How about you read some of the things these books have to offer? Maybe then you'd realize that it has nothing to do with Satan, aside from the typical slaying evil foes or banishing demons.

The game is about delving into a realm of imagination and storytelling, in which people take part of and really map the story by their actions. The basis of these stories is completely reliant on who's creating it (the DM)

The game is only as "satanic" as your son would want to make it. Any actions he would take would be based on his judgement. If he's conjuring demons, that's his input. I'll leave the argument that he should make his own decisions on what to believe religiously alone. You just need the three core books to play. I use miniatures for player characters and little glass drops for enemies.

You need a set of dice, Players Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Masters Guide.

Buy DND Version 3.5 if you know whats good for you. Version 4 is a money pit p.o.s.

You don't actually need miniatures. When I DM I usually use graph paper to map out places and either update the movements by a coin or simply by writing their initials in the square they are in.

I think they did a pretty good job on this, but the audio was rough. Hard to understand in some moments and too loud the next.
