JESUS CHRIST, HIS CATHOLIC-UNIVERSAL-APOSTOLIC CHURCH, SACRAMENTS, THE BIBLE, MIRACLES, HEALINGS, ST. MARY APPARITIONS, MESSAGES FROM HEAVEN, SIGNS IN 2011 ARE NOT A MYTHOLOGY BUT THE REALITY !!!
Hmm, well i'll tell you, at least on youtube, what makes me think this is about Christianity, the title. Second It's sad, 1 million dollars is literal dung compared to Christ and His love, which is the true reward, third,Christ doesn't go around kicking your butt, he died for you, loved you and if you don't believe in Him and treasure Him, he doesn't just kick your butt, he casts you out of His presence forever, bound by all the worldly things you served and claimed you wanted more than Him
@changed4Christ4life Hank is pretty calm compared to your imaginary god and his supposed son. We all know it, there's no point in trying to soften it, but thanks.
@hanspeterpitsch I never imagined up my God, he found me.And I have no need to soften up my God,he is indeed just and will pour out His wrath. God isn't just a cowardly guy who says do whatever you want I don't care,he made a way through Christ for us to be saved,he created me and gave me life, what right do I have to judge Him, no matter what he does?I believe in Christ because he is the ONLY way to life,I deserve only Hell,God saved me,how can I not call Him loving?
Are you a moral agent, or are you just a puppet? If you're just a puppet, then go sit in your box. If you're a moral agent, then you have every right to judge.
@changed4Christ4life It's always entertaining and depressing at the same time when I realize people actually believe such nonsense and base their lifes around it :) / :(
@changed4Christ4life Btw If I create a tortue chamber and say the only way you can avoid it is by worshipping me, do I safe you? From my own punishment? Not that loving if you ask me. Whatever, I know the excuse, you don't have to tell me ;)
@hanspeterpitsch Your missing a few things in that "analogy." 1. I don't just get saved, I get to be with Christ forever 2. You did not create me and therefore do not have authority over me like God does 3. I have done God so much wrong that I absolutely deserve an eternal Hell. I'm glad God is the way he is, He is not only loving, but also just, and justified in everything he does.
@changed4Christ4life 1. whatever, doesn't matter. Btw what does that even mean; being with christ, forever no less? Sounds creepy. 2. Ok then add "If i created you" to my analogy. 3. What the fuck have you done in your life to think you deserve eternal hell?
In the end, you can't talk about the character of this god because you haven't even demonstrated that such a thing even exists.
@hanspeterpitsch 1.Christ is author of my salvation, Savior, he is everything to me 2. You did not create me, nor do you have the infinite knowledge God has 3. To deserve eternal Hell? I blasphemed and scorned the eternal, perfect and Holy God and his grace by loving sin more than Him, when he gave me life, breath, and all that I have, then died to make a Way for me to come back to Him. Praise God he had the mercy to open my eyes to the truth, my only hope is in Christ
@changed4Christ4life 1. You can believe what you want to, even though it's nonsense, so ok. 2. That's why it's an analogy, but you don't seem to grasp that. Or you just keep avoiding my question. 3. Blasphemed? Wow, you think people deserve eternal torture for that? All I can say to that is "goddamn". "loving sin more than Him" what would that mean? "when he gave me life, breath, and all that I have, then died to make a Way for me to come back to Him" I still don't get why you believe that..
@hanspeterpitsch And you still dont know why I believe?I believe it because Christ rescue me from porn addiction, video game addiction, anger problems, pride, and has given me a desire to know Him that I never before had,and that didnt happen till AFTER I had read the whole Bible(meaning the Bible didnt save me,Christ did), because before I was delivered from all that I was fake,I went to church and read the Bible, but until I put my faith in Christ I was just religious, now Im saved
@changed4Christ4life Wow. Islam steals from the bible? Based around a lie? What about christianity? It's based on a book, like islam. Also christianity is basically taking the tora(jews) and adding the new testament. The funny thing to me is that you say islam stole from the bible, yet the bible itself isn't that original either. Virgin births and such things have been tought in earlier religions way before christianity.
@hanspeterpitsch have you read the New testament?Thousands of the first Christians were Jews, Christ was the fufillment of hundreds of Old testament prophecies, and Christ did not abolish the Jewish law but fulfilled it.Even before Christ, it was by Faith that David and Abraham and Enoch did miracles and were saved. If you want some answers I suggest reading the Bible or listening to John Piper's explination of the question you just asked about Satan.
@changed4Christ4life There is no explanation. If I created life, and cared about it, and something else I created was messing with the,, I'd get rid of it. Your god doesn't. He's immoral like that.
"Christ was the fufillment of hundreds of Old testament prophecies" Sorry, but LOL. Yeah, I could write a book, make prophecies in it, then another guy could write a book about a character fullfilling them. The bible can't prove the bible, simple as that.
@hanspeterpitsch I don't see where the problem is.I was a wicked sinner, and Christ took my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh,he died to do that, greatest miracle I've seen happen in my life. Why shouldnt I believe what the Bible says?I've been religious before, and done "good" things to get things(like in Islam, or Hinduism cause of karma),but now I do good because Christ works in me,and I don't care if I'm hated, poor or killed,I'm motivated by love for Christ, not money or worldly gain
@changed4Christ4life The problem is that the sin concept and christ go hand in hand. The sin concept is brought forward by the same book that talks about christ. I reject the notion of sin aswell. That doesn't mean I don't think there are bad things one can do tho. In other words, one has to believe in christianity to believe in sin to believe in christ dying for those sins. It's a closed system, you see what I mean?
@changed4Christ4life "Why shouldnt I believe what the Bible says?" Well for the same reasons you reject the Koran. It's an ancient book written by people that had no understanding of the world and therefor invented a god as an answer, filled it with their morals and their thinking. I don't claim that it's therfor wrong, but there's also no reason at all to think that it's true. We aren't even sure of a Jesus christs very existence, let alone the claims about his devinity.
@changed4Christ4life Again, I don't say Jesus christ never existed. In my opinion it's likely that man with such a name, or similiar, did exist and maybe was a philosopher, or he was just nuts. There are people right now claiming their sent by god, and logically we don't believe them, most at least. But 2000 years ago? Far more likely.
"greatest miracle I've seen happen in my life" again, you didn't see that, you just believe it for whatever reason. Maybe because it feels good, idk.
@hanspeterpitsch Well I'll tell you what, if you want some proof that Christ exists go outside and see if there is a world that exists that he created. If that doesn't make you believe, then repent and turn from your sin, believe in Him and put your faith in Him, cry out to Him to save you and give Him your life and then you'll understand why I've got this joy. Or you could wait till the judgement seat. Sorry but those are your options
@changed4Christ4life "if you want some proof that Christ exists go outside and see if there is a world that exists that he created"
That's not an argument, change christ with anything, for example allah, and you have the same thing.
And the rest your saying is basically: Believe in him, and you will believe. Again, switch the name christ with anything and you have the same thing. You basically want to believe and therefor do.
