Most interesting and dramatic is the fact that while Bartók was still working on the instrumentation of this piece, and Trianon pact was closed on June 4, 1920, Bartók and his family lived in Transsylvania, the most precious and beautiful east part of Hungary. Yet June 5 this had become Romania!
