ok im really confused. i played this game a long time ago, probably like 8 years ago or something, and my ending was not this ending, and i dont understand. my ending was something like, you defeat the burrower, but only to find out you are basically in some kind of snow globe type thing, and a higher power has you in its collection, and you are basically stuck there and have no way to get out... i distinctly remember it being something along those lines. maybe i didnt get marmillions scroll?

I remembered the first time I play'ed this game I rented it from VideoTyme and between me and my little bro we beat the game in a single night taking turns to sleep. Reason was because the save feature wouldn't save our game if we turned the genesis off. Bad save card :( We let the genesis rest for awhile hoping we didn't fry it :P GREAT GAME and excellent walkthrough :)

You can in fact rest in a dungeon even if enemies are still alive inside it. You just need to be roughly 20 steps away from any monsters in any direction. It usually helps to just run away to areas you know you have cleared, and then rest. However, it may have been best in the end because you said you were a packrat (so am I), so that might have caused more inventory issues.

The only exception to this is the Burrower's den, you cannot rest ANYWHERE inside it.

Thank you SO much for putting out these videos! Basically I've watched 1-50 while I started up a game of my own and played it all the way through with your videos in pretty decent synchronization.

I first played this game when I was a teen, and it was on Sega-Channel (old school!). I NEVER beat it until just today. Your videos were fun to listen to, and fun to watch you get into predicaments.

However, it -pained- me that you never seemed to know while the videos played that (cont'd)

Thanks for the videos, I never beat this game because I got stuck at the stupid Elf Caves when I got there not realizing I had not got the key for entry, must have been a full inventory problem, but I ended up finding every secret in the game inadvetantly by looking endlessly for something new to get into the caves haha, spent days searching, but this ending wasnt all that great haha the Burrower is in some random generic-looking corner in a cave.. how epic lol thanks for letting me see that =P

Ya 15 yrs ago i did the same thing, i looked in every corner of the game and found other cool stuff and my heros and party was much more powerful. But i got stuck where i didnt find the lady merchant in that dungeon and didnt get the medalian that u need for the dark elf dungeon.

I never knew how it ended.

Such an awesome game. Godzilla was the best! Oh, the "ka" thing reminds me of the dark tower series. So, if you are familiar with those books, "Long days and pleasant nights! Thankee-sai!"

Great playthrough. A bit of background info is needed to understand the ending.

The Burrowers(giant squids) hollowed out the world for some reason. The Immortals(gods) put the Burrowers into a coma, and then proceeded to turn the inside of the world into a giant zoo to preserve dead cultures and species. The Burrowers corrupted any people that lived near them.

Oddly, Ka was the patron of both the Lizardmen and the Beastmen, so he should be the last Immortal that wants to help you.

Now try a funner challenge of maxig your levels and bying +3 weapons so you can kill everything that cheesed you of.

Of course i wodnt go past town going empty because the shops will be closed.

I can imagine... at least the azcan temple should work well for you. that many thieves mean that the chance of traps being detected and disarmed are really good... you will probably be buying a lot of scrolls late game though... (and needing to level much higher then I did. Good luck :) you'll have to tell me how it goes.

basically is makes enemies ignore you... on the world map it has saved me when I had a near party wipe. it allows you to sneak by enemies to attack other ones and such... but really it's not useful. Especially useless underground... I think they really did thieves a disservice in this game.