@hanspeterpitsch But more importantly Christ is better than any sex or food or possession, so really in turning to Him, whether we have those things or not, it is better than sin. I don't turn from sin just because a book tells me too, I do it because God is more satisfying and was right when he said His way is better, and that he Humself is better than any created thing
@changed4Christ4life So you're living in a delusion basically. Christ is better than all those things? How? Sorry, but that's such a weird mindset. And you do that because a book tells you so in the end. Your god, the sin concept, Jesus all are in your book and nowhere else.
@hanspeterpitsch Take a look at America today. Have we really made things better? We sit on our couches and big houses while half the world starves and dies, and think we do good by giving them a few bucks here and there. Plus AIDS, malaria, STD's, nuclear weapons, wars, rapes, murders, drug addicts, porn addictions, humanity is doing a pretty bad job running things if you ask me. Thank God he's even allowed us to live and have a chance to turn to Him and be saved
@changed4Christ4life I think it's sad that you can't be a good person without the believe in some deity. Or not as good at least. I think you are a very good person, you don't need some god that is popular at that time to give you his seal of approval, you can have your morals without that. Also it changes your life for the worse. For example, watching porn isn't a bad thing itself, maybe if you do it addictivly, but that's common sense.
@hanspeterpitsch I understand your argument about being a "good" person, I've thought about that alot. but who decides what is good? God's ways are above ours. But truth is even if someone barley sinned at all, never killed or stole or hurt anyone, and lived a good life by Human standards, what would he have to say before God at judgement if he didn't believe in Christ? That he thought he didn't need God at all and that he'd be good enough on His own?
@changed4Christ4life Essentially we decide what's good ourselfs. As social animals, of course it's wrong to kill or steal or rape. Not because a god said so.
And yeah, I would say to god "Sorry, but you didn't give humanity a hint of your existence, and I was a good person on my own."
If he then would still send me to hell because I didn't believe in him, well, then so be it, i couldn't change that. But I don't fear hell, simply because I don't believe it exists, so fear doesn't work on me.
@hanspeterpitsch I'm not trying to make you fear. I'm trying to tell you the truth. When you stand before God and say "Sorry, but you didn't give humanity a hint of your existence, and I was a good person on my own." what are you gonna do when he reminds you of this conversation? What if he calls me in and says "Alex did you not clearly explain to this person that I exist and that Christ is the only Way to me?" Would you still say he never told you?
@changed4Christ4life Yes, because I don't just take your word for it. If you say that to me, and another person explains to me the way of allah, there's no reason I would favour any of you, you both would just tell me something without any reason and without any evidence to back it up. See what I mean? When I say god never gave us a hint of his existence, I don't mean someone telling me those things. I mean evidence that could be observed and tested to see that it is actually true.
@hanspeterpitsch I understand your argument about no evidence. but that's why you have to have faith. And I don't expect you to just believe Christ over everything for no reason. Read the Bible and look at the life of a real Christian. Turn from your sin to Christ and put your faith in Him. What have you got to lose? money, cars, a job, other things that won't satisfy and will one day be gone when you die? I know its hard to understand but its the truth.
@hanspeterpitsch What else makes people want to give up everything in this world and turn God. Not Islam, it says give 2.5% of your money to the poor, Christ says give it all. I don't believe Christ for money or things on earth. i give them all up, because he's worth more than all that. What other religion offers Christ or God, as the ultimate reward? Not Islam, Mormonism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Greek Mythology, Masonry, or pastafarianism.
@changed4Christ4life I think we have reached the point where we just have to agree to disagre I guess. Yes you need to take it one faith. But I simply don't get how believing something on faith makes it true, even to myself. It's like believing that when I turn 60, I'mm gonna win a billion dollars. I don't see how it makes it true. And christianity doesn't offer those things for real, it just says it does. You picked a belief system that feels most comfortable to you.
@changed4Christ4life I still don't see why I should base my life around a premise that is most likely not even true, to me that's a waste of life, and as far as we know, and as far as logic dictates, I only have one life and then it's over, so I don't see why I would waste it just for the hope of an afterlife. Anyway, you're the most pleasent theist I've ever talked to, and I'd actually like to talk to you in person, because the writing thing gets us nowhere, but sadly that's not possible.
@hanspeterpitsch Likewise to you. I appreciate not just being cussed out and told that I'm brainwashed. Yah, we probably would never talk in person, but I am gonna make videos, cause I'm only 18 but I'm gonna be teaching at a church soon, so you can watch 'em if you feel like it. But I guess I just gotta leave the rest up to God, everyone's gonna know the truth someday, some just not in this life.
@changed4Christ4life Oh man - live your life buddy -You're 18 and you are already brainwashed. Dude... dont waste your life. Im not gonna try to change your mind, but do yourself a favor. In the face of your community (It will be hard) - do some honest to goodness reading, and ask yourself - can you really believe everything in the bible? If you only believe some parts (And others are just parables) - then by what code do you choose which parts are real? You're too smart to believe garbage
@MrDevilstreaker Ah yah, the brainwashed approach. Too smart to believe in this? Yah I thought I was for a while, then God humbled me, he broke me, and in my brokeness he showed me that I really had no idea what being a Christian was about. Then A brave man hit me with the true Gospel and God opened my heart and I believed.I literally cannot deny that God exists without being a liar, to the truth, to my conscience and to my heart, sorry man, your words only make my faith stronger
@changed4Christ4life Like I said- I am not trying to convert you, and if you are truly convinced, then I honestly wish you a good life. But I've read most of the bible myself, many parts of which I've read multiple times, and was looking to become a preacher. Its important that you reconcile it for yourself. Dont take my word, or anyones word - but read it for yourself, and come up with YOUR conclusions - dont let others interpret it for you - that is the big mistake I made.
@MrDevilstreaker Well with that advice I'd agree, I actually read the whole Bible before I got saved and didn't understand it at all. then a few months later I heard someone preach the true Gospel and sine then with the power of the Holy Spirit when I read now things actually make sense
@69Poonhunter Man I'm sure it was the real God, the Father of Jesus Christ, I was never strong enough to overcome pornography, lust, video game addiction, and anger and greed in my own strength and poisonous pride. But thank God he had mercy, I don't deserve it but God sent His only son to die for me, and he has not only rescued me from Hell but also from the power sin had in my life. Praise Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory!
@69Poonhunter I didn't laugh this is serious stuff man, we all need a Savior, and only Jesus Christ is righteous and able to deliver us. Check out Romans 3 in a Bible. This isn't some funny made up thing to make me feel good, Christ is my life, I'm as good as dead without Him.
If you're relying on an outside source to make you happy, give you strength and make you feel alive...you're already dead. You might as well give up because you'll never be truly happy until you start making your own happiness.
