Supersonic was meant for Liam circa 1993-2000. His voice now unfortunately is gone. Having said that this version has breathed new life into the song. Not better, not worse, just different. I do prefer Liam's ability to hang on to certain syllables; part of the early Oasis appeal.
This performance by Noel is a hell of a lot cooler than some people on this thread are willing to admit. Not taking anything away from Liam, but be honest - would you rather listen to this performance by Noel or listen to Liam sing it at any point after 2001? Liam was great and part of Beady Eye's appeal is they are writing songs he can actually sing, but he sounded legitimately awful with Oasis live on their last couple tours. It was time to move on.

Ok, I love Liam but, honestly, post-97 Liam can not sing live. He just barks out the lyrics without any kind of emotion. Not like dear Noel here, he means everything he sings. Genius.
I'm fucking sick of watching videos of the High Flying Birds and seeing people saying "Aw Liam would be better on this" "Supersonics nothing without Liam" etc. That was then, this is now so fucking enjoy it.
I think there's no denying that Liam makes Supersonic the all out ballsy rock song it is, but this stripped back version shows it's brilliant song craftmanship from none other than the legend which is Noel!
It truly says something about Noel's songwriting abilities that you can take a song as immense and powerful as "Supersonic," strip it down to acoustic guitar and keys, and it still hits you like a ton of bricks. Amazing.
@yayoasis original supersonic = original Liam, he will never sing that song correctly, or in a good context for the rest of his career, Noel, however, wrote it, and has arranged it in a new and tasteful way.
It's incredible how he adapted a rock anthem to an acoustic set like this. But I will prefer standard version and Liam every time.
