64 plus" or "n64 backup device" and many others and i cant seem to find any of this things

  • @grez14 They no longer make this and they are very hard to find and if you do find one they are expensive!

  • @grez14 Accidently come across it, you are unlucky as I sold it again a few weeks ago.

  • @grez14 \

    I can get you one

  • @danesite can i buy you that one, please i beg u if you dont need it , theres someone in the world who is desperate for this

  • can it play dvd and cds

  • @111john1 Cds yes, DVDs if you replace the drive.

  • @Mysteriozone other than ebay.

  • @111john1 Are there any websites that still sell this device?

  • How much u want for it???!!!

  • cruins erotica LOL

  • fist time i see one of these, you got from ebay or direct from china?

  • @Padoca85 China a couple of years ago.

  • Reminds me of the 64dd. How many N64 games could fit on one CD?

  • @SomeFluffer64 Depends on the size from 14-20.

  • how does the save game feature / catridge battery backup work though?

  • do you need to have a original game in the n64?

or can i just get the cd64 plus and plug it in to the n64 and download roms?

  • You need to have a cart plugged into the cd64. I used Mario64.

  • Lol Crusin' Erotica.

  • What would happen if you put a Z64 on top and then put a CD64 under the console?

  • and then a tr64 on top of he z64.. it would blow up.

  • Wow that is ugly! The cartridge goes in the front?!

  • Yup in the front, laying down so you can't see the game label.

  • do you know where to buy one??

  • They stopped making this years ago.

  • @Mysteriozone i did not even know that they make thing like thise for n64....i wonder what else

    i dont knol about ( O_o )

  • Very nice N64 back up unit. I myself have back up units for the earlier generation ( SNES & Genesis) . They worked very well but ofcourse some games had custom chips which made backing-up very difficult - so I bought those games - lol I always wondered about the CD64 Plus - if it was reliable. I never knew anybody with one like my previous back up units so I was reluctant to buy one. Thanks for the clip -- very educational ^_^

  • Sweet, I want one.

  • how much did one of those cost you

  • At the time it was like $125.

  • do you know were i could get one at this time

  • nice little item you have there. I have never heard of this before.

  • Cruising "Erotica"? I though is was Cruising "Exotica."

  • Oops, you know what I meant...lol.

  • That's really awesome, thanks for sharing this.

  • Wow, that seems kinda lame, if I wanted free N64 games, I'd just emulate them, the addon really seems to detract from the fact you're actually using a real N64...

  • Then you continue emulating them and I will continue playing them on the actual hardware.

  • That is awsome, Great vid.

  • CD64 never seen that before.