@bariuspelagic Oh man, I remember those days, Swim team Captain, popularity, a good Job, money, everything I wanted. I worked hard and gained people's respect. I tried to go it all alone, and I became depressed and sick and unsatisfied, then I got hit with the Gospel, and God changed my life. 18 years of my life wasted, but Christ has set me free, I don't need parties money, drugs, girls or video games or tv, Christ is enough for me, forever
No, you changed your life, not some ethereal spirit in your mind. The human mind can do amazing things when properly motivated. A man, trapped beneath a boulder, can saw his own leg off with a swiss army knife if need be. A drug addict can overcome addiction with a single thought if it will save the life of someone he loves.
You changed because something motivated you to change. It wasn't a god, it was something that holds actual importance to you personally. I hope you find out what that is before your imaginary friend lets you down and you lose your opportunity to make real change in your life. Find yourself and your true motivation changed4Christ4life because that will make you more than just hopeful of 'salvation'; it will make you secure in yourself.
@bariuspelagic Something did motivate me to change, God, Jesus Christ, no one greater than Jesus Christ. Through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ I got changed. I spent 18 years being religious, but after I heard the true Gospel everything just changed, God broke me and changed me and saved, that's all I have to say
@bariuspelagic I appreciate your concern that I learn how to be happy, but Christ is better than even temporal happiness. I'm more concerned that you learn that Christ is King before you die. I hope you learned something through this conversation. :)
You don't find it the least bit odd that you live in a secular democracy but you advocate raising up a king?
You have no idea how sad and afraid that makes me. Your 'saviour' is nothing of the sort. He's a tool of control created by a Religious Monarchy many centuries ago when kings were still considered 'above' the commoners, i.e. 'noble' or 'divine' rulers. Your whole fantasy is based on enslaving yourself and others for the enrichment of a few.
@changed4Christ4life Ummm, yes he is. There are tons of books about him and all the great works he's done. Just because I've never met him and there's no physical proof of his existence doesn't mean he isn't real. How dare you belittle my beliefs.
@DarqV Hmmmm, interesting point, guess that's why they call it faith. But Jesus Christ changed my life and washed away my sins, and broke the power of sin in my life, so I guess that makes me living evidence that Jesus Christ is the truth, but hey if that evidence is no good to you then I won't force you to believe, but man you should read Fox's Book of Martyrs or something and see the kind of work Christ has done.
@changed4Christ4life But christianity makes you believe it's a bad thing and this Jesus guy is the one that can save you. Christianity doesn't even teach that really, but it seems to be a popular believe among religious people. In reality, it's not a bad thing at all. But thinking it's bad because some deity might not approve it, makes it uncomfortable.
@changed4Christ4life Religions are good at taking human desires and turning them into something bad. For example, for many christians, masturbation is a bad thing. Why? Well, 99% of people have sexual urges, so it's no surprise it's considered to be a sin. The church can tell you then that Jesus is the way out, because they know people have these urges and will do it anyway, just to end up coming to church to "confess their sins". Giving the religion more power and in the end, money.
@hanspeterpitsch But see Christ didn't say not to sin because he wanted us to be miserable. He told us to turn from sin because he knows it will make us miserable and dead.Sexual urges are not sin,but when we give in to lust, rather than waiting till marriage,it takes something good that God made, and turns it into something evil,Sex, food and love are all good things, but it becomes sin when we don't enjoy them the way God designed them to be enjoyed, because it takes away His glory
@changed4Christ4life I don't say christ said not to sin because he wants us to be miserable. I was talking about the church teaching such things because it's an easy way to ensure that people would stay in church, giving them power and money. And that's the whole idea or religions: Control, money, power. It sounds like some kind of conspiracy theory, but that's what i comes down to.
And hey, I have a lot of sex(girlfriend) and it's alway good
@hanspeterpitsch Well, I have no power or control other than what God gives me by His grace, and I am probably gonna be poor for the rest of my life cause I'm gonna be a missionary/pastor. And I didn't say sex wouldn't feel good, I bet it does, but I bet even more that it will never even come close to the joy of spending eternity with Christ.
@changed4Christ4life And again, you first have to believe that a god designed anything, to think that it's bad if we don't enjoy them this god designed it to be be enjoyed. It's circular logic and doesn't mean anything in the end.
@changed4Christ4life You would be surprised about a lot of things if you actually cared to do some studies. But for that you would actually have to care wether your believes are true or not. And that doesn't seem to be the case.
And it is still gods problem. He could have forgiven humanity, because the whole concept of sins carrying on to other people is immoral. By the way, why does god not kill satan? He's all powerful..
@changed4Christ4life And yes, a believe can make you feel good, or help you overcome "porn addiction" and other silly notions, but it doesn't make it true. You read the bible and just take its word for it, not very intelligent thing to do. By the way, the funniest thing is that both me and you, are more moral than your sky daddy.
Faith is believing in something for no good reason. I could take anything on faith, doesn't make it true.
@changed4Christ4life The thing about the adam and eve story doesn't really matter, because it never happened. But it's still interesting to think about it, even though it's a story, so keep in mind, me arguing about what "god" "did" doesn't mean I believe in him. I just try to make you question what you believe, because it's such extraordinary nonsense.
I can't stop you from believing, and that's not the point. I can't understand why you believe because it's based on faith, which is useless
@changed4Christ4life Also I love the christian concept. A god creates humans, put's a tree in a garden that they're not supposed to eat from. They don't have the knowledge about good and evil, so they eat anyway. God knew that before it happened(all knowing), still lets it happen. Then he condems everybody that lives from that point on to eternal hell. Instead of forgiving humanity, he comes down and sacrifices himself to himself, to create a loophole, for rules he invented. cont.
@changed4Christ4life And of course, people then have to believe in and worship a god, without any evidence that he even existed. So the only way to escape hell, where god punishes you for his own problems, is by worshipping him. And this is a loving god. That's why I gave you my analogy. Your god is the most cruel mythological character I ever heard of by the way. Why the hell do people believe such nonsense to be true? Btw why don't you believe in islam? They have an ancient book too, so..?
@hanspeterpitsch God's out for His own glory, that's why he created the world, to display His glory, he made a good world. But man sinned and turned His back on God. he gave them one thing they couldn't do, but they chose to disobey because they wanted to be like God, and have His glory for their own (that's why they ate the fruit, because Satan told them they'd be like God if they did), it's not God's fault that man wanted sin more than God. cont.
@hanspeterpitsch And sin isn't God's own problem, its our problem. he could ahve just destroyed everything, but in mercy he made a way back to Himself. Also I don't believe Islam cause it is not the truth,it denies that Jesus is the Christ.Just because it has an ancient book doesn't mean I believe it, and just because it has an ancient book that doesn't make it true, Islam teaches that if you do good works you will have a good life, Christ didn't. cont
@hanspeterpitsch Christ taught that only by having faith in Him are we saved, and that living life for Him on this earth did not mean life here would be easy, rather, we would face persecution. (Not to mention, Islam was started nearly 700 years after Christ and is based around a lie that the Bible was misinterpreted and it actually steals parts of the Bible, but Dead sea scrolls from before Christ prove the Old testament is still accurate.)
