Thanks Karen! I read, as blues musician and passioner, in the book of Samual B. Charters about this first published blues. You, known Hart Wand was a blank man? I heard the piece, played by you, for the first time. Nice laid-back interpretation.

What do you mean by Blank man? Do you mean to say Black man? Because if so, Hart Wand was a White man, a German-American from Oklahoma. Look him up on wikipedia they have his photo. Hart Wand's Dallas Blues was the very first published Blues composition and song with Blues in the title.
wow nice im gonna add you cause you inspire me i am researching the history of rock music and since i just started i learned about one of the first peices of blues and this was it and was the only one i could find on youtube thank you very much
this is one of the songs featured in a book i ordered called "Blues Fiddling Classics"
...so, i decided to check out these tunes on youtube. i like the way you play; keep up the good work. maybe someday you'll hear my version of this song played on fiddle... "The important thing is to never stop playing..." I don't know who said that.
Ya, I'm blown away by that! It is interesting to explore the origins of the very early blues. Thanx for commenting...I like that "In Blues We Trust". here's another quote from Neil Diamond: "song sung blues, weeping like a willow"
Karen, I loved this. The slow tempo is so relaxing. Nice performance. Camera issues? You could have fooled me - you seem relaxed, and confident. Synapses look to be working just fine...
You don't have that little person in your head saying..."OK, half way thru, no mistakes"...then MAJOR MESSUP...back to recording again, and again, and again. I want to send this little annoying person somewhere! eek!
Yes, the owner has been glued to the bench learning the section C of Oh, you Devil, and needed a break...hence this blues number. And the hat has been glued to my head in my attempt to stay warm..LOL
Thanks Tom, I give you 5 stars just for listening!
I read that Hart Wands Dallas Blues was the first officially published Blues..Never found it on the internet to listen...
Thanks uploading your try... Sounds Good..Really Good...
Could anyone suggest where to find the original piece??