"Don't blindly believe what I say. Don't believe me because others convince you of my words. Don't believe anything you see, read, or hear from others, whether of authority, religious teachers or texts. Don't rely on logic alone, nor speculation. Don't infer or be deceived by appearances. Do not give up your authority and follow blindly the will of others. This way will lead to only delusion."
@3rdAutisticCuckoo i can agree with most of your comment, but Logic? If you don't rely on logic what other tool we have to rely on, this doesn't make sense in the least.
@linkuei83 Buddhism actually teaches a lot of things other than just logic, like inner peace. Im an atheist and ive studied real buddhism(not the buddhism of today which is a religion) and ive learned a lot from it.
The Hank analogy fails for the same reason atheists' pink unicorn and flying teapot analogies fail... because they all assume that God is just this dude that's out there somewhere, rather than a creator that's both immanent in and transcendent to His own creation.
@MrAgentGreeny Yes. My proof is that an immanent, transcendent first cause of the Universe is, by definition, qualitatively different than an object that exists in the Universe.
@stallion4life It's not in the slightest. In fact, religion is just a more abhorrent version of kissing Hank's ass. You're a religious fuckwit who believes in things that are no more real than Hank and you know it.
@stallion4life Good christian language coming out there. Problem is we can match it and exceed it word for word - and we're not being hypocritical in so doing. Fucking retarded christbot reli-dork.
The God of the Bible allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9) Killing homosexuals (Leviticus 20:13). Death for hitting your father (Exodus 21:15)
I happen to be a Christian and I thought this video was quite amusing. The fact of the matter is that they do portray religions of today quite accurately. This is not to say that they are right in everything that they are saying because they are not. The question really comes down to evidence and facts. If there is no divine being, then how did we get here? The Big Bang theory and Evolution are full of presuppositions and blind faith. There is only one truth and we must truly find out what it is
I happen to be a Christian and I thought this video was quite amusing. The fact of the matter is that they do portray religions of today quite accurately. If there is no divine being, then how did we get here? The Big Bang theory and Evolution are full of presuppositions and blind faith. There is only one truth and we must truly find out what it is
@cory0688 the big bang theory is nut just some wild guess. people do mathematical equasions and take into account the laws of physics and so on to make a theory lie that. science doesn't claim absolute certainty either, and there is a lot we still don't know about the big bang. but faith is in no way involved. nor is there faith in the theory of evolution. we have two centuries of gathering facts, all of which support the theory. science and faith have nothing to do with each other.
@topperheartramada Well you and I have two definitions of faith then. Wester says that faith is: "firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust" Even Richard Dawkins states that we do not know what actually happened to create the world. You also spout off about "facts" WHAT facts? There are many evidences that I could share here, but you all make the claim that God doesn't exist. You have the burden of proof. I like science, but we must realize it also takes FAITH!
@cory0688 no, you need to learn logic. the burden of proof is on the one making the claim that something is the case. if you say there is such thing as a 'god' and it has such and such attributes and does this or that, you have to provide evidence. when i say i don't believe in a god i don't have to be convinced there isn't one. but all claims about gods if unsubstantiated remain irrelevant. ANYTHING can exist, but it only becomes relevant when evidence is provided.
@topperheartramada I never made a claim that God was real in my original post. I simply asked a question that no one seems to be able to answer. Since most people on here are atheist, I would assume that you have reasons for believing the way that you do. Those reasons would be reason NOT to believe in God. There is ample evidence for the existence of a God. The evidence for a creator would far out weight the evidence for something coming from nothing. That is y I posted the my original question
@sandcut1 The burden of proof is not on me. You all are stating that there isn't a God. I ask you to explain this. You can look at this world and tell that there had to be someone that created it. There is nothing in this world that would leave us to believe that something came from nothing, and that there was an effect without a cause. There had to be a First Cause, an un-caused cause. This is the only rational answer. Every thing that science comes up with uses something that already existed.
@cory0688 No one knows how we got here & we probably won't ever know, & that's OK. By saying we don't know does not mean any god(s) did it as a default position however. Also, science et al is not "full of blind faith"; science is a tool we use to understand how the universe works. Science is open minded- for lack of a better term- theories and ideas evolve as more information is revealed. Discovering how things work is fascinating & good for the brain. Archaic fairytales- not good for anything.
@easyas314 Thank you for this revelation! WE DO NOT KNOW EMPIRICALLY! So why do you all say that Christians are wrong when you cannot base that on anything at all! Science is blind faith when it dabbles in things that it cannot possibly know. Charles Darwin laid out the same argument of continued exploration that would eventually prove evolution. Over 100 years of intense exploration and millions of fossils yet the best we can come up with is Lucy which we only have 40% of.
@cory0688 "If there is no divine being, then how did we get here? "
The evidence points to natural origins (look at clouds, mineral and rock formation, a hurricane/tornado, lightning, conception, plant growth, earthquakes, etc.). How exactly I don't know. No one does with 100% certainty.
Doesn't mean a "god did it."
I don't subscribe to the "big bang theory" and I'm an atheist.
And "scientific theory" is NOT presupposition and blind faith.
@BastEternal How did the clouds and all of that get here. That is where science goes into presupposition and blind faith. At the foundation, science and religion are based on faith. There are simply things we cannot know. The thing we must do is look at the world and and the evidence that we do have. Evolution is full of problems and everyone knows that. Micro evolution is a fact. Macro is absolutely based on 0 evidence. If we want to promote logic, lets be logical.
@BastEternal We can continue this circular argument until the end of time. My point is that you are using things that were already here. Where did these things come from? With that I mean the original Cause of life and matter. No one seems to have an answer to were everything originally started. I understand that this does not mean that God exists. What I want to ask is, based on the evidence, what was the cause then? It really is quite simple.
If you know what science is, you cannot logically claim science is based on faith. This proves my hypothesis that you don't know what science is. See how fun evidence is?!
@cory0688 Wrong, the burden of proof is the one making the claim. I do not claim that god does not exist, I just haven't seen any evidence that he does in fact exist. You are the one claiming god's existence, can you prove it. Again I cannot prove god does not exist, but that does not mean he does. I also don't believe in fairies or bigfoot pt multiple gods.
@sandcut1 Of course I cannot empirically prove that God exists. The same way no one can prove that He doesn't. What we can do is think rationally and logically and when we reach back as far as we can, it is clear there had to be a First Cause. I do not have the faith to believe that this world came about through random chance and from nothing. It does take faith to believe in God, but the evidence in the natural world leads me to believe in God where it leads others to disbelieve.
@cory0688 I do not know how the world came about. What is this evidence that you speak of . The first cause argument fails miserably. How did god "come about " then. Just because we don't have all the answers in life does not mean a super-natural being or entity is responsible. It just means logically we don't know. My logical belief is that we know very little about the universe overall and could possibly take hundreds-millions of years to figure it out. I don't really know how long.
@sandcut1 That argument does not fail miserably because it is obvious that something would have already been here. An uncaused cause. Whether science wants to come up with something or we submit and believe it was God, there had to be something. Other evidences would be the moral code that is build into humans, even "uncivilized." Where did this come from? I look at the natural world and see design. The fact is we could argue all year and never get anywhere. We all have to choose 1 or the other.
@cory0688 That argument does in fact fail miserably unless you can explain where god came from, and what created gods creator etc. I do not see any evidence of a creator that designed the universe, like i said perhaps we just don't have the answers....yet. I don't see our moral code as evidence, sorry. My dog Shyla has a moral code to protect me by barking at anything that moves. We humans are not that moral either.
@cory0688 In fact I think our world is very corrupt, it is full of greed, thief's, murderers, rapist etc. So how do you figure we find out the truth. So are an Agnostic if you don't claim the existence of god, like I said, I can't really tell. All I know is that I am an atheist until someone has some hard evidence of a supreme being. Faith doesn't cut it for me like a lot of Christians and Muslims.
There is a book called The Bible Was Right. Athiest scientist decited to go to the historical places where biblical events took place to prove everything wrong... In the end they found out that the bible is actually historical and there is a God. Don't close your mind, expirience going to a church for at least three months. If after ALL you still believe it's all bs then I'll respect. STOP BEING CLOSE MINDED AND IGNORANT.
@VeRoO777 You are totally bullshitting. And i went to church for years when i was younger. hilarious that you think atheists are the closed-minded ones.
PyroNinja7 when you were younger when? when you were 12? ofc you wnt undrstnd if mommy and daddy MADE you go. If you don't wanna take wht I say I can't stop you, but ofc I used to hate it even when I was younger, I'm 17 and just like 2 years ago I started going to chrch again cause sadly most f churches nowadays are messed up. I just finlly found the right one. I have such passion for God. I dnt expct you to undrstnd but if 1 opened their mind and do it right then you can lable me crazy or not.
@VeRoO777 Whether or not i was made to go, I understood what was going on. I am 17 too and I have a very open mind, but my open mind has led me to atheism.
God gives you evil children of satan enough evidence for you to come to Him and yield to His right to control ur life if that is what you so want. ANd for those that dont want God, he leaves enough pieces missing to allow you to reason God out of ur consciousness. So the atheist movement could be being used by God to polarize the believers and non believers. "He sent them a great delusion that they believe the lie, who took pleasure in unrighteousness"
ve. I'm not saying that its wrong to defend your beliefs because it's not but we should approach people in a more Christ like way. And we as christians shouldn't be worrying about winning some argument as much as we should be worrying about peoples salvation.
I've learned that's it's pointless to argue with atheist when it comes to something as faith, not for that fact that they're "ignorant" or anything. But for the fact that as soon as they feel that their theories are being threatened or that they're about to hear some bible thumper tell them how they're going to burn in hell for not believing, they automatically put up a defensive wall. I've learned that the best way to reach people is by being an example of how Christ was and by showing them lo

Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, showing that their desire was to sin. If it is mankind's desire to sin, how can God be blamed? If you desire your life to change, then turn to the Lord Jesus Christ today. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28

We all know it, there's no point in trying to soften it, but thanks.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch I never imagined up my God, he found me.And I have no need to soften up my God,he is indeed just and will pour out His wrath. God isn't just a cowardly guy who says do whatever you want I don't care,he made a way through Christ for us to be saved,he created me and gave me life, what right do I have to judge Him, no matter what he does?I believe in Christ because he is the ONLY way to life,I deserve only Hell,God saved me,how can I not call Him loving?

@changed4Christ4life It's always entertaining and depressing at the same time when I realize people actually believe such nonsense and base their lifes around it :) / :(
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life Btw If I create a tortue chamber and say the only way you can avoid it is by worshipping me, do I safe you? From my own punishment? Not that loving if you ask me. Whatever, I know the excuse, you don't have to tell me ;)
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch Your missing a few things in that "analogy." 1. I don't just get saved, I get to be with Christ forever 2. You did not create me and therefore do not have authority over me like God does 3. I have done God so much wrong that I absolutely deserve an eternal Hell. I'm glad God is the way he is, He is not only loving, but also just, and justified in everything he does.
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life 1. whatever, doesn't matter. Btw what does that even mean; being with christ, forever no less? Sounds creepy. 2. Ok then add "If i created you" to my analogy. 3. What the fuck have you done in your life to think you deserve eternal hell?
In the end, you can't talk about the character of this god because you haven't even demonstrated that such a thing even exists.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch 1.Christ is author of my salvation, Savior, he is everything to me 2. You did not create me, nor do you have the infinite knowledge God has 3. To deserve eternal Hell? I blasphemed and scorned the eternal, perfect and Holy God and his grace by loving sin more than Him, when he gave me life, breath, and all that I have, then died to make a Way for me to come back to Him. Praise God he had the mercy to open my eyes to the truth, my only hope is in Christ
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life 1. "when he gave me life, breath, and all that I have, then died to make a Way for me to come back to Him" I still don't get why you believe that..
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch And you still dont know why I believe?I believe it because Christ rescue me from porn addiction, video game addiction, anger problems, pride, and has given me a desire to know Him that I never before had,and that didnt happen till AFTER I had read the whole Bible(meaning the Bible didnt save me,Christ did), because before I was delivered from all that I was fake,I went to church and read the Bible, but until I put my faith in Christ I was just religious, now Im saved
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life Wow. Islam steals from the bible? Based around a lie? What about christianity? It's based on a book, like islam. Also christianity is basically taking the tora(jews) and adding the new testament. The funny thing to me is that you say islam stole from the bible, yet the bible itself isn't that original either. Virgin births and such things have been tought in earlier religions way before christianity.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch have you read the New testament?Thousands of the first Christians were Jews, Christ was the fufillment of hundreds of Old testament prophecies, and Christ did not abolish the Jewish law but fulfilled it.Even before Christ, it was by Faith that David and Abraham and Enoch did miracles and were saved. If you want some answers I suggest reading the Bible or listening to John Piper's explination of the question you just asked about Satan.
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life There is no explanation. If I created life, and cared about it, and something else I created was messing with the,, I'd get rid of it. Your god doesn't. He's immoral like that.
"Christ was the fufillment of hundreds of Old testament prophecies" Sorry, but LOL. Yeah, I could write a book, make prophecies in it, then another guy could write a book about a character fullfilling them. The bible can't prove the bible, simple as that.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life " it was by Faith that David and Abraham and Enoch did miracles and were saved"
And you know this to be true because..? See what the problem is?
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch I don't see where the problem is.I was a wicked sinner, and Christ took my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh,he died to do that, greatest miracle I've seen happen in my life. Why shouldnt I believe what the Bible says?I've been religious before, and done "good" things to get things(like in Islam, or Hinduism cause of karma),but now I do good because Christ works in me,and I don't care if I'm hated, poor or killed,I'm motivated by love for Christ, not money or worldly gain
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life The problem is that the sin concept and christ go hand in hand. The sin concept is brought forward by the same book that talks about christ. I reject the notion of sin aswell. That doesn't mean I don't think there are bad things one can do tho. In other words, one has to believe in christianity to believe in sin to believe in christ dying for those sins. It's a closed system, you see what I mean?
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life "Why shouldnt I believe what the Bible says?" Well for the same reasons you reject the Koran. It's an ancient book written by people that had no understanding of the world and therefor invented a god as an answer, filled it with their morals and their thinking. I don't claim that it's therfor wrong, but there's also no reason at all to think that it's true. We aren't even sure of a Jesus christs very existence, let alone the claims about his devinity.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life Again, I don't say Jesus christ never existed. In my opinion it's likely that man with such a name, or similiar, did exist and maybe was a philosopher, or he was just nuts. There are people right now claiming their sent by god, and logically we don't believe them, most at least. But 2000 years ago? Far more likely.
"greatest miracle I've seen happen in my life" again, you didn't see that, you just believe it for whatever reason. Maybe because it feels good, idk.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch Well I'll tell you what, if you want some proof that Christ exists go outside and see if there is a world that exists that he created. If that doesn't make you believe, then repent and turn from your sin, believe in Him and put your faith in Him, cry out to Him to save you and give Him your life and then you'll understand why I've got this joy. Or you could wait till the judgement seat. Sorry but those are your options
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life "if you want some proof that Christ exists go outside and see if there is a world that exists that he created"
That's not an argument, change christ with anything, for example allah, and you have the same thing.
And the rest your saying is basically: Believe in him, and you will believe. Again, switch the name christ with anything and you have the same thing. You basically want to believe and therefor do.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch But more importantly Christ is better than any sex or food or possession, so really in turning to Him, whether we have those things or not, it is better than sin. I don't turn from sin just because a book tells me too, I do it because God is more satisfying and was right when he said His way is better, and that he Humself is better than any created thing
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life So you're living in a delusion basically. Christ is better than all those things? How? Sorry, but that's such a weird mindset. And you do that because a book tells you so in the end. Your god, the sin concept, Jesus all are in your book and nowhere else.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch Take a look at America today. Have we really made things better? We sit on our couches and big houses while half the world starves and dies, and think we do good by giving them a few bucks here and there. Plus AIDS, malaria, STD's, nuclear weapons, wars, rapes, murders, drug addicts, porn addictions, humanity is doing a pretty bad job running things if you ask me. Thank God he's even allowed us to live and have a chance to turn to Him and be saved
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life I think it's sad that you can't be a good person without the believe in some deity. Or not as good at least. I think you are a very good person, you don't need some god that is popular at that time to give you his seal of approval, you can have your morals without that. Also it changes your life for the worse. For example, watching porn isn't a bad thing itself, maybe if you do it addictivly, but that's common sense.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch I understand your argument about being a "good" person, I've thought about that alot. but who decides what is good? God's ways are above ours. But truth is even if someone barley sinned at all, never killed or stole or hurt anyone, and lived a good life by Human standards, what would he have to say before God at judgement if he didn't believe in Christ? That he thought he didn't need God at all and that he'd be good enough on His own?
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life Essentially we decide what's good ourselfs. As social animals, of course it's wrong to kill or steal or rape. Not because a god said so.
And yeah, I would say to god "Sorry, but you didn't give humanity a hint of your existence, and I was a good person on my own."
If he then would still send me to hell because I didn't believe in him, well, then so be it, i couldn't change that. But I don't fear hell, simply because I don't believe it exists, so fear doesn't work on me.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch I'm not trying to make you fear. I'm trying to tell you the truth. When you stand before God and say "Sorry, but you didn't give humanity a hint of your existence, and I was a good person on my own." what are you gonna do when he reminds you of this conversation? What if he calls me in and says "Alex did you not clearly explain to this person that I exist and that Christ is the only Way to me?" Would you still say he never told you?
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life Yes, because I don't just take your word for it. If you say that to me, and another person explains to me the way of allah, there's no reason I would favour any of you, you both would just tell me something without any reason and without any evidence to back it up. See what I mean? When I say god never gave us a hint of his existence, I don't mean someone telling me those things. I mean evidence that could be observed and tested to see that it is actually true.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch I understand your argument about no evidence. but that's why you have to have faith. And I don't expect you to just believe Christ over everything for no reason. Read the Bible and look at the life of a real Christian. Turn from your sin to Christ and put your faith in Him. What have you got to lose? money, cars, a job, other things that won't satisfy and will one day be gone when you die? I know its hard to understand but its the truth.
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch What else makes people want to give up everything in this world and turn God. Not Islam, it says give 2.5% of your money to the poor, Christ says give it all. I don't believe Christ for money or things on earth. i give them all up, because he's worth more than all that. What other religion offers Christ or God, as the ultimate reward? Not Islam, Mormonism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Greek Mythology, Masonry, or pastafarianism.
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life I think we have reached the point where we just have to agree to disagre I guess. Yes you need to take it one faith. But I simply don't get how believing something on faith makes it true, even to myself. It's like believing that when I turn 60, I'mm gonna win a billion dollars. I don't see how it makes it true. And christianity doesn't offer those things for real, it just says it does. You picked a belief system that feels most comfortable to you.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life I still don't see why I should base my life around a premise that is most likely not even true, to me that's a waste of life, and as far as we know, and as far as logic dictates, I only have one life and then it's over, so I don't see why I would waste it just for the hope of an afterlife. Anyway, you're the most pleasent theist I've ever talked to, and I'd actually like to talk to you in person, because the writing thing gets us nowhere, but sadly that's not possible.

@changed4Christ4life Oh man - live your life buddy -You're 18 and you are already brainwashed. Dude... dont waste your life. Im not gonna try to change your mind, but do yourself a favor. If you only believe some parts (And others are just parables) - then by what code do you choose which parts are real? You're too smart to believe garbage
MrDevilstreaker 1 month ago
@MrDevilstreaker Ah yah, the brainwashed approach. Too smart to believe in this? Yah I thought I was for a while, then God humbled me, he broke me, and in my brokeness he showed me that I really had no idea what being a Christian was about. Then A brave man hit me with the true Gospel and God opened my heart and I believed.I literally cannot deny that God exists without being a liar, to the truth, to my conscience and to my heart, sorry man, your words only make my faith stronger
changed4Christ4life 1 month ago
@changed4Christ4life Like I said- I am not trying to convert you, and if you are truly convinced, then I honestly wish you a good life. But I've read most of the bible myself, many parts of which I've read multiple times, and was looking to become a preacher. Its important that you reconcile it for yourself. Dont take my word, or anyones word - but read it for yourself, and come up with YOUR conclusions - dont let others interpret it for you - that is the big mistake I made.
MrDevilstreaker 1 month ago

No, you changed your life, not some ethereal spirit in your mind. The human mind can do amazing things when properly motivated. @DarqV Hmmmm, interesting point, guess that's why they call it faith. But Jesus Christ changed my life and washed away my sins, and broke the power of sin in my life, so I guess that makes me living evidence that Jesus Christ is the truth, but hey if that evidence is no good to you then I won't force you to believe, but man you should read Fox's Book of Martyrs or something and see the kind of work Christ has done.
changed4Christ4life 1 week ago
@changed4Christ4life But christianity makes you believe it's a bad thing and this Jesus guy is the one that can save you. Christianity doesn't even teach that really, but it seems to be a popular believe among religious people. In reality, it's not a bad thing at all. But thinking it's bad because some deity might not approve it, makes it uncomfortable.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life Religions are good at taking human desires and turning them into something bad. For example, for many christians, masturbation is a bad thing. Why? Well, 99% of people have sexual urges, so it's no surprise it's considered to be a sin. The church can tell you then that Jesus is the way out, because they know people have these urges and will do it anyway, just to end up coming to church to "confess their sins". Giving the religion more power and in the end, money.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch But see Christ didn't say not to sin because he wanted us to be miserable. He told us to turn from sin because he knows it will make us miserable and dead.Sexual urges are not sin,but when we give in to lust, rather than waiting till marriage,it takes something good that God made, and turns it into something evil,Sex, food and love are all good things, but it becomes sin when we don't enjoy them the way God designed them to be enjoyed, because it takes away His glory
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life I don't say christ said not to sin because he wants us to be miserable. I was talking about the church teaching such things because it's an easy way to ensure that people would stay in church, giving them power and money. And that's the whole idea or religions: Control, money, power. It sounds like some kind of conspiracy theory, but that's what i comes down to.
And hey, I have a lot of sex(girlfriend) and it's alway good
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch Well, I have no power or control other than what God gives me by His grace, and I am probably gonna be poor for the rest of my life cause I'm gonna be a missionary/pastor. And I didn't say sex wouldn't feel good, I bet it does, but I bet even more that it will never even come close to the joy of spending eternity with Christ.
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life And again, you first have to believe that a god designed anything, to think that it's bad if we don't enjoy them this god designed it to be be enjoyed. It's circular logic and doesn't mean anything in the end.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life You would be surprised about a lot of things if you actually cared to do some studies. But for that you would actually have to care wether your believes are true or not. And that doesn't seem to be the case.
And it is still gods problem. He could have forgiven humanity, because the whole concept of sins carrying on to other people is immoral. By the way, why does god not kill satan? He's all powerful..
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life And yes, a believe can make you feel good, or help you overcome "porn addiction" and other silly notions, but it doesn't make it true. You read the bible and just take its word for it, not very intelligent thing to do. By the way, the funniest thing is that both me and you, are more moral than your sky daddy.
Faith is believing in something for no good reason. I could take anything on faith, doesn't make it true.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life The thing about the adam and eve story doesn't really matter, because it never happened. But it's still interesting to think about it, even though it's a story, so keep in mind, me arguing about what "god" "did" doesn't mean I believe in him. I just try to make you question what you believe, because it's such extraordinary nonsense.
I can't stop you from believing, and that's not the point. I can't understand why you believe because it's based on faith, which is useless
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life Also I love the christian concept. A god creates humans, put's a tree in a garden that they're not supposed to eat from. They don't have the knowledge about good and evil, so they eat anyway. God knew that before it happened(all knowing), still lets it happen. Then he condems everybody that lives from that point on to eternal hell. Instead of forgiving humanity, he comes down and sacrifices himself to himself, to create a loophole, for rules he invented. cont.
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@changed4Christ4life And of course, people then have to believe in and worship a god, without any evidence that he even existed. So the only way to escape hell, where god punishes you for his own problems, is by worshipping him. And this is a loving god. That's why I gave you my analogy. Your god is the most cruel mythological character I ever heard of by the way. Why the hell do people believe such nonsense to be true? Btw why don't you believe in islam? They have an ancient book too, so..?
hanspeterpitsch 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch God's out for His own glory, that's why he created the world, to display His glory, he made a good world. But man sinned and turned His back on God. he gave them one thing they couldn't do, but they chose to disobey because they wanted to be like God, and have His glory for their own (that's why they ate the fruit, because Satan told them they'd be like God if they did), it's not God's fault that man wanted sin more than God. cont.
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch And sin isn't God's own problem, its our problem. he could ahve just destroyed everything, but in mercy he made a way back to Himself. Also I don't believe Islam cause it is not the truth,it denies that Jesus is the Christ.Just because it has an ancient book doesn't mean I believe it, and just because it has an ancient book that doesn't make it true, Islam teaches that if you do good works you will have a good life, Christ didn't. cont
changed4Christ4life 2 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch Christ taught that only by having faith in Him are we saved, and that living life for Him on this earth did not mean life here would be easy, rather, we would face persecution. (Not to mention, Islam was started nearly 700 years after Christ and is based around a lie that the Bible was misinterpreted and it actually steals parts of the Bible, but Dead sea scrolls from before Christ prove the Old testament is still accurate.)

The Hank analogy fails for the same reason atheists' pink unicorn and flying teapot analogies fail... because they all assume that God is just this dude that's out there somewhere, rather than a creator that's both immanent in and transcendent to His own creation.
stallion4life 3 months ago
@stallion4life You got any proof for that? I thought not :)
MrAgentGreeny 3 months ago
@MrAgentGreeny Yes. My proof is that an immanent, transcendent first cause of the Universe is, by definition, qualitatively different than an object that exists in the Universe.

@stallion4life So you've defined god into existence.
Bravo. I'm sure the leap from your foolproof logical conclusion to the bible is just as brilliant.

There is only one truth and we must truly find out what it is

cory0688 5 months ago
@cory0688 the big bang theory is nut just some wild guess. people do mathematical equasions and take into account the laws of physics and so on to make a theory lie that. science doesn't claim absolute certainty either, and there is a lot we still don't know about the big bang. but faith is in no way involved. nor is there faith in the theory of evolution. we have two centuries of gathering facts, all of which support the theory. science and faith have nothing to do with each other.
topperheartramada 5 months ago
@topperheartramada Well you and I have two definitions of faith then. Wester says that faith is: "firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust" Even Richard Dawkins states that we do not know what actually happened to create the world. You also spout off about "facts" WHAT facts? There are many evidences that I could share here, but you all make the claim that God doesn't exist. You have the burden of proof. I like science, but we must realize it also takes FAITH!
cory0688 4 months ago
@cory0688 no, you need to learn logic. the burden of proof is on the one making the claim that something is the case. if you say there is such thing as a 'god' and it has such and such attributes and does this or that, you have to provide evidence. when i say i don't believe in a god i don't have to be convinced there isn't one. but all claims about gods if unsubstantiated remain irrelevant. ANYTHING can exist, but it only becomes relevant when evidence is provided.
topperheartramada 4 months ago
@topperheartramada I guess this guy (cory0688) doesn't understand what a logical fallacy is.
sandcut1 4 months ago
@topperheartramada I never made a claim that God was real in my original post. I simply asked a question that no one seems to be able to answer. Since most people on here are atheist, I would assume that you have reasons for believing the way that you do. Those reasons would be reason NOT to believe in God. There is ample evidence for the existence of a God. The evidence for a creator would far out weight the evidence for something coming from nothing. That is y I posted the my original question
cory0688 4 months ago
@cory0688 So if you do not claim that god is real, are an agnostic or a Christian? I can't tell.
sandcut1 4 months ago
@cory0688 there is zero evidence for a god, any god.
topperheartramada 4 months ago 3
@cory0688 I don't know how we got here, now go ahead and prove that god exists.
sandcut1 5 months ago
@sandcut1 The burden of proof is not on me. You all are stating that there isn't a God. I ask you to explain this. You can look at this world and tell that there had to be someone that created it. There is nothing in this world that would leave us to believe that something came from nothing, and that there was an effect without a cause. There had to be a First Cause, an un-caused cause. This is the only rational answer. Every thing that science comes up with uses something that already existed.

@cory0688 I don't know how we got here, now go ahead and prove that god exists.
sandcut1 5 months ago
@cory0688 No one knows how we got here & we probably won't ever know, & that's OK. By saying we don't know does not mean any god(s) did it as a default position however. Also, science et al is not "full of blind faith"; science is a tool we use to understand how the universe works. Science is open minded- for lack of a better term- theories and ideas evolve as more information is revealed. Discovering how things work is fascinating & good for the brain. Archaic fairytales- not good for anything.
easyas314 5 months ago
@easyas314 Thank you for this revelation! WE DO NOT KNOW EMPIRICALLY! So why do you all say that Christians are wrong when you cannot base that on anything at all! Science is blind faith when it dabbles in things that it cannot possibly know. Charles Darwin laid out the same argument of continued exploration that would eventually prove evolution. Over 100 years of intense exploration and millions of fossils yet the best we can come up with is Lucy which we only have 40% of.
cory0688 4 months ago
@cory0688 "If there is no divine being, then how did we get here? "
The evidence points to natural origins (look at clouds, mineral and rock formation, a hurricane/tornado, lightning, conception, plant growth, earthquakes, etc.). How exactly I don't know. No one does with 100% certainty.
Doesn't mean a "god did it."
I don't subscribe to the "big bang theory" and I'm an atheist.
And "scientific theory" is NOT presupposition and blind faith.
That's religion you're describing.
BastEternal 4 months ago
@BastEternal How did the clouds and all of that get here. That is where science goes into presupposition and blind faith. At the foundation, science and religion are based on faith. There are simply things we cannot know. The thing we must do is look at the world and and the evidence that we do have. Evolution is full of problems and everyone knows that. Micro evolution is a fact. Macro is absolutely based on 0 evidence. If we want to promote logic, lets be logical.
cory0688 4 months ago
@cory0688 "How did the clouds and all of that get here."
You can find out how clouds are formed via any science textbook..you can even do experiments that will result in the formation of clouds.
"At the foundation, science and religion are based on faith. "
Religion is based on faith..science is based on observation and evidence.
"Evolution is full of problems and everyone knows that."
You cannot assume "everyone knows that" without providing some sort of evidence to support your claims.
BastEternal 4 months ago
@BastEternal We can continue this circular argument until the end of time. My point is that you are using things that were already here. Where did these things come from? With that I mean the original Cause of life and matter. No one seems to have an answer to were everything originally started. I understand that this does not mean that God exists. What I want to ask is, based on the evidence, what was the cause then? It really is quite simple.
cory0688 4 months ago

@cory0688
Circular argument?? What are you talking about?
I didn't say "clouds are formed by clouds." I don't think a science textbook says that either.
Consider lightning. Have we not discovered how lightning is formed? Or do we attribute it to Zeus?
If you want to know how the first living cell developed, I have no idea.
Will we ever find out? Maybe, maybe not..but like you said, just because we don't know does not mean that a god exists, or that a "god did it."
BastEternal 4 months ago

@cory0688
Not only is science based on observation and evidence, but it's also based on lots and lots of testing and experimentation.
Please look up the scienctific method because there's nothing faith-based about it.
BastEternal 4 months ago
@cory0688
If you know what science is, you cannot logically claim science is based on faith. This proves my hypothesis that you don't know what science is. See how fun evidence is?!
drche420 3 months ago
@cory0688 Wrong, the burden of proof is the one making the claim. I do not claim that god does not exist, I just haven't seen any evidence that he does in fact exist. You are the one claiming god's existence, can you prove it. Again I cannot prove god does not exist, but that does not mean he does. I also don't believe in fairies or bigfoot pt multiple gods.
sandcut1 4 months ago
@sandcut1 Of course I cannot empirically prove that God exists. The same way no one can prove that He doesn't. What we can do is think rationally and logically and when we reach back as far as we can, it is clear there had to be a First Cause. I do not have the faith to believe that this world came about through random chance and from nothing. It does take faith to believe in God, but the evidence in the natural world leads me to believe in God where it leads others to disbelieve.
cory0688 4 months ago
@cory0688 I do not know how the world came about. What is this evidence that you speak of . The first cause argument fails miserably. How did god "come about " then. Just because we don't have all the answers in life does not mean a super-natural being or entity is responsible. It just means logically we don't know. My logical belief is that we know very little about the universe overall and could possibly take hundreds-millions of years to figure it out. I don't really know how long.
sandcut1 4 months ago
@sandcut1 That argument does not fail miserably because it is obvious that something would have already been here. An uncaused cause. Whether science wants to come up with something or we submit and believe it was God, there had to be something. Other evidences would be the moral code that is build into humans, even "uncivilized." Where did this come from? I look at the natural world and see design. The fact is we could argue all year and never get anywhere. We all have to choose 1 or the other.
cory0688 4 months ago
@cory0688 That argument does in fact fail miserably unless you can explain where god came from, and what created gods creator etc. I do not see any evidence of a creator that designed the universe, like i said perhaps we just don't have the answers....yet. I don't see our moral code as evidence, sorry. My dog Shyla has a moral code to protect me by barking at anything that moves. We humans are not that moral either.

@cory0688 "We all have to choose 1 or the other."
You are assuming there are only two possible choices. A false dichotomy.
What if the answer is a 3rd option we haven't thought of yet? Or a 4th? Or a 10th?
So we don't "all have to choose 1 or the other." Please only speak for yourself, not all.

@cory0688 "Other evidences would be the moral code that is build into humans, even "uncivilized.""
You are presupposing a "moral code" was "build into humans."
Where's your evidence to back that up?
After that, you need to provide evidence that it was your specific god that did the building.
BastEternal 4 months ago
@cory0688 In fact I think our world is very corrupt, it is full of greed, thief's, murderers, rapist etc. So how do you figure we find out the truth. So are an Agnostic if you don't claim the existence of god, like I said, I can't really tell. All I know is that I am an atheist until someone has some hard evidence of a supreme being. Faith doesn't cut it for me like a lot of Christians and Muslims.
